Bud & Alley's Waterfront Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
I had the crab cakes which were pretty bland-zero flavor. For the crab cakes to be $39 with no side included they should be great. The atmosphere is not that great either—more like a cheap restaurant. Not worth it in my opinion. For the price, the food should be much better.
We had great service and meal. The credit card machine wasn't working so luckily one of our group had enough cash to take care of bill. Not the most convenient and Could've been in an awkward situation. They need to have access to a square or take a cc number in these situations.
We are vegetarian, the options on the menu were!!! two salads, arugula salad, that was good and fresh but too small and the tomato, mozzarella and avocado salad that was not special at all, the mozzarella was of the lowest quality. So for $17 each salads we were expecting more!!!
Regarding the cocktails, my wife's was ok. My was called something fizz!!!! didn't had any vodka, it tasted more like cranberry juice on ice!!! Over expensive ($84)for the quality!
On day one of our visit to Seaside, we stopped at Bud and Alley's for lunch and had a great lunch. At that moment, we already knew we had to comeback for dinner. So this is two reviews in one, lunch and dinner. Our lunch was excellent. I had the grilled Cobia while my wife had the Paneed chicken.... yes, chicken. But trust us, it was excellent. Service was great as well as the location. I heard the hostess tell someone they had better get reservations for dinner, so I did. 5 nights later we went for dinner. And as I waited a tad too long for reservations, the only thing available was at 6pm, which ended up being fine as we got the best table in the house I think. And service was once again terrific. I had the pork shank.... and yes, pork at the beach. It was great!! My wife had the scallops, also great, our friends had the crab cakes and pork shank... everything, including the smoked tuna dip appetizer, all great. I would go back in a heartbeat.
We have eaten at Bud n Alley's many times and were very disappointed with the quality of the food this August. The menu was lackluster and the wine-by- the-glass list was minimal (one Pinot Grigio option, for example). The service was good but not exceptional. The location is outstanding, and is easy to access. Overall, we won't be returning for quite a while as we have found there are many other options with better service and quality of food and drink on 30A.
Extremely, extremely noisy in the indoor side annex where we were seated. No ambience in this spare room - in previous years, I have eaten in the main dining room which has some ambience (but is also noisy) and also in the outdoor patio.
Service was friendly but slow. Food is tasty but over priced - delicious 2 large crab cakes entree was served only with some lettuce and nothing else for $39.00.
Other restaurants or the food trucks are more satisfying, interesting, and better value.
We were sat immediately upon arriving, and our table for 7 was overlooking the ocean. It was a beautiful spot, and we were able to walk out to the beach and take some photos while waiting for our food. It was also very convenient for a walk on the beach after dinner.
The service was great - quick and everything came out correctly. However, the food was mediocre. Of our party of 7, no one was impressed with the entrees with the exception of my four year old who liked his grilled cheese. For the price of the entrees, I felt like they missed the mark.
We loved the view and service, but we won't return due to a lackluster menu.
Food was priced as if this was a 5 star restaurant. I had the whole fish yellow tail snapper which was very undercooked and not worth half of the $37 I paid for it. My son had only the gumbo and got very sick within hours of eating it but was ok by the next day. It used to have a great reputation and can still charge exorbitant prices because of the location. I will never be eating here again.
We were a bit disappointed based on the very positive review given in a local magazine. Our seating was outside but the placement was very distracting. We were offered no bread to go with our entre although my fish was very good. We did not have a view of the gulf as touted in the recommendation and would definitely say it has more of a tourist feel... almost commercial instead of what I would have thought of a restaurant in Seaside.
We originally were going to have dinner here, but decided to order drinks and appetizers and then go elsewhere for dinner. Our waiter seems quite annoyed that we were leaving after appetizers and that we wanted separate checks. A storm was blowing in, so they were also in the middle of moving everyone inside from the outside tables.
We were a few minutes early to our reservation and were greeted by the RUDEST hostess I've ever met. She was simply mean. We asked to speak with a manager twice but never got to.
Fortunately our server (Drew) and meal made up for the bad first impression. Best crab cakes I've ever had!
