The comfortable dining room seats up to 100. The Mid-century modern design evokes the feeling of an updated rec room from the 1970's and features vintage American flea market finds from all over the country. Table seating, bar seating and chef's counter seating are available.
Bud & Marilyn's is located in the heart of center city at the corner of 13th & Locust Street in the bustling Midtown Village neighborhood.
Food was fantastic and service was awesome. Thank you for a great evening.
The food was great! I didn’t care so much for the cheese curds — too salty, but those sliders were the bomb.
The appetizers could use more variety. The buns were a bit dry, pierogies were excellent. The meatloaf and scallop entrees were superb. Trust me order the meatloaf- outstanding and it included the heirloom carrots which were under the appetizer section and we had wanted to try so more bang for your buck. The biscuits were amazing. Noticed ppl getting the fried chicken and salmon entrees and they looked outstanding. Desserts were spectacular, bread pudding on point. We got two shareables, the biscuits, two dinners, two desserts and four coffees for $100.
Overall excellent experience. Great comfort food in a vibrant atmosphere. You could dress up in anything from casual to “dating” attire and still feel comfortable. Would definitely like to go back sometime.
Chicken not as crispy as I remember. And my salad green s we’re dressed
Everything was really good—food, service and atmosphere—all but the restrooms which needed cleaning and toilet paper. Waiting to use them was long but understandable.
Loved the restaurant and will return.
Great food and service as always. Get the cinnamon roll, best ever.
I wanted to like Bud full of sediment in the glass. Apparently got the bottom of the bottle. The menu is pretty limited for a full meal. Mostly sandwiches and fried chicken. I did get the fried chicken and I must say, that was well done and very tasty. But for my pre-theater stops, I don't think I'll be going back.
We were put at a very small booth, even though the restaurant was empty! Very uncomfortable!!My husband and I are tall so we feltpushed in.
I ordered Matzo ball soup. They brought it out when they brought my entree. I had to send my entree back. The soup was so salty I could barely eat it!! I had a Cobb salad which was delicious. I don't think we will be going back!!
Great food and awesome service!
Delicious food (recommend Marilyns Fried Chicken AND the cake). Very nice, friendly service and overall experience was wonderful.
Was recommended by a friend for celebrating our wedding anniversary. Service was exceptional and the food was amazing. The scallops were cooked to perfection & the braised beef stroganoff was rich and flavorful. Highly recommend
Both of us got sick from dinner.
Great place, We come here every time in Philly. Great food and ambiance. The chicken and meatloaf are amazing.
The food was out of this world. I had the leg of lamb and it was delicious. The kuzco's served with the lamb was extremely tasty, our waiter was awesome and I would definitely go again.
Bud and Marilyns came recommended by my brother and we were not disappointed! The meal was fabulous, the service was on point - we had a great time! It got rather noisy as it filled up, but it wasn’t uncomfortable.
One of my favorite restaurants in Philly. Always good food and service.
I hope this was just a misstep... I've had brunch here before, and it was lovely. This time, we were not sat until 24 min. after our reservation time. Our food then came out about 5 min. after we ordered which felt very rushed, and particularly disappointing, considering how long it took to even get our table. We all ordered the same thing, to be easy. I specified no toast, but alas, my plate had toast. The drinks and food itself were fine, but I thought the portions were rather stingy compared to the last time I was there. There was no salt or pepper at the table--had to ask. We were also offered to check out coats AFTER we had finished eating... huh? Again it made us feel rushed/unwelcome, even though we were there for less than an hour. It was just not a great experience, unfortunately.
We had brunch there this past Sunday ,
It was both my sister and my first time.
The service was outstanding the food was Amazing as well. As busy as the place was our waitress didn’t miss a beat. Had a lovely time can’t wait to go back !
The restaurant was quite busy, so I understand their desire to turn tables over. However, we were interrupted multiple times by servers asking if we wanted to box up our food within 10 minutes of starting to eat — it was pretty obvious we were still eating, yet they kept trying to cut our meal short to open up the table. All of this despite the fact that we had a reservation and actually were out of the restaurant in just a bit over an hour.
Overall, the food, service, and ambiance was great, but the staff really needs to give guests some time to actually eat their food before trying to prematurely end their meal.
Amazing! Food was great and service was quick. Had the earliest reservation and we were in and out
My wife and I have gone here a few times now since moving to Philly a couple of months ago, and it always hits the spot! Everything we have gotten was delicious, and you have to get the cheese curds!
Delicious as always! And fun 70s decor.
The place was really a fun little local establishment. It wasn’t the best food I’ve ever had, but it was certainly passable and for the price, more so.
The fried chicken bun was the exception, it was wonderful and I’d recommend it.
Took my date here because we both spent our college years in Wisconsin and miss good cheese curds. They were great. We also enjoyed the wedge salad, the Nashville hot buns and a special (short rib Mac and cheese). Everything was amazing. Too full for dessert, we carried out a slice of peanut butter malt ball chocolate cake. It was equally as delicious as our meal.
Really fun place! Amazing food! Our dessert was fantastic !
The food didnt quite match the decor none the less the food was excellent. Service was quick and efficient.
Great cocktails and Bar. The old fashioned selection was really good. This is comfort food! We had Chicken and Stroganoff and they were excellent. The Wedge salad was also really good. Convenient, nice people and good food.
Enjoyed the food and service. Will definitely be back.
Reservations a must. Host was very accommodating, wait staff excellent. I had shakshuka which was fabulous (egg was a little runnier than I like - they took it back and made it more to my liking) would go again
Went for brunch on a saturday. Glad I made reservations because the place was packed! Luckily we were seated right away and the food and drinks were delicious! I'd highly recommend the cinnamon bun. It comes in a skillet, super warm, with allll the delicious sauces on it. 10/10 must order!
Expensive but very good.
Though the food was good and it was convenient to our hotel, it was too loud.
Good food. Tight space. The beer was delicious. The service was a little slow.
I am usually very pleased with the food and all other aspects except noise level. The mussel dish I loved last time there, not on the menu now, I ordered the lamb steak. Tho very tasty it was mostly gristle around the edges and over done for medium rare. The waitress was attentive before I discovered this. With no time to ask for a replacement I just let it be known on leaving. My friend enjoyed the scallop entree very much.
The porter beer was a great choice for both of us.
I'll return but not for the lamb.
A case of form over function. The ambience is nice and the waiter was trendy and had a beard and tats up his arms but the quality of the service and the quality of the food was off mark. Main was cold and had to be send back and came back slightly warmer having obviously been put in a microwave for a few minutes. One of our (party of 2) cocktails was not what we ordered and wine was ordered but didn't come. Would not recommend.
The food was fine, nothing special. Our server was a bit of a jerk. He seemed to have an attitude and when asked a question about a menu item he responded as if we asked the dumbest question ever.
Both the fried and roasted chicken were delicious. However, the drinks (especially the Moscow mule) left much to be desired.
Aways a great experience. We come for the hot buns...stay for the dessert
I knew it was going to be casual but it was like walking into a greasy diner. I just don’t think it’s a restaurant for us and it was very expensive given that 2 people ordered fried chicken. I wouldn’t go back.
