Buccan (pronounced boo-cahn) is a restaurant, bar and lounge in the heart of Palm Beach. The concept, conceived by acclaimed Miami Chef Clay Conley, is primarily a high-end bistro, featuring progressive American cuisine, in a casually sophisticated setting. The predominant characteristic of buccan's menu is a changing array of small plates - highlighting the use of superior ingredients and preparation - offering an adventurous and memorable dining experience.

Suffice to say that we spend winters in the Delray/Boynton area and happily drive to Buccan when we can get a reservation--at least once a week. Coming from Manhattan and having been a food writer in my distant past, I know my way around a dining table in many countries. (We just spent a food-driven week in Asturias, eating at Michelin- and Repsol-rated venues;; my partner told Clay that he liked Buccan better than any of those including some pretty big names!) The fact that we drive so far should be testament enough to the food and ambience created by Clay and his staff. I could go on and on mentioning the servers by name but honestly, there is not a mediocre one in the bunch. Ditto the food. We saw you last Wednesday and will see you this week once more...
I have dined at Buccan many times but this last experience was probably my last. The food is always excellent but the noise and the antics of the crowd of wanna be hipsters in the restaurant made it an altogether unpleasant experience. The atmosphere was that of a pub or nightclub rather than a restaurant on a Sunday night. I will take my business elsewhere.
We loved Buccan! Katy was an excellent, friendly and efficient waitress. The oysters were amazing and we shared a number of appetizers including the Hamachi Tiradito, the Warm Brussels Sprouts “Caesar”, the Short Rib Empanada and the Pork Taco. All the appetizers were amazing. The “Nikujaga” NY Strip was cooked to perfection and the Mishroom Pizza was one of the best pizzas we’ve ever eaten. We’ll be back for sure.
Excellent restaurant. Great food. Very approachable menu-chorizo stuffed dates are a must try. Mushroom pizza truly best I ever had and the chicken and mashed potatoes are to die for. Many many other more high end dishes to choose from, as well as, no issue ordering great sushi from sister restaurant next door-Imoto which we've been to multiple times and is equally as amazing. 2 of our top 3 restaurants on Palm Beach.
I have only been back 3 weeks and have been there twice. The menu has new additions and the dessert offers have really been increased. The steak tartare, octopus tabbouleh, and kale salad were perfection. Peter was great, and although I am a Fransicso fan, I know the menu so well it all was perfect.
We shared the basil black pepper ice cream. OMG too good!!! I have not found a place like this in NYC.This might make me move here. I am not kidding!!
I was very much looking for trying this restaurant and was saving for a special occasion. Very disappointed overall, arrived few minutes earlier and the hostess showed zero hospitality nor did she try to help us when asked where should we wait for our table. I order a tea and my server never told me my options and just got the black tea, guest preferences... I guess is not that important on a scale of this restaurant. After putting the appetizers order she REMOVED the menus not even asking us if we would like to order entrees?! I had to get up from my table and get the menu back. When asked for the suggestions as a first time guests she just pointed out to one appetizer without giving any description. At that point me and my husband were so disappointed that all we wanted to get out of there and never come back. It ruined our night completely.
I have lived and traveled all of world and eaten at many Michelin restaurants, I anticipate Clay Conley will be recognized by Michelin in multi-stars very soon.
The cuisine is varied, excellent, healthy and creative.
We feel very fortunate to be only 7 minutes drive away, Buccan is our “ go-to”.The best!
Great 1st experience at Buccan. Our waiter, Andrew was the bomb. He gave us a great interpretation of the menu. That was totally necessary for a 1st timer. The menu is mostly small plates but really not that small. You will want to order 2 to 3 of these for 2 people or one per person for larger groups. I suggest you order one at a time... the food came out really fast. We had in order of favorites... sweet corn agnolotti, short-rib empanadas (1 per person) and hotdog panini. The pizza. Also looked amazing.... next time maybe!
We come to Buccan every time we visit Palm Beach and it gets better every time. The food choices are so variable and Everthing we order is always so good we can’t decide what to order next. Wine choices are plenty and prices very reasonable. And best of all everybody seems to be having a great time. You go in not knowing anyone and before you leave all tables around you are “ one group” comparing dishes and wines!

Disappointed to say the least came hungry left upset because food was ok. Fresh is the only good adjective I can use sorry. Celebrity chef should have higher standards. Definitely won’t be coming back nor will I be recommending to anyone. STAY AWAY!
