combines the serenity of Asia with the flamboyance of 16th century Paris. The menu features fanciful interpretations of Chinese dishes and delights even the most discriminating palates.

Sat under the aircon in an odd spot - pushed up against a class case of stuffed birds. Ate late and was a little neglected by the waitress - she was really nice when she did serve. I've been before and I wasn't very impressed this time. The food was good, however not amazing for the price. First impressions here are great, but perhaps not repeat.
Great food and atmosphere as always
It was my birthday and hubby and I decided to try this restaurant. I came in with high expectations because finding a table was quite hard. It’s a nice restaurant and the staff are friendly. The menu is quite good, lots of options but the quality of my food was average. We had general tso’s dumplings, lobster fried rice, and ribs. They were all either undercooked or overcooked. The wine selection is good and the best meal was the dessert. Before getting our table, we sat at the bar and the mojitos were very sweet. Given the quality of food and drinks, I thought it was overpriced. I’ll give it a one more shot but will have lower expectations.
Great to come back for 5th wedding anniversary, as usual great ambiance and service. Sadly the food was not as good as we remembered. With the lobster rice been cold and chewy.
Nice touch with the happy anniversary message on the free dessert plate.
Food and service exceeded our expectations. Great music and overall design and ambience.
Great food and service. But it is REALLY loud. Music was blaring.
Food was truly excellent. The interior is a bit dark but they make it work.
Great dinner with my beautiful girlfriend!
Amazing food, amazing service!
Nice restaurant! Great food!
Would prefer the side dish ordered come together with the maindish.
Great food. Great service. A food destination. Very trendy. A bit pricey but worth it.
Visited on recommendation by a friend of a friend and glad we did. The menu is great (I could have ordered anything and everything) and there is a great choice if you don't eat meat. Service was informal and friendly which I like, but efficient as well. I only marked down on one score (ambiance) as we were seated upstairs and not in the impressive room downstairs. It was fine upstairs but it looked like the atmosphere would have been better downstairs and the difference wasn't clear on booking. Great venue for a big group downstairs I think.
The whole evening was a very disapointing experience.
We arrived at 7pm sharp and had to wait for our tabel. So we waited at the bar and tried to get the attention of the bartender. He did not welcome us and just placed the menu in front of us. After 10 min we could join a hostess to our table, still wonder why we had to wait 10 min since the restaurant at that time was less than half full.
Our waiter was unintelligable, tried to give us the favorite dishes. We decided to order the dim sum appetizers for two, the charred filet of beef with fried rice and asian greens.
The appetizer was very basic, no refined tastes and the ribs were drenched in the glazing and extremely greasy. The crabcakes were like sponges.
The charred filet of beef, a so called favorite, was very basic prepared. No rub, no spices. Only a very creamy and butterlike sauce which was absolutely tasteless.
The coconut sauce with the fried rice was also very greasy amd the rice itself was sticky from the butter. The asian greens had so much fried garlic that it was the only thing that you tasted. And also very greasy.
After we more or less finished, quite a bit of food was left, the waiter did not bother asking if we enjoyed our meal. The left overs probably said it all.
The shocker is that we had to pay $250! With only two drinks and a bottle of water. The whole experience lasted only 1h15m.
Afterwards we both did not feel well and had upset stomaches.
All in all a one time visit, never go back. Just overpriced, incompetemt personnel and very basic, tasteless food.
Excellent venue to impress future employer or prospective customers. I would highly recommend to any Native NYC’er or Out of Towner.
Great cold noodle lime ginger sorbet flavor appetizer. Entrees like Brazed rib. And chili chicken. Cauliflower pops. Expensive but worth it $$.
Staff was very friendly and engaging! Food and service was excellent.
Amazing restaurant! 100% recommend! The food was out of this world!
Food was excellent- waitstaff was knowledgeable and made some awesome recommendations that were the highlights of our meal.
vibe was good
Great experience - Service is awesome and food is fantastic! Definitely one of our favorites in nyc
Was really looking forward to it but was so disappointed. Booked 4 weeks in advance. Shown to our table in what seemed the far corner of the restaurant and had to literally squeeze in between another table to get seated. The service was really rushed, it felt like a fast food restaurant. My main course was put on the table before i had finished my starter. I told the server that I hadn't finished my starter ( he could see that anyway) but still left the main course anyway. Definitely overrated and very expensive for what you got.
Great food as always but the restaurant had a system error that said our reservation was 30 mins before it actually was. They didn’t apologize at all, didn’t comp anything and sat us 45 mins late (since they had given our original table away). Pretty disappointing.
We'd been recommended here from someone who said it was "the best meal of their life" and after our meal that's not an exaggeration. Our very friendly, knowledgeable waitress was brilliant at suggesting food options and we went for the $95 tasting menu. Not a single item disappointed especially the dumplings, miso cod and beef fillet were amazing. However the desserts were out of this world definitely leave space for afters. would highly recommend this restaurant, it's the higher end of the price range but worth it, service, food and ambience is 100%
Food great, ambiance and service a bit pretentious.
I was recommended this restaurant by my company's President and all I can say what a phenomenal restaurant. The food, ambiance and drinks were all great. I can't wait to return.
Food is Ok...over price!!!
Susan our waitress was phenomenal
Great food, Great Venue A must in NYC.
The restaurant itself is very beautiful. We had asked when we made the reservation to sit in the main dining room area which is where all of the chandeliers are, but they put us upstairs instead. The music was so loud we could barely hear each other and the tables were so close together I could hardly squeeze through. The food was very good, but the waitress asked for our order as soon as we sat down and then the food was there within 3-5 minutes. It was very disappointing because it was a special occasion, so we wanted to take our time and enjoy the experience. They quickly picked our food up and we were out of the restaurant within 40 minutes of entering. I would have definitely liked for them to slow things down considering the prices and what should have been a special night. I would go again but only if I wanted to scream to be heard and be ready to stick up for myself more about them slowing down.
This is my 4th time here. I can’t say enough about this place. The food is unbelievably good never disappoint, drink always good. The service is top notch. If you go with a group it’s great for sharing! I will continue to come back again So it’s a little pricey but worth every dollar
It was my first time at Budakhan, i have to say that i was impressed!!
Food was great, service was incredible, view and details were special!!
I am very pleased and happy, will return a lot.
Absolutely fabulous everything it was hyped up to be!!!
Great! Amanda was a wonderful hostess and made sure we were accommodated.
It was fantastic as always! The short rib and scallion pancakes are the best - one order is never enough. Wait staff was just outstanding. Kevin’s our favorite!
Great anniversary dinner with my girlfriend it was a perfect setting.
We had a really lovely meal, short rib app was a standout, as were cauliflower lollipops. Sea bass entree was extraordinarily good. Service fun and exceptional.
