Buckhead Diner - PRIORITY SEATING
Food was great as always. Our server however, was a rookie and it showed. The wine wasn’t served correctly and the removal of some items from the table was premature. She needs training.
Service is always 110% .
Even during this difficult time.
Great waiter, Mike, always makes everything better. Food was excellent tonight!
There's something that just feels "right" about the Buckhead Diner. Whether it's the unique architecture of the building, or the great food and service, it's an excellent place to visit when in Atlanta.
Celebrating a birthday! It was fabulous!
Thank you so much for the review Southernlady! So glad you enjoyed everything and celebrated a very happy birthday! Look forward to seeing you again soon! Buckhead Diner Management
The food and service was fantastic. There were so many things I wanted to eat It was hard to choose. The restaurant has a beautiful Art Deco decor. I can’t wait to return.
Thank you so much for the review! So glad you enjoyed everything! Look forward to seeing you again soon! Buckhead Diner Management
Great menu selection, quick service and convenient Buckhead location.
We both had the fried chicken dinner special. It was nothing special and the chicken was greasy and not very hot. I was disappointed in the breading on the chicken—-it was really thick coating and with it not being very hot, it was a disappointing meal. The portion size was huge though!
Dear MaryJane, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback. We have discussed your recent experience with our Executive Chef so that going forward he can make sure that our Fried Chicken is up to the Buckhead Diner and BLRG standards! In the future, please let a manager know while dining if you are not 100% satisfied with your experience so that we may step in and fix it, having you and your guest leave us happy! Sincerely, Buckhead Diner Management
Our dinner was really good last night. The blue cheese chips are always delicious! And we both got the fried chicken, which was also yummy!!
Always top quality food, With good service. A great experience
Customer service is exceptional. Food freshly prepared and tasty without all the greasy ingredients
We so enjoyed our Friday night date-night! Our dinner was divine; and, service professional and enjoyable!
Thank you for the review! So glad you enjoyed everything! Look forward to seeing you soon! Buckhead Diner Management
We hadn't been in a year and it was just as good as i remembered. The service is very good and the food specials were excellent.
The portion of pasta on the spaghetti & meatballs was very very small. The veal meatloaf was not seasoned & very tasteless. The only saving grace was the mashed potatoes. The blue cheese chips made us both so sick before bed. The dirty martinis were good & our server was very attentive.
Dear Foodie, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your recent experience. We are so very sorry that your dining experience was not up to your standards. In the future, please let us know while dining so that we may have a manager step in and solve any issues you are having. We hope that you will come back and give us another shot to wow you for a five-star experience! Sincerely, Buckhead Diner Management
As always, a wonderful time and great fare. Our waiter was wonderful and hilarious! I felt like we had gone back in time with the Atlanta-based show, “Designing Women!” Of course I had to bring home some banana cream pie!
Waitress remembered us and what we liked. Great service and food!!! Love the ambiance.
The Diner is an old standard and we like to go every so often. The food is consistent. It isn't outstanding or innovative but it is solid upscale diner food. The wine pours are small. It is very very loud in there. We took Lyft to avoid the forced valet parking.
I only gave it two stars because they have valet parking on a Monday night which they charge you $2.00. I just think that’s ridiculous.
Dear JPKN, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your experience. Valet service is not a requirement at our restaurant as we have set aside part of our parking lot for self parking, as well as self parking along our side street and our sister restaurants parking lots across the street. We were very happy to see that otherwise you enjoyed the Food and Service of the Buckhead Diner. Look forward to seeing you soon! Sincerely, Buckhead Diner Management
Had a wonderful celebration!
The waiter, Sean, was excellent. He is one of the best waiters in Atlanta.
Unfortunately, everything else about this experience was disappointing.
We made a reservation via OpenTable; according to the restaurant, this is not a reservation but only priority seating.
We counted at least 8 empty booths and still couldn't get a straight answer from the hostesses as we waited and waited to be seated.
The food was disappointing.
There was a plumbing leak on the floor of the ladies room; the ladies room smelled like mildew and the lighting fixtures were rusted.
The restaurant as a whole is showing its age; it opened over 30 years ago.
A disaster. Service was terrible. Waiter would disappear. Had to ask other servers for help. Food was mediocre. Our table had nats or fruit flies buzzing the entire meal.
Tons of better places for brunch.
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. Next time, please let us know that your food and service is not up to par while dining so that we may have a manager step in and make sure you receive the proper food and service that our restaurant is known for and that we have you leaving us happy! Sincerely, Buckhead Diner Management
8 of us
Brought an out of towner for her first visit. She loved the balance between "casual & fancy." We enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service.
Great server - Fun personality and wonderful service
Celebrating with Friends!
I love Buckhead Diner, but this was my least favorite visit. First, even though we had priority seating, we waited 35 minutes!! Ridiculous. And then when I ordered the shrimp and grits, I requested that the egg be cooked done/hard. When it came, there was a runny yolk on the top of my dish! Additionally, there was WAY too much gravy or sauce on it!! In general, not a great experience. But Hendrix, our server, made the experience tolerable!
We moved to Atlanta in 1989!
Buckhead Diner remains our most favored place to eat brunch on Sundays
Wait was very long. “Priority wait list” didn’t seem to help anything.
With priority seating our wait was about 50 minutes. Granted this Saturday was Feb 15 so it was packed full everywhere. The food was ok. We have had better meals at Buckhead Diner and meals we have in the future may be better but overall it was a good time, a good dinner and a good experience (as opposed to a hell no never again experience). Thank you Buckhead Diner for surviving Valentines weekend.
We were there on the Saturday after Valentines Day and it was pretty busy. We had a 7pm priority seating and got there at 6:45 pm and were seated at around 7:30pm. Not sure what the wait would have been had we just showed up. Food was excellent and the service was good. The wine menu was somewhat limited but he special, an Oberon Cab was very good.
It was a very busy night at the Buckhead Diner. They were quoting an hour wait for most patrons. However, with "Priority Seating" we were quoted only a 30 minute wait.
The food was very good. However, the waiting staff seemed to be a little overworked. I wondered if the restaurant staff was a little short handed that day.
The Buckhead Diner has started using an electronic device that is brought to your table for credit card payments. For some reason the waiter did not believe that the payment went through successfully. As a result, I was asked to make another payment using the old fashioned manual credit card processing way. When I got home, I checked and found that the payment through the electronic device had been processed. As a result, I had made two payments for our meal. I called the restaurant later that evening and was able to get the payment sent through the electronic device credited back to my account.
We have been to Buckhead Diner multiple times and usually have good service: However, service on February 15th was terrible.
- we ordered drinks as soon as we sat down and it took 30 minutes for the drinks to get to us
- we ordered appetizers when we ordered drinks and followed up several times as to why they weren’t delivered. Delivered after an hour / and they tried to deliver our entrees before appetizers.
- the bill given to us at the end of the meal was not ours and had to request the right bill

Sat near kitchen. Enjoyed seeing how competent all the workers were and how well they worked together.
Priority seating didn't seem to make any difference, we still waited the best part of 25 minutes before being seated. It was a cold evening in Atlanta but where we were sat was as cold as eating outdoors with a cold draft blowing in every time the door was opened. The staff clearly new of the problem because they were continually moving customers from surrounding tables. It was so cold, we didn't finish our meals and asked for the check within half-an-hour of sitting down.
When we explained the problem to our waiter, he said he would ask the manager to speak to us; we saw him speaking to the manager, who said something, shook his head and walked away leaving the waiter to apologise to us.
The food was decidedly average and, apart from it being far too cold to eat a meal with any pleasure, it had all the ambience of a car showroom.
