Intimate setting for good food at reasonable prices
I can not believe they are celebrating their 30th anniversary. Where did the time go? Food was excellent and quite the value as we had the Valentine’s Week special. Service was just okay. Could not figure out if one of the two gals taking our order was in training or not. They cleared silverware after appetizer and then dropped the entree without replacing our forks. Never came back to check on us so we had to catch other waiters for more water, etc. Despite this we will return again for the good food.
Reservation was for 815. I arrived at 805. Was told 30 minute wait. At 845, I was told another 30 minutes wait because hostess sat walk-ins. Did not get seated until 925.
Well, let me tell you, Im taking the time to rate this because folk need to know. I'm not angry or anything because even though my husband did not want to go here for Val Day, I shunned and he gave in. We hadn't been there in a good 3 years, and stopped going because the food, other than sandwiches and ginger food had just gotten so bad...Really tasteless. But the setting was a look ways nice. Anyhow, we went ahead, hoping things would be really different on such a special night. NOT! We chose the 2 person special. I had meatloaf , potato mash and green beans with carrots. Husband had salmon, rice, etc. My first bite I knew it was a mistake. Meatloaf was a mixture of ground meats of sorts. They gave 3 hunks of what I imagine dog food to taste like. I'd never had tough meatloaf....Just so bad! No seasoning at all. Then a scoop of potatoes that I'm almost positive came from dried flaked...And an off brand at that. Stiff, no butter, no milk. Just bad. But I kept a smile because my husband wanted so badly for me to have a good night because of the sickness I've endured for the past year. Poor thing, had dried out salmon over crunchy rice. He usually likes to taste what I have and vi e versa... Neither of us would go near the others food. Who is cooking thus stuff? Talk about disappointed, that W ok old be the both of us. Finally after my 3rd tiny bite I pushed it back! The waiter offered a to-go box...It never occurred to me to take this pitiful food home. But again, to save face I Boxed up those hunk of neat, etc. And after all it was nearly &100.00 straight down the drain. My husband left every bit of the dried mess he had, right there on this plate. I only give any stars because the tiny saving grace was the awesome waiter we had, and we were seated a couple feat from the Dj, who played 2 of our fav songs and kept is laughing, showed pictures of himself with some celebrities from years past. But we just couldn't wait to get out of ther
Ma DE Reservation For 8pm, We Were seated at 8:55pm.......
Overall good spot.
We had a 8:00 reservation they told me it would be 45 minutes for a table at 7:55 so I had to leave because of my schedule why would a restaurant take a reservation if it not honor screw up my evening
Plus they call me to make sure I was going to be there a couple of days ago
It was Valentines Day and the wait was quite long but went to bar and it was nice vibe until our table were ready. Food was good but the calamari they used to make I can’t recall the type but it was not the Thai spiced that they have now. The waiter was super funny and service was great. Once we were seated and ordered it did not take long for food to arrive. Overall was a great evening.
Wonderful Valentine’s Day experience. Met at the door by young girls handing out roses. We did have to wait an hour past our reservation time, but weren’t all that surprised because of the holiday. The wait was made enjoyable by the DJ arranged music and the magician strolling through the waiting patrons and entertaining with really great tricks. The food was good and when our steak arrived cooked beyond our order, it was quickly removed and replaced with perfectly prepared steak. Very, very fun evening!
Waited an hour to be seated. Never doing that again. It was good but not that good.
They did not properly prepare for the occasion. We along with at least 16 other couples with “priority seating” waited more than an hour past the agreed upon time. We eventually left without ever being seated and many other diners did as well.
Food and service were top notch. I'm glad we were able to be seated in a both rather than an open table. Noisy and busy on Valentines day however that would be expected. Overall an excellent experience. Highly recommended.
We went for Valentine's Day. The staff seemed to handle the overflow crowd extremely well . The food was excellent. Standouts on the prix fixee menu were the calamari and the salmon. The atmosphere was "festive" more than it was "intimate," which may seem an odd choice for the occasion, but the whole experience was upbeat and fun. A DJ made conversation a little tricky, but the manager obligingly moved us to a table a little farther from the speakers.
Always the best service. Good value. Upscale casual at its best.
We went to Buckhead Diner for dinner on Valentines Day. The first really nice touch was the gift of a long-stemmed rose to every lady that attended. Their menu and wine list was excellent. We had the fried chicken and the crab cakes, both were excellent, and there was enough for take-home which we enjoyed the next day. The energy level of the wait staff and guests was great. We are never disappointed at any of the Buckhead Life Group restaurants.
