Buddakan NY Ratings and Reviews
It took quite a bit for them to seat us, which was irritating because I was super hungry but when they did I was happy because the food was outstanding. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to. The waiter was amazing, knowledgeable and asked about allergies and made sure that he accommodated us! The edamame dumplings and sticky rice were out of this world as well as the first chicken dish on the menu under the chicken section.
Cant wait to come back here! It’s amazing
Great atmosphere - seating is tricky but the space was huge so if you get there early you have a better choice. My waiter was outstanding but we felt as soon as we finished something someone swooped down and grabbed our dish - felt a little rush..
Buddakan is just great for a special occasion so I highly recommend it for bdays holidays etc
Overall I enjoyed my dining. I didn't care for the waiting that has to be done in the beginning even if one has a reservation. Other than that, the ambience was perfect, the decor beautiful, the service was okay and the food delicious!! The chili rock shrimps and lobster fried rice, deinifetly recommend.
Proposed to my partner. Had everything set up with management 2 weeks in advance. Execution was flawless and they did everything possible to make this occasion perfect. Congratulations followed by the manager on duty and the food was amazing. Next time we are in the city we will be back for sure many many times to re-live our special night.
We've been going to this restaurant since it first opened. Food is consistently good and though it's usually packed on Saturdays, we've never had issues with being seated on time or with the service, until this time. We waited nearly 45 minutes to be seated and we repeatedly had to try to flag down our waiter. We had a 7:45pm
reservation, was seated at 8:30pm and didn't get out of the place until 11pm! All because we had long dry spells trying to flag down pur waiter. Not good guys!
Beautiful decor and great location. Large drink menu and options. Large menu and options with delicious food. Large portions. Very attentive staff. Slightly noisy. We were there for a birthday and it was the perfect setting. The special occasion was acknowledged at dessert. Will definitely return.
Amazing dining experience! Everything was perfection from the ambiance, to the food, to the service. The restaurant itself is HUGE and breathtaking, but somehow also intimate and quiet. The food is spot on and I loved the soup dumplings, filet of beef, and pineapple rice. The only thing I didn’t love was the mochi donuts but maybe it’s just the “mochi” I didn’t like (first time having it). Exceptional service from Antonio. Would absolutely return!!!
My boyfriend and I dined here for our anniversary. We’ve visited twice in the past and have always been very pleased, however this time was slightly different. Our reservations were for 7p.m. And we were left waiting by the bar for 20 minutes. We most likely would’ve been waiting even longer if it weren’t for my boyfriend asking a server about the wait time. She was kind and explained she was just about to get us. Okay. I was honestly disappointed by the wait time, we made reservations for a reason and had to eat a little faster through out the rest of our meal because of this.
Once seated, finally, we ordered quite a few things. To start, Pork potstickers, cauliflower lollipops, oxtail dumplings, foie gras dumplings, tuna tartare, and rock shrimp, all were very good. For our main dish we shared the lamb and duck fried rice. We also had 2 carafes of banana sake and two other drinks. The food was great and our waitress was attentive. Would’ve been perfect if it weren’t for the twenty minute wait.
It’s my favorite place in city always . But i was disappointed . The mushroom noodles were soaked in sauce and sticky like sitting there since lunch . The amoked sea bass was fresh but it lacked taste to me . Fennel Doesn’t go with dish . Duck salad was the worst it ever was . Duck was super dry like left overs . I know food pricing has gone thru the roof but guys keep it way you used to do it ..
Had a business dinner at Buddakan several nights ago. I found the hostess ad seating policy to be very rigid and inflexible. In fact, the hostess was actually rude. That said, the waiter was WONDERFUL. The food was mediocre - especially compared to other high end Asian restaurants like Tao and Nobu...
