Very good food and festive environment. Great drinks
Loved the ambiance!
Our server was incredible, knew the menu well and made the perfect recommendations. She was fun & personable, really added to our experience
Food was delicious, came out in a timely manner. All staff very friendly, especially bouncer at top of stairs.
Drinks ordered were given towards the end of our dinner, which upset my fiancé changing the mood and vibe of the entire experience
Excelent service!!!! “Over the top” food quality and taste!!!
Desserts are out of this world!!! Restaurant decoration is from magazine!!!!!
Amazing and delicious!! Tons of food off the regular menu.
Always love this restaurant but the music was just to loud
The food was really salty and mediocre. Nothing special but I’m a great part of the city and a fun atmosphere.
Sat outside- music a tad too loud but the food and service was great!
Once again a great meal. We have been to NYC several times as well as your Phili and now defunked Atlantic City Venue. Loved the AC location. The evening was wonderful. I have noticed our last few trips the food now all comes out at once. The joy of your establishment was the randomness that the food came out. Letting the whole grazing process happen.
Amazing service, amazing food! Will definitely BE BACK!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful food and service. Some new delicious items on the menu. Our server was terrific and very helpful. We are going back next week!
I have been coming here for over 10 years. Celebrating my wedding anniversary and hosting my company events. But I will never come here again. Every year they accommodate my wife and I with the same table for our anniversary, but this time the front desk booking person was rude and lied to me. They made us wait 45 minutes to sit us down, but brought us to a different area near the bar. They offered no apologies, no explanation. After refusing to sit near the bar They gave us another seat with noisy people. Listen Budakan owners... if you don't value your loyal customers, then you are the lover. I'm not coming back and will cancel all my company events.
Still one of my favorite NYC restaurants and the oxtail dumplings are always on point.
Fun atmosphere and I love the music! I enjoy eating here every time I visit New York City.
This food! OMG! Will be back every time I’m in NYC!
I love the edamame dumplings there. I have been going there for about 15 yrs.
There is always a exclusivity attitude with the staff towards the guest. You are lucky to be at their restaurant air about hoe you are spoken to. It’s loud there but I like the vibe!
This has been an old favorite for the longest. On this occasion my friend and I split some small plates, the short ribs pancake being one. Decided to order a couple dishes to take home for my mom. The oxtail dumplings being one of the dishes. I tasted one and it tasted the same as the short ribs that came with the pancake - dray and stringy. These dumplings were disappointing. I am willing to bet the short ribs were posing as oxtail dumplings. I am very familiar with tender slow cooked oxtails and these dumplings were at best adjacent. Not oxtails.
Great ambiance. Oxtail dumplings are a must!
Always delicious, fresh, and fun. First time back since the pandemic and it was better than ever! Go & enjoy!
I told them it was my friend’s birthday and they still sat us by the bathroom. Food was good but the service was lackluster in the restaurant. Bar service and drinks were great though.
The atmosphere was beautiful. The service was excellent and prompt. Our waitress was very helpful and patient being that it was our first time there. The food was great. I recommend the oxtail dumpling....
Loved the food and attentive service. Thank you team for taking great care of us.
We each ordered one appetizer - they arrived 1/2 hour apart!! Server & manager said it was because one was hot & one cold. Talk about bad service & lame excuses. No apology offered.
Both had the same main course & they were tasty but very, very small - also quite expensive. Wine list very overpriced, too.
Overall, poor service & attitude & ripoff dinner.
WE WILL NEVER RETURN
First time at your place…. Need to be a special
Amazing had oxtail dumplings lobster rolls Alaskan cod short ribs and crying chocolate for desert
First courses were good, main dishes wrote disappointing. Noisy and non friendly slow setvice
Candle wax fell into my water and by mistake i drank it, they served me peanuts even though I am told them that i am allergic. The waitress were arrogant.
Everything is good until the people next to us started face timing and became very loud, laughing loud via FaceTime lasted about 30 minutes between eating and face timing.
Also, the sitting arrangements are I think too close considering pandemic is not over and in fact spiking cases again. I hope something can be done about these 2 issues so everyone can have a pleasant, enjoyable evening.
The aesthetic of this place is what really makes it worth the dinning experience. Unfortunately the food is pretty much fair. The salmon dumplings and tuna tartare springs rolls were great. The meals however, not as flavorful as one would like, pretty bland for the most part. The desserts were good also. This is definitely more of an appetizer and desserts type of place.
It was a truly wonderful experience. Our server Beth was splendid and despite a longer waiting period for coffee and having to have asked 4 ppl for a cup of Java, it couldn’t have been more perfect :).
The service at Buddakan was impeccable. The food was amazing. The ambience was perfect! Everything about this place is amazing. I highly recommend this place for a romantic night out with a partner or for an intimate gathering with family & friends. The food is amazing!
Amazing! Try the lobster fried. Music was a bit loud but the service is top notch and the food is worth it
The dinners were disappointing. Very oily, no flavor I think he noodles. The appetizers were very good. (Dim Sum for 2)
Always a great experience! Highly recommend
Excellent experience for my daughter's 16th birthday! We were in NYC for the weekend, and I wanted to take her to a trendy restaurant yet not so sophisticated that a teen would feel uncomfortable. This place was definitely it! The ambiance felt like an exclusive club. The music was just right. The energy was jovial. The service was amazing. The food was delicious. Dinner for three with dessert was around 100 dollars per person (before the tip), but WELL WORTH IT! I definitely will be back.
The food was not as good as in the past. The service was good though. We sat outside and it was hot and noisy - ready to go back indoors.
