Server was amazing. Burata and carbonara was to die for.
I feel that this restaurant is somewhat contrived. Glad to have gone once. The presentation of the dishes is excellent. I like small portions but if you like hearty meals don’t go here. If you like small bites and want to try tastes of unusual food items then you will be happy. I would not go back despite the excellent service. A little too eclectic and Lacks much in the way of ambience.
The wine list is strictly Italian wines with not much information for those who are more knowledgeable about California or French wines. However our waitperson offered good advice and a taste of one wine before we ordered.
Burrata pizzand branzino excellent. Suggest turning off the Italian radio at lunch!
Food tasted fantastic and service was impeccable.
Fantastic place for Mother’s Day brunch! Thanks!!
Nice decor, average food, excellent service. This place is definitely more upscale than your average brunch places, but its nice for special occasions.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Although I have been here a few times before and liked it tonight it was not a good experience at all. Service was terrible..our server was not helpful with the menu which is not the easiest to see small light print or unless you speak/read Italian (and I do).
We saw our drinks sitting at the bar for at least 10 minutes before we finally asked another server to bring them to us. She (server) was then pretty much M.I.A. for the rest of the night until we given our bill.
The fish salami board ($42) was expensive but very different and have to give props for this.
The fennel salad ($16) was tasty but meager
We found at least 8 bones in our small portion of salt encrusted fish ($160) and the side of spaghetti pomodoro (which I though was included) was another $24
All in all there was no value in the meal and the 18%service given.
I have to give some blame to management on staff to get on it because at $500 a couple (with wine and cocktails) I do not wanted to have to write a review like this.
Awesome from start to finish. Amazing pizza...come here every time we are in Toronto
Fabulous meal - good service - fun. Pasta with squid ink is delicious!!!!
Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time! We had a great and very attentive server, the food was top notch high quality and the ambiance was romantic!
Absolutely suggest this spot to anyone and everyone!
Thanks for a great evening!
My favorite restaurant whenever I visit Toronto. Excellent service, wine list and food. Everything is always perfect!
Wonderful experience! Food was incredible as usual.
There for my wife's birthday. Food excellent and unique. The service very attentive and engaging. And the biggest plus was something I've never seen before-- in honour of her birthday we were given a nice little box of your ingredients to take home and prepare and have another fine BUCA meal. Thank you for that.
Great food and amazing service.
You will not be disappointed
Hi, I don’t normally do reviews but I had to say something. While the burrata pizza was lovely as always- the waiter brought an $85 bottle of Pinot Grigio when I intended to order the $60 bottle. This was tacky and I resisted saying anything when the bill came which is what he probably assumed I would do. That’s not cool. If the waiter isn’t sure which bottle was ordered, they should confirm with the customer and not automatically up-sell .
Best burrata pizza!
I went to Buca Yorkville with my girlfriend for our anniversary. The restaurant was recently named one of the best restaurants in Canada for 2018 (#4). So, naturally, we had high expectations. And believe me, they did not disappoint! The service was amazing. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and well versed with the menu. He was incredibly patient and understanding of my girlfriends food allergies. He was accommodating and very helpful recommending non-dairy and tomato free dishes at an Italian restaurant (which is usually unheard of!). We had such an amazing night. The food presentation and experience was top notch. I was even impressed that they sprayed rose water on our glass to enhance the aroma of the drink. If that wasn’t enough, at the end of our night, someone from the kitchen came to our table to give us a gift for our anniversary. Highly recommend Buca and will come here again. Loved it.
Great food and great service. They even added a little extra surprise for us at the end to make the occasion extra special. Would recommend to everyone! We look forward to coming back again.
Our server Andrew was outstanding!
The food was amazing and the service was great. Very helpfully and knowledgeable server.
Having been there a few times, my take is that the puzzle are fantastic. The pastas are too salty overpowering other tastes. Thr spaghetti alla carbonara was not good. Extremely salty. The raw egg was mixed with the pasta upon serving. One egg is too much for such a small portion resulting in runny egg in the pasta.. the traditional authentic way is prepared differently. There was no Parmigiano in the pasta that a carbonara should have. The portion is half of what you usually get elsewhere. We two persons ordered one order of nordini but were charged for two orders.
Service was just ok. Black Pepper was not offered, we had to ask for it
Cheryl, our server, was fabulous and the food was amazing!!! I’ll be back.
We were in Toronto just for the afternoon and wanted someplace special for lunch. Buca fit the bill! Great service, great ambiance, great food. Sophisticated, relaxed and delicious. Would definitely go back.
Excellent food! The house-cured fish were definitely not to be missed, and the bison was extremely tender! Dessert was great, and the pasta package they gave us to bring home was a very nice touch. The only complaint was that we felt abandoned for the first 10 minutes after being seated (no menu or water), but the wait staff was extremely gracious after that. We would definitely come back!
Perfect restaurant. Outstanding food, only out done by the friendly knowledgeable service. Everyone employee genuinely cared from the moment we arrive until we left.
Had brunch, bread knots outstanding, bombolone rich but balanced dish. Pizza was classic Italian, paper thin, full of flavor. Had the doughnuts to finish. Everything right with the world.
The food was horrible and there were very loud and obnoxious tables having parties that were disruptive to the rest of the people eating
Amazing as always!
Great menu and the food is really great. Lots of amazing seafood done creatively. Service is good although they are a little inflexible when the request is counter to the rules! I will go back....often.
Overall a great experience! Food was impeccable.... Very reminiscent of the former Pulinos in SoHo NYC. Service was efficient and pleasant. Decor was very fresh. Will definitely be back!
Excellent food with 'local' emphasis (e.g. lobster from Nova Scotia). Attentive service. If the restaurant is busy, as it was on Friday lunch, it is a bit noisy for conversation across a table for two. We were thrilled and surprised to receive a take away gift box of all ingredients for making our own pasta-for-two (maybe because we revealed our anniversary celebration). That was also delicious (though we're not likely to get hired as cooks!)
The menu at Buca (Yorkville) is very interesting and the food lives up to the descriptions. The salumi were superb,as was the bison. Desserts were excellent. Our server (Max) was attentive and helpful. The one disappointment was the duck pasta. The sauce was too rich. The pizzelle are out of this world.
Outstanding food and ambience. Friendly staff and very precise plating. Sit at the chef's table if can get a spot!
Amazing restaurant. Service was impeccable and food was amazing as always!!!
Always amazing! One of the best pizzas in Toronto, great pastas and apps. You will love it!
I’ve been to other Buca locations and this specific location had the worst food. Ive had great food at the other locations. At this location I nearly felt sick from the taste and the rest of the dishes we tried were either way too simple (nothing special) or absolutely terrible. And to pay that kind of value for this kind of food... definitely horrible! Service was okay.
A must eat for Canada... everything was perfect . The food was amazing, the wine paired perfectly and ultimately a top resturant in canada, I have been to most of the top 20 and this one deserves it’s spot
It was a dinner for five on a Thursday night: very good pizzas, a great selections of wines but the place was extremely NOISY. It was quite hard to have decent conversations even though we had a separate corner with partition glass to ourselves.
Was it because the entire restaurant dining room is surrounded by concrete/cement walls and therefore the noise was bouncing all over the place?
Suggest that management install some kinds of materials (fabrics) on the walls to mute a bit the noise.
