First meal in a restaurant in over a year! Chosen because of spaciousness and, of course, cuisine. Expensive and worth it.
Great Food awesome service time !!
Not authentic Asian food. Not recommended if that's what you are looking for.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always cooked to perfection and so flavorful.
As a vegan Vegetarian person, the food that we had, for the amount it cost was a disgrace. The food was tasteless and unexciting, no innovation. I could have gone to a hole in the wall in china town and had better food. The service was great! The restaurant is beautiful. If only the food matched it.
Unfortunately they did not live up to their reputation. Maybe if we ate meat etc it would ave been different. However in this day and age with so many incredible vegan options around, there is no real excuse.
Had an amazing experience here with my wife for her birthday. Food was unreal and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Loved the vibe also.
The best server and the food is always delicious. Glad to be back dining there again!! Best Peking Duck in the MPD
Spring roles pork bao charred filet short ribs all worth the price.
food was amazing and service was great from mostly all except from our actual server. she took awhile to take our drink orders and didn’t follow up as much in between plates. we saw more of the other servers but all in all, loved our dinner!
Will come back for more
We wanted to dine outdoors as indoor dining is not for us quite yet. Buddahkan has a great set up on the street with a relaxed vibe. The food was great, super tasty and I totally recommend the dumplings for 2!
Amazing food! We had brunch and everything was just delicious.
We have been returning guests at buddakan for many years. This time was very disappointing. Except for the edamame dumplings the food was very oily, general tsu dumplings were as if they were warmed in a microwave. We got to order at 19:20 and were told more than once that we have to finish by 21:00
I guess we will not be coming back
We've loved eating at Buddakan through the years, although we usually argue about whether we like the food or ambience more.
With dining moved outside due to COVID, we were able to enjoy the DELICIOUS food and drink without arguing (although their outdoor dining setup was great, with individual booths and heating).
Outside tables are the worst in Chelsea and they don't have heating
Obsessed! Love the atmosphere, good vibe and great food!
Amazing! I love this place! Always a great experience!
The food was delicious and they have a few vegan options
Amazing! The Tasting Menu was so good and worth it!
We had been recommended by a couple of people to try Buddakan and we were not disappointed. The ambiance was great, it felt like somewhere really special to be dining. The staff were friendly and the service prompt. The food was amazing, everything from the starters to the drinks was mouth watering! We would go so far as to say it was our best NYC dining experience to date.
Amazing food and desserts:)
Muy buen servicio, ambiente y comida.
The restaurant runs extremely loud music while presenting a menu of dishes “to share”. Sharing invites conversation, yet it is impossible to hear one another. It makes for an unpleasant distressing experience. The food is OK , but overpriced and not very special. I hope the staff complains seriously because the noise level is an occupational hazard for their hearing. The restaurant benefits from an enormous space, a definite asset that should be highlighted and enjoyed. Yet we could not wait to get out. No second drinks, no dessert, no coffee, though we had the time and were willing to indulge.. I suggest they rethink their strategy and overall presentation.
This is my favorite spot in all of New York! I have never eaten food sooooo good as this! Edamame dumplings my favorite dish! I cannot express how much I love this place. Absolute must if you’re in New York.
I brought my wife for her 42nd Birthday and we had a great time. We were seated right away, food and drinks were great and our waiter was exquisite! We’ve been to Tao and Buddakan was next level.
From start to finish, like usual Buddakan is a great place to go. Service was great and food was even better. Always a great meal.
Our waiter Spencer knew the whole menu. Recommended everything we ordered and loved it. Took care of us all night made sure we’re good. The rock shrimp was the best i ever had. Highly recommend this place.
Enjoyed our dishes. Space is lovely and staff is super charming.
Stand out dishes were the Edamame Dumplings and Pork Buns, The Steak with mustard sauce was excellent and cooked perfectly. The Chinese sausage fried rice was rather bland. Their whisky cocktail was perfectly balanced I could have had many more...
Overall great night made me want to come back with a larger party to try all the yummy dim sum offerings.
All the food was fried. Did not indicate that on the menu.
Buddakan used to be one of our favorite restaurants but the overall quality has sadly worsened, possibly as a result of cuts in kitchen staff due to covid. The food was either bland or poorly prepared. The jade shrimp dumplings were non-descript, the wok tossed noodles were seriously overcooked, the Asian greens were bland, and the mochi donuts, which used to be exquisite, were greasy and too chewy. The service was mixed -- it seems that they are understaffed at the moment. The restaurant industry has suffered such a blow and it's a hard time for everyone. But the prices at Buddakan haven't changed. It's a shame, since this restaurant used to be really consistent and perfect for special occasions. I wish them better times ahead.
Food was great. The fusion of flavors was absolutely satisfying. Value for my money!!!
The staff was amazing
Drinks were delightful & food ...superb!
Will be back soon
Thank you !
The food is uniquely delicious. I’ve only been twice, but tried multiple appetizers and entrees each time... they do not disappoint!
We had a great dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. I would def recommend this restaurant.
Nice job on outside dinning
Food was good, starters better than the main dish’s
Would come back and try a few new things
The food was good, but it was quite pricy for the quality. Waitress also kept trying to get us to spend more which is a bit frustrating and quite obvious.
I had a lovely time. Food and ambiance was great. Would definitely go again.
Good tasting food
