We pride ourselves on providing excellent food and service with locally sourced ingredients.

Why not come and spend the day in Thornhill, take a visit to a local landmark such as Drumlanrig Castle, learn more about our history, our strong connections to Robert Burns, and what makes this corner of the world so special.

Finish the day off perfectly with us in our cosy, stylish, yet informal dining spaces and lounge. We also have a Beer Garden, if outside is your thing too! It is is our pride and joy in the summer, and we would love for you to come and have a sun-soaked afternoon with us and enjoy the space as much as we do.

Current Menus on offer ; Main Restaurant Menu, Stone baked Pizza Menu (Thursday-Monday Sit-in/ Takeaway), Separate Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten Free Menus are also available. Booking is recommended.
Pre Christmas Menu also available 23rd November 2024 - 24th December 2024, Evenings Only. Available at lunchtime on request.

We offer a wide range of catering packages for your event, from plated dinners, canapés, light lunches, buffet style dinners, and much more. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements for your event. High Teas and Afternoon Teas can also be catered for, for groups of more than 6, but has to be booked at least a week in advance.

Excellent food and service, but that’s normal and expected here. A few changes to the menu since we last ate here, all good.

All ok very enjoyable would recommend this hotel and restaurant a very enjoyable evening meal in pleasant surroundings attentive and friendly staff quite good value for money

Friendly, efficient staff serving good food. We ate quite early (6 pm) so the restuarant and bar were not bussling but busy enough to have a nice atmosphere

Lovely meal for my husband’s Birthday. Varied menu suited everyone. Staff were efficient and friendly. Great food and wine in walking distance from home.

We booked on Open Table whilst there were two bookings left. One at 20:00 and the other at 20:15. We were told on arrival that the kitchen closes at 20:00 however, the front of house and chef team were very accommodating. They were polite, friendly and attentive. We both ordered the Chicken Pie and were not disappointed, the side of greens were lovely, as were the chips, gravy and pie! It is a lovely place and we would highly recommend it.

Food and service were very good. The hotel is a little “tired” and could use an upgrade in terms of the decor.

We loved it so much we booked a second night. Great staff who work really hard and are friendly. Super food. Lots of local people which is always a good sign.

We loved it here. Such friendly staff, who were on the ball and delicious food with some really interesting and different choices. Don’t go if you don’t like dogs. I’m not keen but was able to sit in the main dining room where there weren’t any. But the dog lovers were in their element. We liked the food so much we booked to go again. A relaxed vibe. Very nice toilets, very clean

Two of our meals were as excellent as usual. My wife ordered the spaghetti meatballs and while the pasta and sauce were ok the meatballs were vastly overcooked and like boulders. Sadly inedible. Shame as this is our “local” where we take all our visitors .
