Buccan Ratings and Reviews
I went to Buccan in a Monday night to have dinner with my friend. We shared she tuna and steak tartare as appetizers and then we continue with a bunch of small plates. The Brussels sprouts caesar salad was terrific and the corn agnolotti as well! Our waiter, Sebastian was amazing and he provide us the best service we could possibly have. We got a bottle of wine since that had 50% off for all the bottles of wine or sampagne every Monday night. Overall, we had such a great night, the food and atmosphere was outstanding! definitely recommend the place to anyone. This is our new favorite restaurant in West Palm Beach.
Chicken cordon bleu sliders were fantastic as were the corn pasta referred to as little pillows of heaven. Those were our favorites. Also liked the squash blossoms. The watermelon martini was a little weak for that price but overall the small bites were great.
We had to wait 25 minutes for our table. They were not gracious about it at all. Restaurant was so overcrowded there is really no place to wait for your table without being bumped and jostled. The noise level was actually insanely unpleasant. I am done with his very pretentious restaurant. Many other excellent places to go in area that do not subject you to this.
Fabulous food and service. Excellent wine by glass and great bourbon list. Waitstaff extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Grouper was to die for and house made ice cream was a stand out. Palm Beach does not lack for good to great restaurants but Buccan shines
Sat down immediately upon entering restaurant! Tables for 2 tight and on top of each other and tiny.
Everything we ate was absolutely delicious! Chicken cordon bleu sliders, hot dog panini with sauerkraut, caesar salad brussel sprouts, and squid ink pasta with sausage and conch. The lamb chop was nothing special. Loved the extensive wine list but opted for watermelon martini which was just ok.
Our waiter and service was excellent.
Made reservations over a week in advance. Hostess tried to seat us IN the kitchen. 20% of tables still empty when we left. Wondering why we were treated like second class citizens? Especially when I take people there every other week during WEF season! Wait staff was lovely though.
Continues to be top food choice on the Island--innovative with a wide variety of dishes. Very service oriented and eager to pair wines with food, allow tastes and generally cater to guests. Tourists come to this place in droves, making it hard to get reservations, but guess that's the price of success. Noise level is very high, which is only negative about the place--small price to pay for otherwise excellent experience. Very stylish crowd, with a good mix of ages. Bartenders are friendly without any attitude--compared to a Bricktops, for example.
Simply stated, Buccan has become our all-time favorite...the food, the service, its all fantastic. Getting a reservation is difficult but that's no surprise considering the product you provide....I love every choice on the Menu but please bring back the shrimp scampi...it was a winner!!!!!!
Great way to celebrate a birthday!
We went to Palm Beach for a few days to celebrate my 70th birthday. We liked the reviews of Buccan so we made a reservation before we left for PB. On the evening of my birthday we went to Buccan for dinner. We were seated at the table of our choice and immediately greeted by our waiter. Our waiter was most pleasant and helpful as we navigated the menu. We opted for the small plates and were not disappointed. The tuna and beef tartar were the best we have ever had. We moved on to share a couple of salads also excellent and very different than anything we've had before. We shared one more dish - some kind of squid combination and then we were totally full. Before we knew it our waiter brought a beautiful birthday treat to our table. Coincidentally, the two other women next to us were celebrating their birthday too and had the same day of birth as me. What a wonderful evening!
Have been to this restaurant before. Cool atmosphere, the food is consistently delicious. It is a hot spot in town, and the snooty service reflects this. Our waiter was pretty impersonal. But I go back for the food, especially the warm Brussel ceasar and the sweet corn agnolotti.
My wife and I vacation in Palm Beach regularly and always look forward to a meal at Buccan. It is usually phenomenal. Most dishes are small plate items and we are never rushed. The server usually lays out how the meal will be served and asks what order we would want the dishes in. The server did not ask this time around and all of our small plates came out at the same time. There was barely any room on the table for all of the plates and they seemed to want us out of there ASAP, which was odd because the restaurant was not packed to capacity on a Sunday. The food is wonderful and maybe the server was new but a manager never even came to check on us. After spending a lot of money over the years in a restaurant, I cannot say this latest experience makes me look forward to returning. This review may sound ridiculous to people who do not go out much but we enjoy fine dining and expect a certain level of service on the rare occasions we get to go out alone and have someone to watch our 2 kids. We still had a great time but not because of Buccan.
