Buddakan NY Ratings and Reviews
We were lucky to be seated in the main dining room which was a treat since I was bringing three friends who were new to Buddakan. The ambiance is like no other restaurant in NYC. From the excellent service, to the fantastic food...we loved every minute. A few of our favorite menu items are the cauliflower pops, the braised short ribs, the spring rolls, the crispy shrimp and the lamb. If you want a fantastic dining experience that just screams NYC, check out Buddakan. I know we will all be back!
The design of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. I’ve been going there since they opened.
The food once went bad for a while and now it’s back the way it was, yes it’s really good. The dim sum appetizer, about $40 for 2 is a must! Unless you are vegetarian. I love the shrimp and lobster chow fun is wonderful.
Good teas, cocktails and wines as well.
I love the dessert called CHOCOLATE PISTACHIO CREMOSO. It’s a sophisticated ice cream dessert.
You don’t have to wear a suit at all, but dress nice. It’s perfect date spot. Do not bring kids. You will be annoying to everyone there !
Buddakan always offers a fun vibe and great food. I've been going there for many years and they make it fairly obvious where they seat people in the restaurant. It would be appreciated if they would offer a better table every now and then! But that's what you get when you hire young, inexperienced people to work the hostess stand. We'll go back, but we're hoping for more professionalism.
Great food as always. We usually go to the one in Philadelphia since we live near there however we were in NYC that day and decided to give it ago. The food was amazing but the music was WAY too loud and this is coming from a 27 year old. You feel like you have to shout at each other. Also coat check lost my umbrella. For such a former restaurant, and for those prices, coat check shouldn't be losing things.
The atmosphere , decor, lighting & music are all A+
Then comes the dining experience
The waiter was super genuinely polite well mannered and very attentive to everything
The food just perfect
We are vegetarian & the selection was perfect
Don’t forget the carrot cake
