Buckhead Diner - PRIORITY SEATING
The food is fantastic! We tried a couple new menu items and the Chef always nails it.
My fiancé and I had the best experience here over the weekend. The staff were incredibly accommodating, and our waiter was helpful and attentive despite the house being slammed that evening. I loved sitting in the booth across from expo, getting to watch the line do their thing. Our wait time was not long at all, but the activity kept us entertained without disrupting our own conversation. The vegetable platter was fresh and delicious, and he enjoyed his burger, but as far as we were concerned, the dessert stole the show. He hasn’t stopped raving about his strawberry lavender ice cream in the strawberry sundae, and while I don’t normally care for bananas in my dessert, I took a chance on the white chocolate banana cream pie as per our waiter’s recommendation, and I did not regret it. The fresh whipped cream complemented the bananas perfectly, rendering the pie decadent without being overly rich. Be sure to pair it with an espresso or coffee! Would seriously return just to try the rest of the desert menu.
We met another couple for lunch who we hadn’t seen in quite some time.
It was comfortable and although we sat for quite some time and visited, we were never made to feel we needed to rush.
Food was good.
Food tasted blend (salmon) no flavor at all very disappointing
Brian is a Great waiter
Delicious. Great service.
Brian is always a professional with a great since of humor that only adds to the dining experience! Thank you!!!
Had another lovely evening on Tuesday. Good food, great service. Brian, as usual, was fun and a great server!
I love this place. It is consistently fabulous. No matter what I get it’s wonderful and the service is impeccable.
Food was great. Server was not feeling well so I had to tell a couple of things multiple times but this is the first time this has happened to me. I do feel he realized this and strived to make it up to me.
Lovely atmosphere. Great food. Nice space—and time—for conversation. Will be returning when in Atlanta again.
Our food was inedible. My meal was burnt to the point where it should not have been served. Even the salad was poor quality. The fish that was served made my friend sick later on that night. Overall, horrible experience.
Buckhead Diner priority seating was great, although I did not need it as the time I went was not very busy anyhow. Atmosphere was quite initially, but as the evening went on, it got much louder on a Saturday night.
Except for our waiter, the rest of the staff and services were excellent. We were seated within a few minutes from our Priority Seating time, and they were all friendly--except for our waiter. Our waiter (unfortunately forgot his name. Nathan?), was not attentive and rarely came to our table to get our orders or check up on us even though I would see him regularly go to his other tables. We waited 10 minutes until he finally came to take our drink orders and he even forgot to (seemed like ignored) take my father's drink order. Each time he came to our table, he was not approachable and seemed indifferent (not smiling, not engaging). I would come back to Buckhead Diner, but if he is our waiter again, I would request another one.
Food was overpriced and sub par at best
Was not impressed by our service, and my girlfriends burger came out extra well done when she ordered it medium. The manager did a great job recovering our visit, but our server was totally inattentive to our needs the entire meal.
Awesome, we will definitely be back
The food, as always, was excellent. The service was poor, as is usually the case. The server didn't check back to ask about our food, or offer us another beverage.
Excellent service and food!
Good menu options, lots of challenges for the server trying to help me somebody’s needs at the table who was trying to eat whole 30. She did a good job of explaining what she didn’t want but still got two things that were wrong which made for a lot of back-and-forth an interruption between the three of us trying to have a meeting
Food was good
Great service and experience. They don’t allow the tradition to overcome their ability to gain new customers.
We were celebrating my granddaughter’s 10th birthday. She enjoyed every minute. We had great food and service.
Food is always excellent. service that night was top notch
The waiter kept taking stuff away from our table, which was kind of frustrating especially as we hadn’t finished with those sauces and things. But overall it was good food
It wasn't crowded at all, post the hustle and bustle of the holiday so cannot really say that Priority Seating works well, however, it appears so.
It was very nice! We had the pork chop and it was nice and juicy. The waiter was super funny and made sure we were well taken care of
We eat here all the time because we love the food, atmosphere, and service. But, this was the first time that the server was terrible. First, it was as if he were on some sort of drug...he could not stand still. He was constantly fidgeting and walking back and forth and, particularly, made my niece extremely anxious due to his attitude. Secondly, he forgot specifics with the order and came back THREE times to clarify things we ordered. I mean, I'm glad he did clarify instead of guessing but he wrote THREE things down incoherently enough that even he couldn't decipher them? Third, he would disappear for extremely long periods of time. We had to eventually ask another waiter for water and had to wave him down to clear our dishes and give us a dessert menu which is not something that is common for BD. I know this is not normal so we'll be back. Just thought I'd mention this experience since it was so bizarre. He was friendly, at least.
At this time, I would not recommend Buckhead Diner. On our New Years Day visit, we were going to specifically try their fried chicken. Our reservation was for 4:00pm. We noticed that on their lunch menu, the fried chicken was listed albeit with a caveat for dinner only. Being confused, we asked our waiter if we could order it. We were told not before 5:00pm. This begs the question, if you cannot order it for lunch, why is it on the lunch menu?
Well, because the fried chicken is highly recommended, we decided to have appetizers and drinks until 5:00 so we could order the "famous" fried chicken. As it turned out, the chicken is very overrated. We felt it was not worth the wait. Then to top things off, they ran out of lemonade and could or did not prepare more. I, frankly, found this mind boggling. Was there a lemon shortage in Atlanta? Did it require preparation by a special chef?
Long story short, we are questioning whether to dine there, again.
The Buckhead Diner has always been a go-to for me until recently. We booked a table in advance and the hostess still took 20 minutes to seat us even though the retaurant was nowhere near full. Upon seating, it took another 10 minutes before we were waited on. Once the famous potato chips and blue cheese arrived, we had to ask for a napkin (in a place like this you would expect this to happen earlier). I ordered a pork chop with greens and black eyeds. The chop was cooked great, he greens and blackeyeds were over seasoned and very salty. The coffee was lukewarm at best and the banana cream pie, while bananay was not sweet at all. We had to practically beg our server to bring us our check as he avoided us most of our visit ('don't want to rush you'). IMO, at a place like this, for what they charge, the server should be checking in every 10-15 minutes and no empty glasses should EVER happen.
I'll think twice before coming back.
New Year’s Day with daughters & husbands.
This is usually my favorite place but not so much anymore. The past few times I’ve been the food and service have been very inconsistent. Our date on Monday evening was very disappointing. My drink was messed up, our food came out wrong and our steak was overcooked. The service was okay but we were not offered any bread or extra sauces like the table next to us and since our items were messed up it seemed like our server just gave up. We left without getting dessert or anymore drinks because I was just so ready to leave.
As always, delicious food and excellent service! Can't wait to go back!
Great welcome. Made reservations which helped for prompt seating. Recommendations from server on target.
Great venue for late night dining. Will definitely come again!
Seated immediately with quick service. Food was excellent as usual. Enjoyed the shrimp and grits, fried chicken and Mac and cheese, and the coffee and doughnuts sundae. Loved it all!
Only had to wait long enough at the bar to get a glass of wine.
Great food and service for Christmas dinner.
Christmas Eve was crazy, but usually this place is great
Christmas Eve. Had to wait too long to be seated.
