Bud & Marilyn's
The drinks and food are good, the menu is creative, and the biscuits are excellent
My boyfriend and I come here often and split the fried chicken and cheese curds. We keep coming back because the cocktails are fab, and the food is SO FAST and consistently hot and delicious. It’s a favorite for us.
Blood orange sorbet was amazing
Excellent food and service. The Nashville chicken buns were excellent. We’ll be back.
Loved eating here! Very unique, very delicious!
Very appealing menu, comfort food with flair and elegance. And the food was delicious. Very noisy.
B&M is an attractive venue though too noisy. Service was pleasant, informed and efficient. Food was interestingly different and nicely presented but chef got carried away with the salt shaker. Drinks OK. We would dine there again if circumstances warranted but would probably not make a special trip.
Excellent meal and customer service. Very accommodating staff and delicious food.
Excellent meal. Good portion size. Staff was very nice.
I took my mother here for Mother’s Day. Although the food was great, the service was very slow. Our waiter left and never returned, so we waited for our check for a while before another server asked us if we needed anything. The Nashville hot buns were amazing, my mother loved the pork chops. I ordered the scallops, which were good, but not amazing. We ordered the special for dessert, a cinnamon pecan bread pudding, that was great. I’d definitely visit again and would recommend to someone.
Fabulous food and great service. The scallops were the best I've ever had, and everyone else raved about their dinners as well.
Always a fine meal
The food and ambiance were excellent - can't wait to eat there again!
Although it was Mother's Day and very busy, we were seated right away according to our reservation. The brunch entrees were delicious. and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had the pecan roll - very sweet, but such a treat!
Had never been to B&M before and thought we'd give it a try before seeing the ballet recently. Boy were were incredibly pleasantly surprised. We had a fabulous meal, fantastic waiter and perfectly made drinks. It was probably the best overall dining experience I've had in a long time. We didn't have to wait long for our courses (in fact, the food came out a little too quickly, but we never felt rushed to finish our meal), the food was delicious, savory, and perfectly cooked, and our waiter was attentive and delightful. There is a humming, vibrant vibe and the 1950s retro decor is not over the top. It was a little loud so it was hard to hear each other at times, but it didn't bother us too much. We shared 3 appetizers (crispy cheese curds, warm buttermilk biscuits, and grilled heirloom carrots), ordered 2 entrees (grilled prime steak for me and fontina and chard stuffed meatloaf for my friend), had 5-6 cocktails (mostly cosmos made perfectly to order), and shared one dessert (a chocolate peanut butter cake of some sort). I've been to Wisconsin several times where cheese curds are basically the state dish, and B&M's cheese curds were better (or maybe what I always hoped they'd serve in WI). They were lightly breaded and crispy, and the cheese had a perfect texture. These were elevated cheese curds. The roasted carrots were also delicious, and the buttermilk biscuits (one of their specialties) were warm yummy savory goodness (there could have been a little more honey butter served with them but I didn't ask for more so that's my fault!). The grilled prime strip steak is served with a marrow bone, and our waiter informed me of this as I ordered it in case I might be put off by seeing a piece of skeleton on my plate and wanted to order something less corporeal. I wasn't, and didn't, and my medium rare prime steak with melted marrow was divine. I raved about our meal to my husband and children later that night and told them we will definitely be returning as a family.
Great food with many options. Never tasted the fish Chard before and it was similar to salmon and very well presented with the sauce and vegetables. Very clever desserts. Ordered the Vegan Vanilla ice cream w/almond roca and it was made w/coconut milk and wonderful. Great location next to Kimmel center w/parking across the street. Will go again.
Nice place, good food and service. Unique tasty food.
Amazing vegetarian options, I definitely recommend the biscuits with mushroom gravy! The lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes & Singapore Sling we’re also really good! Super cute atmosphere. We’ll be back again.
If you can deal with the deafening noise level, the food is well worth it. Everything looked amazing, and I had the lemon ricotta pancakes that were delicious. I tasted the chicken and biscuits which were also wonderful. The wait staff was ok. I would definitely return.
Everything we ordered, with the exception of the cheese curds, was incredibly over seasoned and inedible. We were disappointed as we’ve heard great things- perhaps brunch isn’t the right thing to have here, but after spending $70 on it for 3, we aren’t inclined to try dinner.
Great meal, great atmosphere. Definitely will be going back.
Always, always a fan favorite! Best drinks, apps, and of course the fried chicken! Service is great, nicest staff in town! Can’t decide what you are in the mood for? Have picky family or friends? Not to worry everyone will be happy that you chose Bud & Marilyn’s.
Excellent food and service. Menu had lots of interesting and unusual choices that were all delicious
This being our first visit to Bud & Marilyn's restaurant, we were eager to experience it. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and were seated immediately. Our server was excellent -- prompt and attentive without being intrusive. As the restaurant filled the noise level rose noticeably, making conversation difficult.
Our meals were delivered promptly and the flavors were excellent. Portion size was good. The only negative was that both the appetizer and the main course tasted excessively salty. In future, I would recommend asking for "no salt" on the meal.
Wine and beer selection is very good, and the prices are reasonable for a restaurant of this quality.
Amazing place for food and drinks, would recommend to anyone looking for a fun night in the city!
Bud and Marilyn’s is by far one of my favorite restaurants. They are constantly serving up delicious food. Their menu changes often, and each dish they add is better then the last. I highly recommend the fried chicken, beef stroganoff, cheese curds... you just can’t go wrong with anything you choose. Don’t forget dessert, their peanut butter malt cake and funfetti cake - just like homemade.
I love Bud and Marilyn’s!
Food and service were outstanding! Definitely coming back soon!
It was our first time to Bud & Marilyn's and I can't wait to go back. The service was excellent, food delicious and atmosphere was fun.
The food at Bud and Marilyn's was outstanding. From the Cheese Curds appetizers and pretzel rolls, you start off with a great eating experience. The Marilyn's Fried Chicken is outstanding - very juicy and flavorful.
Excellent food. Unique menu and so delicious.
Second visit to Bud and Marilyn's, which is the perfect spot for a pre-show repast. This time it was brunch - prompt and attentive wait staff, both brunch entrees (biscuits and gravy, and reuben) were excellent. This is one of those places where fellow diners strike up easy conversation, and you can't help but rave about your meals to each other. Has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Loved our brunch here - great atmosphere and the food was amazing especially the grapefruit mimosa cocktail
The staff were outstanding.
The fried chicken was OUTSTANDING! We wish we lived closer! Service is excellent, vibe is fun and exciting, and the food is excellent. Comfy, casual, and delicious!
Pretty much the best restaurant ever.
Food is very mediocre. Sounds good on the menu but taste and execution very average. Ambience is nothing special. Service was excellent. Good cocktails.
Great dinner before theater
We split a hot chicken bun and Cobb salad for lunch. The salad, weirdly, came out before the appetizer. Salad was great, but not a traditional Cobb, because beets. Virgin Mary was awesome.
Great place before a show at the Kimmel. We were running late and asked our server,Len, for suggestions for dishes that would be quick. He suggested the delicious fried chicken and the lamb steak which was just perfect. Also had a Hemingway daiquiri and a Mai Tai, also very tasty. Our meals were brought out promptly and we didn’t feel any need to rush to make the show on time. We’ll go back!
