Buddakan - Philadelphia
We had great service at the bar during restaurant week. It was fairly busy for a Monday night and everything came out promptly and tasted great. Service was superb.
This was my 2nd visit to Buddakan and I loved it as much as I did last time. Awesome date spot!
Food was delicious and service was spectacular
Restaurant Week, place was packed. But the food and the service was really good.
Great experience! Loved the lamb chops
Excellent Service and outstanding place for food. Highly recommended.
Amazing dinner. highly recommend the calamari salad and sea bass. Our food was perfectly cooked and service was top notch.
We reserved a table due to the center city restaurant week, and were surprised to learn that they do not participate on Saturday. The food was good, and we really wanted to add them to our favorites list. Wasn't expecting to that one, but oh well. Good food and service. Thanks
The food itself was for the most part, very good. The Chinese eggplant dish was a little too oily. The only real negative was that on this particular day it was very cold and rainy outside and the doors weren’t open until 5:00. It wouldn’t hurt to allow your guests who have the early reservations in a little early to wait inside away from the cold and rain. When they finally let us in a lady told the staff that it was freezing and rainy outside and her response was well it’s warm and dry inside. And then the lady was like that’s why it would have been nice to be let in early and the response was we don’t open till 5. So basically just brushing away our thoughts as if they weren’t important enough to be heard. In fact I heard from several people who were standing outside waiting that due to this poor treatment of guests, it might be their last time coming. So well done buddakan for driving away customers.
Service was AWFUL. We were seated next to the bathroom even though there were other tables available. We waited 25 minutes to order drinks. The server did not check on us—we had to ask for the check three times. Huge disappointment. Starr restaurants have lost their luster and we will not be returning.
The experience of the Buddakan was lovely, the atmosphere was relaxing and the food was amazing. Our waitress Ann was very engaging and detailed in her explanation of everything. Overall 10/10
Amazing service as always. Delicious food options. A bit tight in the dining area, however, well worth it.
The staff and food were amazing! Loved the ambiance as well!
Food was very good during Restaurant Week - but some portions were small, service was just fair, and a couple of the desserts were just ok.
Food was amazing. We went in there during restaurant week, not knowing it was restaurant, but was quite noisy. I am sure the crowd had something to do with it, but it was my wife's birthday, and was noted ahead of time, but nothing was done or said for this, which was a first at any restaurant when we go out on birthdays.
We were celebrating a family birthday and were 6 adults and 2 children. We come to Bukkakan every year at the birthday persons request. They put us in a round booth and added 4 chairs which was very tight. On top of that, we were back by the open kitchen and those people in the chairs felt the heat of the kitchen on their backs. There wasn’t even enough room for the dishes that we ordered to be placed on the table, because they bring the food out so quickly. All in all, not a very enjoyable dinner experience.
Birthday celebration. They did a great job of accommodating a vegan guest
Great atmosphere. Waiter was outstanding and the food amazing especially the duck wings. Will be back again.
The duck wings and sea bass were phenomenal!
Everything was amazing! The server was excellent and recommended great pairings. We went for restaurant week, but had to order the wasabi mashed potatoes as an extra. Thank god we did because they were to die for. And the donuts were also fantastic! The music is interesting... a bit club like but I didn’t mind it. Awesome ambiance and design too.
Excellent as always!
Great as usual
Lovely meal for restaurant week. Great service. The sea bass on the prix fix menu was superb.
Restaurant Week is an excellent time to try different restaurants, and Buddakan is a prime example.
Wonderful service from all and absolutely delicious large group meal during restaurant week to help celebrate a co-workers retirement.
Thank you so much
Ate here for lunch during restaurant week. Everything was tasty and service was quick.
My friends meet every year for restaurant week and Buddakan was our choice this year for lunch. I had a wonderful house salad, Edamame dumplings and Kobe slider. Everything was delicious especially the dumplings. Ended the meal with these wonderful donuts with orange sauce and chocolate, delicious!
Our server was super sweet, helpful and attentive. We all had a great time!
I love Buddakan. I remember the good all days when the salad was seven dollars. My how times have changed. It’s always a fun time with friends. I encourage them to make more fried dumpling options.
The seating was not good reservations was for high seating and got there still had a wait then got sat right in the entrance where it was cold
Went during restaurant week which was very busy. But there was no delay in our food which was delicious (edamame dumplings, monk fish, and dan dan noodles). Absolutely go here!
The food was phenomenal, especially the sea bass and Caesar salad. The level of service was also perfect - we felt pampered without too many intrusions..
Wonderful food and experience! The calamari salad was Devine and the edamame dumplings, delishhhh!
The Restaurant is always a pleasant experience. The food is the best in Philadelphia. I was a little irritated with the older waiter upstairs. The bill came to $75.00. He was given a $100.00 bill.
The change he brought back was a $20.00 bill and five ones.
A 20% tip is $15.00 but we gave him the $20.00 because he should have given his customer adequate change and not assume he will get the $20.00. I purposely took the five ones because I hate for someone to manipulate me.
We love Buddakan and will come back again and again. I just hope you will properly train your staff.
Always an enjoyable experience all the way around at Buddakan.
Everything was great!
A friend and I came to Buddakan for the Restaurant Week lunch special and we were NOT disappointed. The server was attentive and made great recommendations, the food was timely and delicious, and when I posted about it to social media I even got a response! My first (and certainly not last) experience at a Stephen Starr restaurant.
I love the food at Buddakan. The service is very good. I would love the place even more if it were quieter. The music is not pleasant and is too loud in my opinion. We had the 3 course special which is a lot of delicious food with many choices. My companion was allergic to soy and our waiter was able to recommend dishes with no soy. There was one dish she was served that apparently he did not know contained soy and he alerted her before she ate it. That dish should not have been served. However, if you are allergic to soy I would not recommend this restaurant because you will missing the best dishes.
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Buddakan. Our food was delicious and service was excellent. It did become a bit noisy when the restaurant filled up with lunch customers, but it didn’t impact the delightful meal we enjoyed. Buddakan is a MUST for anyone visiting Philadelphia who enjoys exceptional food and service.
Food was so delicious and waitress was very nice, the only thing is we made a reservation and had to wait for about 20 minutes. I think it was a lot of waiting time considering reservation was made.
My husband and daughter love this restaurant. I like it. The service was excellent. The servers are always kind and pleasant. The food was just okay. I have some dietary needs that makes going out to eat a chore. I understand that and always go prepared to handle whatever comes my way. My meal was just okay. It wasn’t anything special.
