Bud's at Silver Run
Tried a new place for my birthday! Service was great, food was good, but not excellent. 2 of the meals came out hot, but the 3rd was cooling. It was a steak and mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes cooled are gummy. Bread was good, but should be included with the meal, not pay extra. Thought the wine glass for my birthday was extra special
We had a lovely time at Bud's at Silver Run. The food is always excellent, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the owner and his employees are always helpful with suggestions on drinks and dinner.
An overall wonderful experience!
We have been to Bud's many times and it is consistently terrific. It's our favorite restaurant in Maryland, as a perfect blend of great food, service, and ambiance. The menu offers a wide range of dishes from exotic to old standbys and light to heavy duty, all prepared perfectly. It's to only place we've ever been that asks how you would like your salmon cooked (medium rare for us). They are very sensitive to any special customer needs, from handicaps to allergies. Bud's is a unique and very special restaurant.
It was great as always wouldn't go any where else, food was good and the beer cold great evening with my wife
Excellent value. We hadn't been there in years and I don't really know why. Excellent menu, especially the Just Right plates. We will definitely put this back on our restaurant rotation.
We love Bud's the crab cakes are the best I have ever had. Service is friendly and attentive. Owner always comes by to check on each table.
Great atmosphere in a historic building. Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious!
Yet another really good meal in a warm and comfortable dining room. Great people serving great food!
The portions were small, the price was high, and we nearly rubbed elbows with the table beside us. Food was tasty though, just went away hungry.
Our dinner at Bud's was just wonderful. Our crab dip was delicious, served with toasted bread and chips, my roasted beet salad was superb. I'm still telling people about it. Our steaks were done to perfection per our order, and our desserts were dreamy. Our desserts were delicious; my husband had the triple chocolate cake, and I had the best crème brulee I had ever eaten. I'll be back for more of that!
First time in. Fantastic experience! Service and food was exceptional. Karoline, the bartender was extremely personable and her knowledge of the menu was on point. Mussels were wonderful. Asked for extra bread for dipping and it was there in the blink of an eye. Spoke with Ken, the owner, briefly. Very nice person. We very much enjoyed our afternoon and will return soon.
Warm, friendly attractive place with excellent food, a menu to suit a variety of appetites, and good service. Very attractive and comfortable.
We went on Valentine's which is always a trepidation due to the busyness of the restaurants and prix fix menus. Bud's was busy but not frenetic. The did not have their full menu but they had multiple yummy choices in each category - appetizers, soups, salads, entree and dessert. Nice moderately price wine menu. Excellent wait staff service. Comfortable atmosphere.
Class venue with personal touch of Chef Ken
I’ll be back again and again
This was our second time visiting Bud's. My wife and I had a lovely, quiet meal. We will be back.
It was our first time there. It was my husbands birthday and we heard the food was really good so I made a reservation. We walked in about 10 minutes prior to our reservation and stood awkwardly in between tables right inside the door for about 5-10 minutes waiting for someone to come and greet us. Once seated, our waitress was very nice and took our drink orders. No bread, would’ve like to have some bread. Then, the waitress came by and took our meal orders. Still no bread. I complained to my husband about the no bread & he told me that right below where it said “Entrees” on the menu, it said bread service or something. So I waited for my bread. My husbands appetizer came and I still didn’t get any bread. He very much enjoyed his cobb salad appetizer but I still didn’t have any bread. At this point the restaurant was empty so no excuse for the lack of bread on my table. Our food arrived and I finally gave up on bread. My husband and I both got crab cakes and they were very tasty except for the excessive amount of shell pieces. I love crab cakes and I expect some shell but this was too much. It was my husbands first crab cake ever so he thought that was normal and couldn’t understand why I ordered them everywhere we go. It got to the point that I gagged and stopped eating it, but it was no big deal because I was pretty full even though I never got any bread. I tipped what I believe is a standard 20% even though I didn’t get any bread, but I would of course have tipped better if I had gotten some. Safe to say I will not return.😋🥖
Always great to be at Bud’s. Food, service and of course Ken are the best
Amazing food and ambiance - we had an excellent time.
Thank you so much!!
Charming dining area; really great food; wonderful service!!!
Love Bud's! The food is always great and the service is top notch.
We live nearby and had heard good things but hadn’t tried Bud’s. After this great experience, we’re sorry it took us si ling but we will definitely become regulars.
The service was excellent, some of the best I've had in the area. The food was good. Better than what I expected given how far out of the way it is.
The steaks and other beef entrees were excellent! Service was great and the atmosphere was cozy. Would recommend this place highly!
Our recent dinner at Bud's was delicious. I had the rockfish Chesapeake and my husband had the veal chop and both were perfectly cooked, as always. The new menu offers a variety of entrees, some smaller plates and more appetizers. Everything was great and Ken is always there to come say hello. It remains our favorite place for dining on any occasion. Carroll County is so lucky to have this gem! Marilyn
Bud’s at Silver Run should be considered a Carroll County treasure. The food range from pub food to fine dining fits the needs of any diner.
Although not enough can be said about the owner, if you would like to enjoy the full dining experience, make sure to ask for Fahreyn to be your waitress.
Ken’s cooking and Fahreyn’s waitressing skills will provide you five star dining every time.
We had gone as a birthday celebration and Ken the owner presented us with fabulous food and was very attentive to our enjoyment of the evening.
We have dined at Bud's for several years, and what we liked about the experience in the past was the fact we never felt rushed, typically we were not even handed a menu till long after our drink order was taken. It was a refreshing change to all other restaurants which just try to move you through the process as quickly as possible, perhaps this was an isolated incident. It just felt rushed this time, the service and food were great though.
Amazing crab soup, chili, crab cake, and great waitress!
Chef Ken always surprises with something unexpected and delicious. This week's soup of the day was excellent.
A wonderful meal and experience - this is the place to go for a great evening.
We always enjoy our dining experience at Buds. We have brought friends and family and the always rave about the meals. Great people Ken and Brooke, we love you.
This place is great! I highly recommend you check it out. You won't regret it. The food is amazing and thd people are just as great.
The atmosphere and friendly service is great. While the food was good, it was not special. Wine and drinks were limited but good selections overall. Desert was exceptional.
I do recommend this restaurant if you have never been before and for something different. Others may find something special during their experience.
Bud’s was a great find. I wish it was a little closer, but the food, service and atmosphere is worth the drive for us. Can’t wait til we can go back.
Had a great time and was able to talk to my date without it being loud. The Food was great! I'd really recommend the sausage and grits also the duck and the salmon was great too. Haven't been to the bar side yet but I've heard their bartenders are quite exceptional and can make anything you can think of.
Ken & staff do a fantastic job from beginning to end. The food is excellent and the wine list superb.
We love Bud's at Silver Run and highly recommend!
I was a little disappointed with the atmosphere at Bud’s. It was our first time here and we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The tables were a bit close and there was no music, making it a bit awkward. The atmosphere was definitely lacking. That being said, the food was good. Maybe we’ll try the bar if we go back again.
Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our meal which was prepared to perfection with interesting flair and just right proportions. The menu included something for everyone’s taste. Ambiance was perfect for a quiet dinner. Desserts were ordinary but certainly satisfying.
Chef Ken always has a unique take on what might otherwise be an ordinary meal. Well done!
I visited at Bud's at Silver Run with a friend of mine and we sat bar side.
The atmosphere is welcoming and fun -- several suggestions of drinks and appetizers were made by our waitress. The potato and leek soup sounded delicious -- one of my favorites.
My friend chose the blackened tuna salad and I chose the surf and turf burger. My friend mentioned that her meal came out to perfection - the tuna was cooked exactly to her liking.
My surf and turf burger was delicious - I added goat cheese which was the extra taste that I like.
The owner stopped by and chatted with us and gave us the highlights of the menu and also told us a bit about the restaurant.
Bud's at Silver Run has quickly become one of my favorite stops for a great meal. I will certainly return again in the near future.
Thank you for providing top quality meals and a great dining experience.
