An unexpected gem - well worth the drive from Davis. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Spectacular steak (I had filet) and ribs. Really among the best I’ve ever had and I consider myself a steak snob. Can’t wait for an excuse to return.
We went to the Buckhorn since several visits to restaurants in Sac left us saying “we could have eaten at the Buckhorn”. Corner table was tight. Restaurant was very noisy. Impeccable service, a great Bombay Sapphire martini with 3 olives. Clams for appetizer were small but flavorful. Upgraded to the Caesar Salad which was delish. Had a 20oz chunk of prime rib with garlic mashed and asparagus. Good but not as good as the House of Prime Rib in SF. Nice desert of half chocolate cake and half cheesecake with very good coffee. Still my to go place for a special occasion when I don’t want to drive to HOPR.
This is my second time coming here and the second time I have had to wait 30 mins past the time of my reservation even after arriving 15 mins early. I was told they were running behind by 15 mins, and I accepted that because it was a busy weekend, but then we still weren’t seated for 30 mins, and only after complaining. The food was good, but frankly I’m still not sure it’s worth the outrageous cost for such a noisy environment. Both times I’ve come here it was for special occasions, but I don’t know if I’ll be doing it again. The food is probably the only thing I really liked about this place and I don’t feel that it makes up for the cost when the service and atmosphere are so lacking.
If you want the best meat in the Napa-Solano-Yolo area, then the Buckhorn is the place!
A 45 minute wait with a reservation prior. The steaks were tough. Not very impressed.

It has been years since we have been to the Buckhorn as we moved out to the North Coast. So it was a special treat tocreturn and find it as fun and wonderful as it ever was. Still crazy popular (glad we made our reservations)! Food was great, service fun and friendly. So glad we came. We'll be back again!!!!
Outstanding service, food, and experience from start to finish. We had a drink in bar area before dinner also which was excellent. Make a reservation otherwise there is a wait.
You can't get a better prime cut sirloin! Outstanding!
The food is fabulous. It is always delicious and cooked perfect. It all starts with the freshly baked sourdough bread, add sautéed mushrooms and any entree. We have eaten there since 1985 and it get Better and Better. My favorite is the sirloin steaks. Plus the Customer Service is outstanding.
We have eaten at Other steakhouses, with high profile names, and always leave thinking the Buckhorn in Winter’s, CA, is better.
