combines the serenity of Asia with the flamboyance of 16th century Paris. The menu features fanciful interpretations of Chinese dishes and delights even the most discriminating palates.
Need to book at 3:30 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
First the food is delicious! Second polite good service. Our waitress was super. Love the Buddakan music. We will return often!
Our server was so friendly and sweet!
Other than the front desk person (younger tall thin male) that responded with attitude when I asked him a simple question, the experience was delightful. Our server went above and beyond dealing with some food allergies. Food varied a bit with quality but nothing fell into the “bad” category. Manager moved us into the main dining room, which was very nice of him. Fun place and all four of us enjoyed the experience, the food and our server. We’d go back!
In nyc for a weekend trip. Great vibe and food!! Our sever was very nice and prompt!
It was too loud to talk easily across a table of 4....it can have a fun vibe without being soooo loud...
This was a really nice restaurant and well worth the wait. I have heard a lot about it from my friends but this was my first time. It was a great experience, from checking in to coat check to being seated. the atmosphere in Buddakan is unique. Our waitress Elaina was brilliant from the choices of drink recommendations to what foods are popular. Look forward to coming back again soon.
The General Tso’s dumplings were amazing! So was the grape dessert. The rest of our meal was very good — crab legs and lamb chops. My fourth time there and it did not disappoint!!
Great ambience and fantastic food and wine.
Hidden gem and will definitely recommend it to friends as a must do.
everything went great!
Akoestiek dramatisch , geen gesprek te voeren
Love the Peking duck
We were seated in the large room. It was very beautiful and our service was excellent. A nice place to celebrate with friends.
Terrible experience at a birthday dinner for my wife. Our food arrived so late that my wife had already lost her appetite. Once it arrived it was salty and one of the dishes was so spicy that we couldn’t eat it.
Even though Buddakan tried to make up to us by taking items off our bill (for which thanks) it was an experience which my wife called ‘worst birthday dinner ever’. It basically killed our romantic evening.
We won’t come again.
My Absolute Favorite Restaurant in NYC!! I've been there many times and haven't been disappointed yet!!
Was a so-so experience. Been there before,, and I feel it went down in quality. Ordered a a bunch of dishes and nothing was wow. Food felt ordinary for the price, lacking passion. Won’t go there again
Absolutely shocking terrible experience why is this is on open table!? Appalling customer service was waste of time booking would not call this a restaurant it’s a nightclub. No system to make sure you get your table just a free for all and left waiting for table with no idea when we would get it. Left in end, terrible experience overall
Very bad service ! Coming over from The Netherlands and wanted to have diner here, after we came in we had to wait for 1 hr in a very noisy space with no space and no drinks. No one was able to give info as they were very busy running around being very ineffective. Would not suggest this place to anyone!
We had a reservation for 8:30 pm and did not get seated until 9:30 pm which I find completely ridiculous. There is no reason that should happen. We were about to walk out the door because we were going to miss our show when they said our table was ready. Although we hated the wait, our experience from this point forward was phenomenal. The manager came and apologized and promised to get our food out as soon as possible. It was 9:30 and we needed to leave by 10 to make our 10:30 show. They fed us right away and we were out of there just before 10! Our server was very kind and speedy. Everyone was nice and apologetic. The food was outstanding. Just didn’t appreciate the wait time when we had a reservation.
We had a 8:15 reservation. We arrived early and were told to wait in the lounge area and have a drink. The lounge was packed and we were unable to get close to the bar. We managed to get the attention of a waitress and ordered a few drinks. Continued to sit for another half hour. Finally we were sat after going up the host stand and reminding them we were there. We were sat in the back corner next to the bathroom and the service area. Appetizers were good, entrees were fine. Ambiance was very different from main room, felt very casual. Date and I felt sick to our stomachs after eating here. I’d prefer Tao Downtown across the street for similar food, much better atmosphere and service.
Our server Callie was amazing ! She was so attentive and friendly
We waited almost two hours past our reservation time
Our reservation was postponed by 30 minuites and it was super crowded and noise. The music was really loud and we could barely here each other at our table. The receptionist was not really helpful when we arrived and I got the feeling that she was annoyed when I talked to her and asked about our table which was behind schedule. The service at the table was nice and really quick and the it only took 5 minutes for the food to arrive. The food was fine but nothing spectacular and for us it was definitely not worth the price when looking at the whole experience. The restaurant was really beautiful but we got seats in a dark corner so we could not really enjoy and see the restaurant from
there. I would not go again
Horrible they sat us 120 minutes late and were very rude!!! Do not recommend!
Always a great experience at Buddakan. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the ambience was amazing!
Food was great and drinks was very tasty .Would recommend a friend .
Food was very good and service was ok. Had to wait 40+ minutes, in a jam packed lounge, to be seated, although we had a reservation.
Always a fun place to go for dinner, especially if friends visiting from out of town. Very busy Thursday evening and despite having a reservation waited nearly 30 mins to be seated! not cool at all! The service from the server was efficient and friendly. Food was good - consistent and fair portions.
Great food, beautiful restaurant!
Every time west come to NY we go to Buddakan a crear experience
can't keep a conversation with someone between 9.30 and 10.30 its just too noisy, which also makes it impossible to get the servers attention most pf the time. If you go take your noise cancelling earphones
We waited for about 45 minutes after our reservation to get a table the noise level was extremely high could barely hear each other talk besides that food was great as usual service was great as usual
We waited more than 1 hour to be at the table...
Food is good but not exceptional
The musique is to noisy you can’t talk with your friend or wife
And the service wasn’t good we asked for our table and one of the waiter didn’t look at us and simply told us go to see the manager.... not profesional at all..
For the price you expect more services
No cumplen con la
Our server, Erin was outstanding. Food was terrific.
I am a Buddakan regular. I had a confirmed reservation; I was joined by a VIP guest. In spite of speaking with three employees in the cocktail lounge and personally addressing my concerns at the reservation desk, 50 minutes past the reservation time and we still did not have a table. We left. I was beyond humiliated. I will never go to Buddakan again. I’m done. There are too many other good restaurants in NY.
All around wonderful experience. Brought some colleagues to dinner and ended up being the best $ I spent on the whole trip. They were wowed!
Service was amazing and the food was great. My request for quieter table was delivered upon and I was very happy.
Server was superb. Extremely accommodating....very helpful. Made the night even better
