Buddakan - Philadelphia
Amazing!! Been going for here since it opened 19 years ago. Unreal food, service, atmosphere. A philly classic backed by Steven Starr.
Great as always. Haven’t been in over 10 years and was just as good as I remember.
Fabulous food and impeccable service to celebrate our anniversary! Small plates are served when prepared and larger plates were served together. Nice flow and evening-
I went for my birthday . My first time going and initial reaction “wow it’s dark as hell in here “‘lol but once seated the waitress was very knowledgable and recommended some really good starters . The dumplings were amazing and The lamb chops were to die for . Absolutely worth the dining experience . Great for small parties
Excelente comida y servicio!! Me encantó!!
We went for my boyfriend birthday dinner & everything was amazing!
Great food, great service, our favorite restaurant in Phila.
I always enjoy eating at Buddakan. The food is really good.
We had a wonderful time for our anniversary. Dinner was very good but dessert was outstanding.
Love this restaurant! Only issue this visit was being seated upstairs. Not nearly the wonderful ambience of sitting on main floor.
The food didn't disappoint. It never does. The calamari salad is incredible.
Every aspect of our birthday celebration dinner was amazing the food the cocktails the desserts and the service thank you for making our celebration so memorable try the cod and the calamari salad you won’t be disappointed
Went for my daughters birthday. Service was great and so was the food !
Wonderful as always!
For one more time we had a fantastic time at Buddakan. It's amazing how after so many years they are able to provide such a consistent class A experience.
The food was not good. Dinner was over cooked Dessert was not edible.
The welcome staff greeted us warmly and immediately took us to our table. Our server explained the menu and answered our questions. She also checked in with us to make sure we were OKAY. The bus staff cleared our plates between courses and the food was delicious
Great stop before going to movies at the Ritz
I’ve been to Buddakan many times over the past 15 years, usually for a business meeting or with a group of friends. I’ve always loved the pad Thai and the zen gria. Unfortunately, those two things that I’ve e been looking forward to since I booked the Philly meeting months ago, we’re not what they used to be. The zen gria recipe has somehow changed. And the pad Thai was dry with a tart flavor and over cooked shrimp. My dinner mate’s filet was excellent, though. Just sort of meh for me
Excellent service, waiter was super attentive and came right over when he mistook Italian hand taking for a gesture. Food was so delicious and plentiful. The way it was served made it easy for everyone to par take and share which made the experience more enjoyable. Loved loved the big Buddha. Can’t wait to do again
We were celebrating my husband’s birthday.
Our food was delicious as it always is.
Our waiter Henry was exceptional.
It was excellent. Food quality, preparation and taste was excellent. Staff was very attentive and helpful.
Buddakan is always a great time! Best with a group of 6 or more and share. My favorite are the Crispy Calamari salad and Seabass. Always get the dumplings too!
Just perfect, once again, on all fronts! My fave!
Impeccable service! Excellent Restaurant Week menu! Good value.
We went to Budakan for Restaurant Week and to celebrate my birthday. It was our first time visiting the restaurant. We had a 9:30 pm reservation and yet we still had to wait nearly 15 minutes for our table, standing in the tight entryway, even though there were several open tables in the restaurant. Our server was friendly and made some great recommendations. The sashimi, cauliflower, wasabi mashed potatoes, sea bass and doughnuts were standouts! I would have given an overall 5-star review, except for the wait time for the table, the fact that I sat with an empty plate and an empty water glass several times during the meal, and my dessert was supposed to be presented with a sparkler, but was not. The server did bring out a sparkler with gelato afterwards, but I was ready to go home by that point. Overall, a very good experience.
Great evening. Good food, great atmosphere. Unbeatable deal during Restaurant Week.
Great food and service! The pork belly hoisin was awesome.
We went during restaurant week. Portions were off between the plates. Shrimp dish offered no sides and was more of an appetizer portion. Somewhat loud environment with the club music in the background. Otherwise the food was very good.
We have been here a bunch...I guess our mistake was going during restaurant week. Everything was dry or over salted like the options were made ahead and stored in hotel pans. We used to go here a lot 10 years ago and it was the place to be. It makes me sad that it was so underwhelming.
We were planning a cousin's get-together and decided to have it at Buddakan. The food was amazing, our server was very attentive and we had a great time. From our opening calamari salad to the dim sun donuts and everything in between, nothing could have been more perfect. We are already talking about our next visit!
Restaurant week price
A fabulous and delicious evening! Food was amazing and did not disappoint. The Strength cocktail was a surprisingly nice add to my meal.
Loved the food the service was excellent .
This was restaurant week for lunch and although they were packed we waited only 5 minutes for our tables and the service was efficient, the food came out quickly and was correct.
We love Buddakan and go often. This is the first time we went during restaurant week - never again!
SERVICE WAS AWFUL!!
Our drinks were brought to the table with our meal and we waited 24 minutes for our server to bring our dessert
The server hit me three times with the menus because he wasn’t paying attention to what he was doing!
Great food and company!
Good restaurant week
High quality food
Went for restaurant week and it was very crowded. Glad I had a reservation. Service and food were great.
