Buckhorn Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Took my Mom for a lovely birthday celebration. We had the sirloin steak and lobster special and rack of lamb. Meat was cooked to perfection. I had the wedge salad which was yo die for! Tasty and affordable. Service was good too although we had to wait for our reserved table. Great meal! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good steakhouse experience.
This is our go-to for that special occasion. Wonderful meat selection although this time my baked potato was not as tasty as previous visits, but my main goal was the prime rib so I was satisfied. Since it was a birthday visit the mud pie is a nice way to end the meal.
I went to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. When I made reservations I added the birthday in the note, and also requested cheesecake for dessert or something chocolate if they didn’t have it. When we arrived my boyfriend saw an ad for the tomahawk steak in the window and asked our server about. Unfortunately we were there on a Tuesday and it was a weekend special. We placed our orders for the buck sirloin and NY bone in steak. When our food came out our server let us know that his new york steak had been upgraded and it was actually the same cut as the tomahawk steak! Such an awesome and pleasant surprise. He didn’t even charge us the difference. When it was time for dessert, he brought us cheesecake AND chocolate cake on the house. It was such a wonderful experience and our server was AMAZING. So friendly, attentive, and funny! He went above and beyond for us and it made our experience something special and personalized. Thank you Tony!!!
We made a 4:30pm reservation on a Saturday night and a crowd started to gather around 4:15pm before the doors opened. That was a sign we made the right choice in restaurants. We were celebrating my birthday and had not been to the Buckhorn in many years. When the doors opened we were quickly taken to a nice booth and were immediately greeted by Olivia, our server for the evening. She was delightful and we could not have asked for better service! The food was good, but there were a few small issues with under cooked augratin potatoes and slightly over done filet. It was an extremely busy evening and the kitchen was doing it's best to get the food out as quick as possible. Olivia smoothed things out like a pro, quickly bringing us garlic mashed potatoes and a beautiful slice of prime rib to make up for the over done filet. Overall the food was delicious and the calamari was to die for. We can't wait to return soon and sample other food on their amazing menu. Thank you Olivia!
We were going to be late for our reservation by 15 minutes so I called ahead with 10 minutes before our reservation and was told we would probably have to wait. The two young women working at the front desk were rude. Not a smile barely an acknowledgement. Then we were seated in the first booth which gets the front door draft. If that wasn't bad enough, they let people stand by the booth and then they stare at you or talk loud during your dinner. I expect better especially for the prices from Buckhorn.
As always, you can depend on the Buckhorn for a great steak...especially a rib-eye. Nice selection of entrees, something for everyone. They will even make some vegan-friendly dishes, just ask. Great selection of local wine. Unfortunately, the hostesses are border-line rude and never seem to really master the art of politely handling the guests. But if you can get Chris W. as a server, you're set!
We love the Buckhorn and eat there often. This time they were very busy, and we were unfortunate enough to be seated in the back dining room. The lighting there is glaring, and the noise levels are high. Our food was great, as usual, except for my beef brochette. I wouldn't recommend it. It's the first time I had it, and I wish I'd chosen my usual selection... the filet mignon. I didn't care for the teriyaki marinade on the brochette. Our waitress was wonderfully attentive, as were the other members of the wait staff. We had a bottle of the house red wine, which is a blend made by the local Turkovich winery. It was great! Overall, we had another enjoyable experience at the Buckhorn.
What a shame.
Place used to be good and a fun occasion
High end prices, that’s okay if the other aspects line up
Food middle of the road
Service, now that was the bottom of the barrel !
Two glasses of wine did not show up for a very long time
Salads arrived, still no wine
Flagged down the inattentive waited
“Could we get our wine please?”
That’s not my job says the waiter!
Finally get up and go to hostess who says who was your waiter?
Bring her to table, she goes into bar to find wine, I repeat the order just to be sure
Waiter then shows up and just plunks two glasses down without a word, turns on his heal and walks away!
Hugh prices lowest service ever
Great time once again at Buckhorn! Even though we had to wait 15 minutes beyond our Open Table reservation, we were seated in a good spot in the front dining area ( I would recommend) and had a FABULOUS server, Jennifer. She really made the night! We had the burger/beer special with one of us opting for the bison burger. Those burgers were huge! The tomato basil soup was fantastic...you can tell it's house made! Overall, another good night at Buckhorn!
Buckhorn never disappoints. The service by Jennifer was above and beyond. The spinach artichoke dip is always amazing. I had the combo, bacon wrapped filet, fried prawns and ribs. Out of this world. It was probably the most tender and tastiest piece of meat I have ever had. I love this place. It is great for special occasions and worth the drive from Vallejo. Go check them out!
