A member of my party asked (three times, nicely) for grilled shrimp. Restaurant said no. It’s a seafood restaurant ...that serves shrimp. And the $40 crab cakes are served with no sides. Just two crab cakes. They are delicious, but that’s $20 a crab cake. Not very accommodating and overpriced at that. Had a reservation that was promptly met and the server was very nice.
We have gone to Bud and Alley’s for many years, every time we are in Seaside. Always good!!
My first time there, I was with my husband and teenage son. We had a 5:30 reservation, so got seated right by the window (beach view). Lovely view of the sunset. Great wine list. I ordered the crab cakes--very meaty, flaky and delicious with almost no filler. These are the best I've ever had. Had a fabulous succotash side dish. ($6 extra charge) My husband ordered the filet and it was very slightly undercooked but not enough to send it back and he said it was delicious. My son chose not to order anything. With tip, 2 entrees, 1 side dish, 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine our bill was $116 before tip. Seemed a little over priced but I get it--touristy area. I would bring family and friends here during off season. Wouldn't dream of coming here during tourist season.
New Orleans shrimp outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bud & Alleys is very well known in this area and rightfully so. The food is good, the service is excellent, and if you get seated in the right section, you have a view of the ocean. Very enjoyable night with friends
Reviews of the food and views at Bud & Alleys are accurate. The food was excellent, the service superior. But LOUD! Difficult to hold a conversation. Wine list is undistinguished and overpriced. But I can't say enough about the quality of the food and service.
Jackie was our waitress and she was friendly and efficient. Our food was tasty and hot. I tried crab cakes and sweet potato fries. I was not disappointed. The restaurant is quite small, but it was not overly noisy. We met another couple who we have known for many years there. It’s possible we were laughing and the noisy ones! It was an enjoyable evening!
We were looking for a place that offered whole fish in Sandestin area and found it at Bud and Allies. Slightly salty, but very moist! We were there in off season and even then parking was challenging but got right in with reservations. You do pay $$ for everything in the entire gulf area, but wish we didn’t have to pay $4 for bread.
Overall nice place and good food.
Asked for green beans instead of potatoes on one order, received the potatoes and not the green beans. Asked for grits instead of succotash and received both. Ordered the scallops that came on grits that were cold along with receiving another side of grits that weren’t ordered and went to waste.
Ambience, service and view were fine. Food was overpriced.
Crab cakes here are best in the WORLD!! And I’ve tried them all over
Great atmosphere and great service
The crab cakes are the best.
One of our favorites
Valentines Day dinner with my husband. Very good dinner in a very nice atmosphere.
Went with a large group for early New Year's eve dinner. Great service, great food, happy with the price. Enjoyed it enough to go back just the two of us several days later.
Been coming to Bud & Alleys for 30 years and it never disappoints!
Perfect from the food to the service! Thank you for a wonderful date night ....
The food was just ok for the price. We were not happy with the quality, can get same food anywhere.
Scallops were not great - average. Roasted red peppers came from a jar. Very little flavor. Wedge salad same. No flavor. Halibut was delish however. Service was great. Awful wine selection.
Slow erratic service, inexperienced servers, management had a “so what” attitude
Food way overpriced for the quality
Great food and atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. Great experience!
Best crab cakes ever!!!
The pompano was so tender and delicious and the view was breathtaking!
I had the crab cakes which were pretty bland-zero flavor. For the crab cakes to be $39 with no side included they should be great. The atmosphere is not that great either—more like a cheap restaurant. Not worth it in my opinion. For the price, the food should be much better.
Flavorful, fresh, food in a lovely environment.
Our experience wasn't as great as normal. The cocktails were super weak and the service was just very slow. We have eaten here often though so we will be back. Probably just an off night
Great food, quick and friendly service - a mainstay in the neighborhood that I will continue to go to.
Fabulous for dinner with friends. Grouper was excellent and extremely fresh. Very attentive server with excellent recommendations. Will definitely go back!
The food was very good as always. We were vacationing in the area. The crab cakes were great as well as the steak.
Food was delicious
Excellent atmosphere , service and food! A definite place to come back to every time we travel to the beach!
We had great service and meal. The credit card machine wasn't working so luckily one of our group had enough cash to take care of bill. Not the most convenient and Could've been in an awkward situation. They need to have access to a square or take a cc number in these situations.
We are vegetarian, the options on the menu were!!! two salads, arugula salad, that was good and fresh but too small and the tomato, mozzarella and avocado salad that was not special at all, the mozzarella was of the lowest quality. So for $17 each salads we were expecting more!!!
Regarding the cocktails, my wife's was ok. My was called something fizz!!!! didn't had any vodka, it tasted more like cranberry juice on ice!!! Over expensive ($84)for the quality!
Best meal I've had there in a number of years
Whole pompano was perfectly seasoned
Grouper and succotash delicious!
On day one of our visit to Seaside, we stopped at Bud and Alley's for lunch and had a great lunch. At that moment, we already knew we had to comeback for dinner. So this is two reviews in one, lunch and dinner. Our lunch was excellent. I had the grilled Cobia while my wife had the Paneed chicken.... yes, chicken. But trust us, it was excellent. Service was great as well as the location. I heard the hostess tell someone they had better get reservations for dinner, so I did. 5 nights later we went for dinner. And as I waited a tad too long for reservations, the only thing available was at 6pm, which ended up being fine as we got the best table in the house I think. And service was once again terrific. I had the pork shank.... and yes, pork at the beach. It was great!! My wife had the scallops, also great, our friends had the crab cakes and pork shank... everything, including the smoked tuna dip appetizer, all great. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Outstanding Crab Cakes and Crab Claws! Our service is always exceptional!
We have eaten at Bud n Alley's many times and were very disappointed with the quality of the food this August. The menu was lackluster and the wine-by- the-glass list was minimal (one Pinot Grigio option, for example). The service was good but not exceptional. The location is outstanding, and is easy to access. Overall, we won't be returning for quite a while as we have found there are many other options with better service and quality of food and drink on 30A.
My daughter and I stopped in while we were in the area for a weekend getaway. This restaurant is right on the water and offers great views and excellent food and service. The people are friendly, too. I had the scallops and they melted in my mouth.
Extremely, extremely noisy in the indoor side annex where we were seated. No ambience in this spare room - in previous years, I have eaten in the main dining room which has some ambience (but is also noisy) and also in the outdoor patio.
Service was friendly but slow. Food is tasty but over priced - delicious 2 large crab cakes entree was served only with some lettuce and nothing else for $39.00.
Other restaurants or the food trucks are more satisfying, interesting, and better value.
Fabulous food and great service! Fresh local ingredients. The crab cakes are not to be missed!
Service and food was excellent but very overpriced. Bread was extra with my order of soup so ended up paying a $14 for a bowl of soup plus bread. we probably should have gone for brunch Instead of dinner.
