Food was good , however felt is was over priced . We couldn't read the menu's as the print was very small and the room was very dark . Service was good .
Seating us between two large parties was very unkind.
10/10 food and service. Dining room was louder than I expected but overall great meal.
Everything was great. Very expensive!!!
The management and staff were absolutely second to none. The bar program was small but very carefully selected, gorgeous and very much designed around supporting the menu. The food was out of this world, both complex and simple, and we were guided through the entire experinece by the very deft and attentive Rachel, who very much made our night. This is a very special place, deserving of its reputation.
Our experience at Buca was overall really great. The only thing i would have changed: our waitress brought out a beautiful steak and told us all about how it was aged for 45 days in wagu fat. She had our mouths watering and did a great job selling it. I just wish she told us the price. After ordering it and eating it, it was exceptional, but no one likes being surprised when they get the bill. Maybe it is just a suggestion, but i think the customer should be informed of the price of specials wether they asked or not. Other than that everything was top notch.
Service was not fitting for the price and quality of food.
Great place. Works for most occasions. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Had a great time! Service was attentive and food was perfect.
We had an early reservation at 6pm. So it was really quiet in the beginning, but it got busier and louder as the evening progressed. Even then, somehow I wasn’t a huge fan of the ambience. It was a bit dark.
The appetizers were delicious!! So was the dessert, which came with 2 candles, since I had mentioned we were both celebrating our birthdays when reserving. But there were very less options for main course outside of a pasta or pizza dish. The steaks were REALLY expensive!! $220 market price for a 32oz steak. The 7oz was $90. We have dined at many upscale restaurants. Nowhere has it been this expensive. No bread served at the table. For these two reasons (and ambience), I wouldn’t recommend the place.
Service and hospitality was amazing!! They sent us home with 2 boxes of freshly made pasta and associated ingredients to make the dish at home. Lovely surprise birthday gifts; really grateful!!
Brought out of town family here. Food was excellent but we were seated in a back empty room
Several outstanding dishes, the Trota cruda was spectacular. Ended on a tagliatelle ragu that was cooked “broken” dente, as opposed to el, so much so it wouldn’t sauce properly. That woulda been the only disappointment for the night until the check came, when we found out the glasses of vin were 30 CAD each, ouch.
Very helpful service, yummy bread and delicious pastas!
Amazing as always!!!
Authentic dishes, well thought menu and very knowledgeable servers to make suggestions.
Amazing as always.
Andrea was excellent
We had a wonderful experience at Buca. I loved the décor, the staff was very professional and friendly and the food was great.
Best Italian Food in Toronto. Hands down
We let our server create a meal experience for us, and we loved everything that we had!
We would go back again!
My boyfriend and I had the privilege of visiting Buca on Sunday for his birthday celebration. We were beyond impressed with the food, presentation and service we recieved. Being in the service industry myself I genuinely felt that our overall guest experience was inpecable and exceeded our expectations. We will definately be returning and want to thank them for an amazing expirience and making his birthday a special one.
Front door service was rude even though we had a reservation we brought one extra person and they acted as though we committed a crime.
Pizza was cold and had a plastic taste. Acorn squash vegetable dish was more of a dessert. Pasta was good.
Thanks for the birthday take home pasta!
Eggplant tower= delicious
Tortellini= flavour burst
Squash= I loved it, husband not a fan but it’s squash...
Service was great too. I look forward to going back.
Food was amazing. Seating system was strange. We had to ask to move to an optimal seat. Besides that, the evening was perfect, the service is great.
Overall experience from being greeted to table very good
Waiter was not generally informative more gave a feeling of being obligated to answer questions as if too say you really dont understand that!
I asked for & received a non menu pasta dish which was excellent to which I went to kitchen area & personally acknowledged the chef for his preparation
I do not expect to be treated in a demeaning manner ....... I felt I was & therefore would not return there is choice!
The food is delicious, but the pasta portions are incredibly small. Got three different cheeses with the garlic knots to start and then two pastas to split with my girlfriend. Had a couple of drinks each and still spent $190. Went home hungry.
This is the best dining experience i have had hands down in my entire life. Food was amazing and tasty! The chefs here know exactly what they are doing. Service was amazing too! Went with my wife for our anniversary and will continue to go every year! Thank you Buca team for the amazing dining experience!
We always have high expectations...never disappointed. On a cold February nite we fall into the warmth that is Buca. Our server Chelsea expertly guided us through the vast array of choices. I always try to find something that I might not get anywhere else. I had the pasta dish with lamb made with pasta hand made from Italy. Incredible!! My wife’s branzino was done to perfection. Why would we go anywhere else?
Always be the favourite Italian Restaurant in Toronto. There are picky guests come and go. Wish the restaurant can deal with them with better skills, because we want the service, but the waiter was stacked with the other picky customer for a very long time. When one of the waitresses separate the pasta I told her that was enough for me, but she still keeping giving me that is really hilarious:)
The food was amazing and so was the wine. Our server was quite pushy in trying to get us to order more food and not taking no for an answer, it got uncomfortable.
We had the GNOCCHI RIPIENI, It was good but definitively not worth $55. We were quite disappointed.
Excellent food and service. The atmosphere was weird and mismatched. Very loud and too well lit for their plain painted walls. Could use some interior design improvements to match the space with the quality of food and booze.
Ok food, very cold absent service. Don’t believe the hype.
Waiter didn't know much about the wine list. Unfortunately the Sommelier was not working that night either.
Buca does not disappoint. I too often have been let down when eating Italian in this city. Buca is Italian done right. Every dish was impeccable. Even the bread knots and warmed olives to nosh on as a start were memorable. We shared throughout the night and I highly recommend this method. We had the most incredible truffle cheese stuffed gnocchi, it literally melted in your mouth. We also enjoyed very tasty scallops and dandelion side as our main. What blew me away was the a very different take on Tiramisu dessert that I might just have to go back for. Added touch was a take away box of fresh pasta delivered by a very attentive manager who noticed it was a birthday dinner. Even without bday dinner, packaged amaretti cookies are sweet gesture. Top points for service throughout: our server was genuinely pleasant and checked in at all the right moments. The food runners were smiling and engaged too which stood out. The only thing I would share is that this is a very vibrant, loud space...So if you are looking for a quiet dining experience you should be aware. Food however is very much worth having to speak loudly over to your fellow diner(s) in my opinion.
Always love coming to Buca. One of my Toronto favourites.
Love the pizza! Best in the city! And the tiramisu was delicious ...
