The food is tasty and the restaurant has unique ambience but there are not enough gluten free option and the ones they had came too late.
The food was amazing and the place itself is gorgeous. There was a baby close to my table and he kept crying all dinner long. Honestly for such an upscale place they should have a designated area for families, since the tone of the restaurant is not suitable for kids.
Buddakan is always a great experience
Overall great experience! It was my first time here and the food and wait staff were amazing. I'll definitely be returning!
Victor was informative, attentive and an extra exceptional server! Kudos again!
I liked this place but two of the dishes we ordered never came out and we paid for them anyways??
Overall very good but a little miffed that we paid for things we didn’t end up getting.
The reviews is for outdoor dining. The money you are paying is partly for the atmosphere and ambience, which you won’t get outdoor
Birthday dinner- service was poor.
Food was very good particularly the pork buns and black cod. Wine was good but had a lot of sediment in glass. Desserts were very good also. Had to ask for more water but overall a very enjoyable evening.
Celebrated my birthday at Baddakan! I’ve been wanting to go for a while now. One of my besties offered to take me there and I was immediately excited!
Upon arrival, we checked in and the hostess proceeded to lead us to the outdoor seating. Originally, when booking the reservation asked to be seated outside. Once we got there, we changed our mind as our third party canceled. The hostess hesitated on granting us seating indoors even thought it was clearly a slow night and there were MANY empty seats. After an almost 10 minute wait, she lead us to our seats. When seated, our waiter was equally disappointing. He was very inattentive, he rushed the service he was will to give us and was even very rude in his explanations of the menu. A group come in after us and was seated right next to us. Miraculously, that once short and curt attitude has disappeared. He was now mild mannered, gave them menu suggestions, explained what wine pairs well with their selection, he was even so courteous he helped them flip through the pages of the menu. Familiar with this type of treatment of “certain” individuals is definitely NOT a new phenomenon, still upsetting that it still exists.
While I enjoyed the ambiance and the company of my friend’s company, I can’t say the same for this establishment. Please do BETTER!
Love the place, service and the overall vibe. Just that as the evening progresses it does a bit noisy which can be a bit annoying.
Magical ambulance. Wonderfully delicious food. Try the edamame dumplings and chicken dumplings in broth. Wow.
Service friendly but slow and inattentive for this caliber of restaurant. Management should pay more attention to customer service details.
We got there and the place is very dark. We’re told to wait on the lounge and that someone would take us to the table. It took over 20 minutes and we sat almost on top of the party next to us (and this is during the COVID pandemic). The music was so loud that we barely talked because it was imposible to hear each other. The Peking duck and the chicken dumplings were amazing, but the noise level and the ridiculous amount of people in the place ruined the whole experience. We didn’t even asked for desert, because we wanted to leave the place as soon as posible.
We ate outside. The space is a little primitive, given the cost of the meal. Nonetheless, the server was attentive and the food was predictably good.
Great birthday celebration for my husband. Service & food were great!!
Excellent service. Food was so good. Everything went by fast.
We went to experience the Resturant and they gave us table on the temporary patio without any ambiance by the street!!!
Why would you go to this Resturant if you want to sit outside?
We arrived at our reserved time. We were immediately seated at a great comfortable booth. It was amazing with the loud music blaring my guests and I did not have to shout!
This was all our first time. What a great space!! Shock and awe!! The only thing missing was a fantastic drag queen to seat us !! Everyone then could make a grand entrance!!
Food was fantastic. Tuna tartare spring rolls!!! What!!!
Lamb, chicken, and monkfish!!’ All portions large enough to share. We did. Our side was cauliflower. All three shared and it was more than enough.
We chose a French white wine blend. Delighted with its reasonable price of $50 bottle. Wine worked perfect with the sweet / spicy hot essence of the food.
Finally the desserts. Never order them but food was so good all of us ordered different items. We shared. My banana cheesecake was orgasmic. Couldn’t finish it.
Can’t wait to return!!
Unfortunately it is getting so loud here with the music you can’t carry on a conversation with someone even next to you.
Service was terrible. Would not recommend.
Our waitress was exceptional, clearly well trained and experienced. Gracious, good menu recommendations, food was brought to table faster than expected. The food was some of the better tasting of its type we've had and portions were larger than we expected from a high end restaurant. This was a special occasion and they made in positively memorable. Music was the right level and vibe, we were seated with other couples (not noisy large groups). We were made to feel welcome. I'd refer anyone looking for a top venue without pretension to eat here.
Very great experience nice staff good food and drinks
Had out best dinner in NYC! Location, style, liveliness- everything perfect!
I’m very upset because my credit card was not accepted as I was told the restaurant had issues accepting credit cards from another country.
Great atmosphere. Food so so. Would have more appetizers next time.
Intimate tables, great food and atmosphere! Try one of the tasting menus!
Wonderful food & drinks with a knowledgeable server who made every effort to celebrate us as a couple. Hostess could take lessons from our waiter. She did her job but was not warm.
Excellent service. Delightful waiter who was extremely knowledgeable about the restaurant’s offerings. Gorgeous ambience. Couldn’t ask for me. Will be back.
Spence was an incredible server and made our experience really enjoyable! We loved the Tranquility cocktail! The restaurant was quite loud and difficult to converse.
Fantastic food, great ambiance, great service!
Amazing food!! Honestly everything was fantastic. Our server was the sweetest! Super warm and welcoming!!
Had a very delicious dinner. Elizabeth our server was excellent and the crying chocolate is the best dessert.
The small plates are AMAZING!!! Go here for good drinks and great small bites. The large plates lacked flavor
Great atmosphere and service. Food is lack luster!
Great ambiance, service and food. Highly recommend going there for a date or special occasion.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere!
Nice ambience and good food. Service is quick and efficient. Filet Mignon is excellent.
Amazing interior space and atmosphere. I was impressed before we even sat down. We enjoyed the dim sum tasting for two. Great start to the meal. The menu has many great options and the dishes were excellent. Service was spot on. Highly recommend.
After experiencing this place, I have to be honest, I don’t get the hype. The restaurant itself was very nicely decorated and upscale. But that’s where the pros pretty much stop.
The food was not good. Drinks were quite simple and mediocre, especially for the price. The appetizers were decent but the entrees were quite bad. The duck and beef were over cooked, the broccoli looked like it had been microwaved and then they added a tiny bit of hoisin on top, and everything just lacked in flavor.
Service was also quite bad. Our server took almost a half hour between check ins so while we enjoyed conversation, we had to wait forever for the check. They didn’t even refill our water throughout the meal and we had to flag people down
Overall a pretty terrible experience especially for the price. There are much better upscale Asian fusion restaurants in NYC
