Buckheads - Richmond
My wife took me out to dinner at Buckheads this past weekend and it was a wonderful place to celebrate. I had the ribeye and she had the salmon, and we both found our food to be perfectly prepared, and fixed to our liking. The wine and cocktails were also noteworthy, as were the desserts. I highly recommend Buckheads.
Chris' old fashion was awesome. Food was great. Beautiful date night place or out with friends. Staff well educated about menu, great wine selection. Will be back!
Steaks were good but one was only luke warm, baked potato was old or left over from previous day. No salt or pepper on table and waiter was slow to show up and not as attentive as one would expect from this class of dining.
The food was fresh and well prepared, as well as being delicious. Service for the evening was excellent, courteous and unobtrusive all at the same time. Though the event was a birthday, it would be nice for other occasions as well as when good chophouse food is desired as well as seafood.
Comfy dining room and lovey space but for the mouthy lady holding forth, ad nauseum, about her distaste for bitter greens at neighboring table and the folks who deemed it appropriate to bring a fussy toddler into the venue. Not Buckheads fault just people being entitled.
3rd time intwo months...did not care for where we were seated and the food was not as fresh and hot as usual. Despite that, can’t wait to go back. Still the best steakhouse in Richmond area
Great food and surroundings. A special place for special times.
Always wonderful. My favorite steak restaurant in Richmond for it's cozy ambiance, superb staff, and of course the meal! The steaks come with sides which is nice, most other est. are al a carte. We had our usual steaks with potato cake, veggie, salad, and an order of calamari. The filet medallions topped with crab are awesome! I didn't save room for dessert but the two others I saw pass by looked amazing!
Consistently exceptional. Seemingly a contradiction in terms, but in comparison to others it is an apt description. As always, the appetizers, entrees, and desserts were outstanding, both in preparation and presentation. These were accompanied by equally marvelous service, at once perfectly attentive and unobtrusive. Buckheads is a Richmond icon for good reason.
Usually great...walked in with 4 at 7:45 and told an hour wait with tables vacant. Standing in bar made reservations on open table for 8:15 then seated at 8:00. All the open tables were never seated.. dinner took forever to happen. Food was great as always.
Buckhead's exceeded my expectations on all counts. My Classic Escargots were perfectly prepared. Ah...and the rolls were hot and tender, yet firm enough to soak up the garlic butter with my escargots. The Lobster Bisque was decadently rich and creamy. My Filet au Poivre with Vermouth demi-glaze, while different than traditional Cognac au Poivre preparation, was fired to my liking, Pittsburg-style, and was almost fork-tender. The accompanying vegetable medley was the perfect side dish for me with its blend of Brussels sprouts, green beans, eggplant and other vegetables. Since it was my birthday, they gave me the dessert of my choice...Crème brûlée, smooth delicate custard with its wonderfully crisp layer of hardened caramelized sugar. In addition to the food, the servers and assistants rotated silently around the room, ensuring empty plates were removed promptly, water/wine glasses refilled before requested, and tables reset immaculately and precisely.
The restaurant was almost full at 6:00pm and therefore my group of nine had to wait for our dinner from the kitchen which took longer than I expected. However, our waiter, Greg did everything to make our meal acceptable.
My wife and myself went to Buckheads for our anniversary for the third straight year. The reason for the return is the overall wonderful experience! Great food and wonderful service! I will find more occasions to visit.
We have been going to Buckheads for years and have never been disappointed. Love seeing familiar faces like Claud’s and enjoy the newer faces too like Ryan who was a fabulous server and complimented the food and atmosphere. Our filets were cooked perfectly. Go hungry because the servings are generous.
Excellent service, food, wine list! Waiter was always on top of everything.
I have no idea how they do it unless they inject the steak with juices but OMG the steak just melts in your mouth.
Always a treat. Best steak house in Richmond. Would recommend it to anyone.
Awesome food and fantastic service! Defintely would try again some time soon. Save room for dessert. Best pecan pie Ive ever had at a restaurant.
Outstanding service and food. Waiter was very friendly and even ran out but credit card when I had left it. Price was far more reasonable than other high end steakhouses.
I have been to many excellent restaurants throughout the country and abroad. This is my favorite place. I used to live here and found it when I was about ready to relocate out of state. I was just here for a visit and had dinner here Monday night. The best surf and turf I have ever had. Yum!
Thank you for the anniversary dessert-Chocolate was outstanding. Thank you for accommodating the booth request!
The food and service were good, but not exceptional, which I expected given the expense. Service was a bit slow. However, I would go back.
Ric, our server was AMAZING!! The Best!! I pray he is so happy and fulfilled in life. He was just so nice, welcoming, helpful and offered great conversation and food choices. He was so real and pleasant and we totally love and appreciate his service! We Only want him at our table in the future! He's totally a gem to this establishment!!
Top notch in every way. Waitstaff was friendly, efficient and helpful. Even got a bonus surprise for the golden anniversary.
Food was outstanding! Our server couldn't have been better. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the cocktail I had at the bar before dinner was not good at all and the two bartenders were talking with each other so much and uninterested in trying to see what I wanted so I just picked something and it was so bad I could barely drink it.
We always enjoy Buckheads because of its ambiance and accuracy in cooking steaks. Wife's steak was fine, my salmon was average. Will return.
Loved the restaurant, very cozy and comfortable.
The food was very delicious and very tastee and hot.
The service was superb ,the menu was explained and certain specials were recommended.
We will be coming back!!
The staff and food was excellent. The atmosphere was nice with beautiful music playing in the background as my friends and I discussed upcoming business opportunities over a professionally crafted dinner. I would definitely recommend this establishment and will be returning in the near future.
Our party of 4 began all agreed that we enjoyed our food and the atmosphere of Buckhead's. The wait staff was excellent. We began with Lobster Bisque, followed by Caesar Salads and rolls. We had a variety of meals: Steak and Crab, Braveheart Filet Mignon, and the Prime New York Strip all were excellent. We each had a different dessert and all were beautifully presented and wonderful: Lemon Curd & Mascarpone Cheesecake, Pecan Pie, Clover Roll Bread Pudding, and Chocolate Godiva Cake. My only recommendation would be to have the waiter ensure the correct doneness of the steak prior to leaving the table. All ours were prepared correctly, but two of us ordered the same meal (one ordered medium and the other rare) and our plates were mixed up and we didn't realize it until we had both eaten some. I would recommend Buckhead's for a special night out or a business dinner. It is somewhat pricey, but not atypical for a local high-end restaurant.
As always, Buckheads did not disappoint. Excellent preparation, great service, and a wonderful wine list add up to a memorable dinner. Our favorite destination for steak in Richmond, VA. the service is well paced and not at all rushed, so you'll have time to savor every part of the meal.
Great family dinner in a high end steak and seafood restaurant. Everything was perfect, cocktails, service, and food. I highly recommend Buckheads!
We visited for a date night and birthday dinner. We are pretty up on the city food scene and had not tried this- only because it was in a shopping center - but we were surprised! Once you get in, it’s got a great old world steakhouse lounge feel- upscale but casual and approachable! Our server was super friendly and had a great knowledge of wine as they have an extensive list! He made great recommendations and the food was awesome. Also- scallop appetizer was easily the best scallops I’ve had in Richmond. We will be back!
Buckhead's continues to perform at an above expectation. The steaks are perfect and the fish are moist and with great favor. Ask for Greg as a waiter. He will see to it that your dinner experience exceeds
Excellent food and wine....very enjoyable.
Took my steak loving husband here for his birthday. As I’d hoped, the steak did not disappoint, and our waiter made the birthday special 😊
Mostly terrific as always. The negative was the cold air blasting onto my plate from the a/c which prematurely cooled my filet and mashed potatoes. Very disappointing but we’ll be back.
Steak is always my choice at Buckheads as it never disappoints. Two in our party had the fish of the day feeling it was OK, a little bland.
The service was impeccable the food was excellent and it was a wonderful evening for both my wife and I as we celebrated our anniversary. I would recommend Buckheads to anyone who wants a special evening out with friend, family or that someone special
Food and service are always 100%. Have never been disappointed. Steak is great of course but seafood dishes are also well conceived and executed.
The filet mignon was so soft and tender you could cut it with a fork.
