Went to one of favorite restaurants for Thanksgiving dinner. Was so very disappointed to find out the corkage fee had gone from $6 to 15 for local wines, and $20 for non-local wines. Wow, that’s quite a jump. So what’d I order for a drink? Water. That is so ridiculous for a corkage fee. Their sister restaurant, Putah Creek has done the same thing. You all have lost your minds. The food, was exceptional as always and the service was so great! Had enough leftovers for a meal the next day, so you can tell the portions are good sized. Still love this restaurant, but feel disappointed with their change in the corkage fee. Probably won’t go there as much.
The Thanksgiving dinner at the Buckhorn was very good.
Our Thanksgiving dinner at Buckhorn Steakhouse was lovely. Our server was excellent, she was attentive and friendly. We elected to have steaks instead of turkey and were happy with our choice. From the bartender to the hostess to the servers, all of the staff was great! Plus, they were very busy but didn’t make us feel rushed. The food was delicious!
Our waitress, Hilda, provided us with prompt and friendly service. She proved to be a big part of Buckhorn's easygoing, neighborhood atmosphere. My Mom and I both enjoyed the experience. And this was on a chilly, rainy night!
I've been meaning to go ,there, for a long time, but, was told that it was too expensive. Granted, the cost was more than an average dinner out, but, it was well worth it.
Everything was great except that there wasn't any time between bread, salad, appetizer and main course. Granted, it was a holiday dinner and they weren't very busy at that time.
The food is great and so is the atmosphere...I’ve been coming here since my eldest was very young & he’s now 37 yrs. old...
Best Manhattans and the Cajun Steak Tips appetizer outst.
We have eaten at the Buckhorn many times, Birthdays or just a night out and it's always great food & service.
Overall I am pleased , the service was excellent the atmosphere was pleasant food was ok
Great food and service. Winters is a nice small town
I was excited to go for the first time to celebrate my birthday, however the service was poor. It took over an hour to get my main meal. It was difficult to even get any servers attention to ask for anything. Once, our meal arrived we weren't ask if we needed anything else. It was a terrible experience. However, my meal was very good and accurate.
Great service-great food. The only suggestion I have would be to get the people with reservations in on time. We had a reservation for 6:30 and the table wasn’t ready until 7.
Although we’d reserved thru the Open Table app on Monday (& received confirmation), when we arrived on Friday the host “couldn’t find our reservation”. We had 7 in our party and they were super busy. It was necessary for us to show our reservation on the app and they then accommodated us. That was the only downside to the evening.
Our waitress was friendly and attentive (without hovering) and our orders were exactly as requested. Buckhorn is a family tradition for celebrating birthdays. Mom’s 82nd was no exception. By the time the clam chowder (why we go on Fridays) we’d forgotten the initial stressor and were enjoying our meal and each other. Another great evening.
It was a last minute decision to come for dinner & we were pleased to be able to make a reservation. Always a great meal!!
Great! Having a reservation enabled us to walk in and go to the table! Huge. I think we got served behind a huge party so it was kind of slow getting meal and bill. We will go back!
Excellent service, food presentation and quality and also tremendous atmosphere!
The Buckhorn never disappoints us. We had all of our favorites including the portabella mushroom, steak and lobster and mud pie. We will be back again and again and again.
Fantastic dinner. Steak was outstanding and lobster was incredible. Best lobster we've had for a long time.
It was great service was good only thing that was different was they put my party of 2 for our anniversary dinner at a long table next to the window which was fine but odd then they sat a dad snd his son at the other end and they wanted to talk even after we tried to cut the conversation short so we could talk. Other then that it was good
We have dined at the buckhorn many times and always enjoyed it
Food was terrific. If you like meat this is the place. Electric wheelchair was very difficult to manuver, since it's a very crowded setting, but staff tried very hard to accommodate in a courteous manner.
One of the worst meals I have had. We really looked forward to dining here being as our last visit a few years ago was great. My wife's well done tri tip was a charcoal lump. My Elk was requested medium rare, but came out medium well. I thought I could save this tasteless meat with the Bourbon sauce that came with it, however it was tasteless as well. Someone needs to keep a better eye on what the kitchen is sending out. I will not be back.
As a single mom, I don't spend a lot on meals out, but wanted to take my UC Davis son somewhere nice. We had an amazing meal there and great service by Olivia. Absolutely worth every penny ! I can't wait to find an excuse to come back up from So Cal so I can go to the Buckhorn again !
Great customer service minus they were so busy food took a long time to come out. Luckily the bread is amazing and my company was fun. The manager who walked around however never helped any of his employees and never asked any customers how things were. He just simply walked around all evening.
Service was excellent. Food likewise. Just the noise level was too high for pleasant conversation across the table.
The Buckhorn never disappoints! We made a reservation and got in a little early ... had a great waitress who knew the menu, quick and delicious food and enough leftovers for another meal or two! The Buckhorn is well worth the drive ... but was packed so without reservations there could be a long wait!
Food could have been hotter when delivered to table. Other than that everything else was great!
Excellent food and service, every time! We love the Buckhorn!
We come every Thursday for the $30 steak and lobster special. It is delicious every time and the service is great!
Winters is a quaint little town. The drive up is always nice. Food was yummy. Had the halibut special. Servings are large, could have shared but love left overs. And the service is always great.
Had an awesome dinner! Food is amazing & service is top notch!
Eaten at Buckhorn many times. Two of us ordered the New York Steak bone-in. We couldn’t eat more than a couple of bites because it was to salty. I like salt but this was just to much . We brought both steaks home and trash can they went.
As always we had a great time and good food. Our Server Chris was great.
Outstanding steaks, and one of the best restaurants in the area.
Great night with excellent food and service. Chris Weber was our server and he is very good at his job(our family has adopted one of his selling sayings as our own). It was a family birthday and a memorable night!
Great food, great service! Lovely outside patio with heaters and live music and inside a bar with sports playing, all first come first serve seating. If you want a regular table inside, make a reservation, they go quick!
Best steakhouse around have to try their 48 oz tomahawk ribeye. Amazing
Great food as usual, but the service tonight was slower than usual. Delicious mud pie for the birthday celebration. We do love coming here, and will be back again soon!
We were promptly seated at our reservation time. The restaurant was quite busy, although our wait staff person was very attentive. The food was excellent as usual. A great place to go for special occasions or to take out of town guests.
