Great food and took a business associate in from out of town and it was hit!
Very nice! Great food and service!
Outstanding food and service!
First time eating here after recommendations by many friends. Business meal with colleagues. Not impressive from the outside, but the ambiance, and more importantly the food, is outstanding. The veal/wild mushroom meatloaf was awesome. If you're in the area it is DEFINITELY worth stopping in at the Bulkhead Diner. I look forward to a return trip.
Friendly service and great fried chicken!
DRINKS WERE LATE AND WATERY. APPETIZERS WERE EXCELLENT.
MAIN COURSE , NOT REAL HOT. TEMP. WISE. AND CAME BEFORE THE APPETIZERS WERE FINISHED
BUT, EXCELLENT FOOD.
The service was wonderful and the restaurant itself is great, very retro. The food was just ok, particularly the burger, which was dry and disappointing. I’d go back, but for the atmosphere and friendly service, not the food.
I had never dined at BD before, but I know many who have. It definitely lived up to it’s reputation. Classy, tasty, and customer-focused. It’s definitely on my top 10 list of local restaurants now!
Everything was perfect! Out of town guest were very impressed! Thanks
Buckhead Diner does not disappoint. Excellent food (seafood especially), and very strong service. We went there with my daughter recently to celebrate my birthday and were served by Paymon, who is an excellent waiter. He's very good at his job - in handling the arrival, ordering drinks, ensuring that the little things are always addressed. I had the sea bass "Hong Kong style," which was an entree to behold - pure, white fish cooked perfectly, with spinach and a ginger/soy sauce. My wife had the trout - which was tremendous. She preferred mashed sweet potatoes to the regular mashed potatoes - handled without a hitch. My daughter had the hanger steak - which was excellent, given the bite I had. They had a wonderful Caymus cabernet that was well worth it, too . . . .
An excellent evening - food, of course, but service went above and beyond the call.
Thanks, Buckhead Diner - and thanks, Paymon, for a wonderful birthday dinner.
Had not been in a while was as good as always . They always take care of you
Had a priority seating @6:30 got seated just before the crowd got busy as we ate
Had our favorites, meatloaf, calamari. All very good
Never disappoints. Fantastic experience All round every time.
Great experience as always! The server, Michael, gave exceptional service! The manager, Mike, was very personable and treated us like gold.
Great food and entertaining waiter. I had the 3 for $30 birthday special and chose a wedge salad, hangar steak and banana cream pie. The wedge was delicious with crispy fresh lettuce, lots of tiny sliced tomatoes and blue cheese and salty bacon. The seasoning on the steak was delicious and the beef was flavorful. The pie—divine. I really enjoyed the meal and the waiter was super wonderful. Attentive, funny and well-versed in all the nuances of the menu offerings.
You don't have to spend a lot of money to get a great meal here. The diner has a great selection of salads and sandwiches as well as grown up versions of the blue plate specials. I love the wait staff and the manager always stops by to check on the meal. We stop by often. Easy to get a seat if you dine early, but weekends and after 7pm, I recommend the priority seating reservation to reduce your wait.
Love Buckhead Diner! One of my favorites !
It was very good and loud
This is not the typical diner experience. It is a gourmet diner menu served in a upscale diner venue by a professional wait staff whose hand is not shaking while serving you coffee and the waitress does not have a flower pinned to her blouse.
The food is exceptional and the menu selection is vast. Try the veal meatloaf with mashed potatoes and the signature Pork Chop . Both are highly recommended.
Priority reservations are a must to eliminate a long wait. Did you ever go to a diner with valet parking ?
10 minute wait, but service and food was delightful.
Dinner had to be recooked due to undercooked pork.
First visit and was very disappointed. Food was mediocre. Waiter was very attentive.
Great waitress, Delicious food, and welcoming manager. Food was a good value for the cost!
We were early enough that the restaurant was quiet. Definetly will return soon
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere.
The Buckhead Diner is always reliable but this experience wasn't great. We arrived at 8pm, the restaurant was not even half full. It seemed like an extremely long time for the hostess to seat us and then it was over 15 minutes before we saw a waiter - and I had to ask the hostess to send one our way.
Our waiter was very apologetic and he did a fine job for us. Comp'd a bit of the bill which was nice. Had to ask for bread. No one ever came by for water refills.
I am sure I will go again and hope something was just off that evening.
It was a good breakfast/brunch, what I was disappointed in was they did not offer WiFi. An upscale restaurant like this should. I needed to should one of the people something on the internet and couldn't.
The Bulkhead Diner is ALWAYS a good choice. Stylish casual with delicious food. Their meatloaf is still the best. Suggest priority seating reservation on weekends.
While our server was very hospitable, he was more charming than accurate. The drink orders were incorrect and the food was average. I enjoyed the ambience.
The Diner was great! The service, food, and ambiance was pleasing and wonderful.
Great food, the chili calamari is unbelievably good, worth the drive just for that. But the Hong Kong Style Sea Bass is to die for, one of the best seafood items around. However, the waiting staff left a lot to be desired. We were left without drink refills and had to ask another table's waiter to refill our drinks. The waitress had a zoned out look on her face most of the night. If you work at a restaurant and are customer facing you should have a little bit of a happy demeanor, not a WTH look on your face.
The priority seating worked seamlessly. There was perhaps a little bit of a surprise when using a gift card. The amount of the gift card was sufficient to cover the meal, tip and taxes but we were told by the server that the tip and taxes could not come from the gift card and we had to give a different form of payment for that. So the "Christmas gift" I received ended up costing ME over $25 to cover the tip and taxes... and now I have some money left on the gift card so I guess I will have to go back to use that AND pay again from my pocket. Just doesn't seem like a "gift" when I had to pay and now I certainly wouldn't give this restaurant's group's gift card as a gift to others since I would hate for them to think "how nice to have a great free meal" and end up having to pay out of their pocket.
Intimate setting for good food at reasonable prices
Great food and great service. Upscale diner vibe with good sized portions.
Food was good, making a reservation waste of time. I had to wait over an hour to be seated
Service and Food were great
Priority Seating: reservation for 6:45pm and we were seated at 8:05 pm .
The Buckhead Diner is always fantastic! Despite being a busy Saturday night, our waiter Harrison was very attentive. The food was wonderful (love the chips and Maytag blue cheese!) and we had a wonderful time!
Went at 6pm on a Saturday. Very crowded and loud. Food was ok, not great. Wouldn’t rush back.
On arrival we were told that the wait would be 10 to 15 minutes, but it turned out to be over an hour. Many people who arrived after us were seated before we were. Two inquiries to the host later we finally got a table. The server was friendly and reasonably attentive - no complaints there. The food was so-so: adequately prepared but often under-seasoned and no real finesse. The leasehold improvements are pretty.
I can not believe they are celebrating their 30th anniversary. Where did the time go? Food was excellent and quite the value as we had the Valentine’s Week special. Service was just okay. Could not figure out if one of the two gals taking our order was in training or not. They cleared silverware after appetizer and then dropped the entree without replacing our forks. Never came back to check on us so we had to catch other waiters for more water, etc. Despite this we will return again for the good food.
