Bud & Marilyn's is a retro American restaurant from Chef Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran. The menu features updated American comfort food utilizing fresh and local ingredients. Our bar features local craft beers, handmade American classic cocktails and an affordable wine list. Our focus is simple - good old American cooking, great drinks and warm hospitality.

The comfortable dining room seats up to 100. The Mid-century modern design evokes the feeling of an updated rec room from the 1970's and features vintage American flea market finds from all over the country. Table seating, bar seating and chef's counter seating are available.

Bud & Marilyn's is located in the heart of center city at the corner of 13th & Locust Street in the bustling Midtown Village neighborhood.

Wasn't sure what to expect but was recommended to this restaurant by a friend and it was outstanding. The app Pretzel was great to split along with the perogies for 3 people. The Buttered Buns are delicious and the Short Rib Beef Stroganoff did not dissapoint for comfort food. The Fried Chicken is awesome as well. Service was there when needed and attentive. Highly recommend and would definitely go back next time I am in Philly.

We were recommended to go here on our visit to Philly recently. It was definitely a cool vibe and had excellent service but the meals were overpriced for the portion sizes. Also, the menu was limited and nothing special in my opinion. Spent almost $100 for a few small bite size mediocre sandwiches and 2 cocktails...not my kind of place I guess.

One of the best meals I have had in my life, and that means something. Get the fried chicken (I’ll say it again- get the fried chicken) the wedge, and the Nashville Hot Chicken buns. Their hot dice is great, too.

We were visiting Philadelphia. Read about it on the web. Sounded like a good restaurant. It was very good. Food was delicious. Our server Zach (I think that was his name) was exceptional!!!

It was really crowded on a Sunday for brunch, but with a reservation we were seated right away. The food was really good and the staff were all super friendly! Definitely a great brunch spot.

This place has become a frequent stop for me. Although the hostess stand is not always friendly the wait staff and bar staff are excellent

Bud & Marilyn's was delicious, a comfort food feel without being too too heavy. The Nashville Hot Buns were phenomenal.

Delicious, good drinks and great waitstaff. Very attentive and the waiters recommendations were spot on. Short Rib stroganoff with horseradish sour crema was amazing and hubs had Marilyn’s Fried chicken n biscuits that he really enjoyed. We will be back!

The moment you walk in you will love it. The restaurant has a dim light, intimate setting that will appeal to those of us who want to add a special ambiance to our meal. The select menu offers a limited but amazing choice of drink appetizer meal and dessert selections. Pay attention to the recommendations from the wait staff, they know what they are talking about.

Very good meal at this vibrant spot. Drinks were fun, and main courses of the beet Reuben and steak huevos rancheros were true stars. The dessert, which was described as having a lot of chocolate in it but had very little, the mark. That said, the desserts usually are stars in their own right, just not today.

Delicious food, fun & friendly staff. Great decor. Floor was a little slippery on the walk to the bathroom.

The noise level on this visit was way up. Perhaps it was because we ate at a more popular time, Friday night, and the restaurant was full. The waiter couldn’t hear my order and we ended up sharing one order of fried chicken. I actually ordered two. But I would still return. The food is excellent.

Was in town to attend a performance at Kimmel Center. Had dined here previously and had a good experience. This experience elevated my already high expectations based on previous experience. We were able to enjoy shareables such as the fried curds and pierogies which were both magnificent. The menu was perfect for a Friday during Lent and I didn’t feel deprived in any way as the menu selections were well thought out.

A tasting menu was advertised for Valentines Day but it was really a Prix Fix. Portions were really too large & food was just so so. Also the courses came out to quickly.

My experience was very good at Bud & Marilyn's. The ambiance was great even though on this night there were a lot of people it still felt intimate. The service was incredible! All the waiters and staff were clearly well trained, patient and skilled. The food was good and the proportions were impressive. I did not get to see the whole menus because on this occasion they had a special Valentine's Day menu that was an abridged version of their full menus but because of our experience I will return again at some point to get the full experience. This restaurant is a little pricey, but worth it for the staff, and ambiance alone.

Simple business lunch for four. The reservation was a little difficult because of it being Valentine's Day and the Open Table website but it all worked out fine and we were pleased with the whole experience.

Had lunch before the theater matinee. The food was served not and timely on a busy Saturday. Service was attentive. I like the understated decor that seems retro as in contemporay 60s leather and wood.

I went here for the first time to celebrate a birthday and it was great! Olivia was our server and she was super friendly and answered all of our questions. We started with the cheese curds and the pretzel rolls and then got the Marilyn’s Fried Chicken and Short Rib Stroganoff. We finished off the meal with their delicious Funfetti Cake. Would definitely go back and try out more from the menu!
