About
Our meal at Buca was great, pasta was extremely fresh and flavourful and the pizza was amazing. The crust has a nice crunch to it that I Haven’t had at other Italian restaurants. Since we celebrated our anniversary there the host gave us fresh pasta and ingredients to make a meal at home which was a very nice gesture!
Interesting choices, fish charcuterie board to share, perfectly prepared European bass and outstanding deserts. We tried the Tiramisù and the sepia and Chocolat cake, both were memorable!
We almost always go to Buca when we are in Toronto. Very comforting fantastic food and great service.
The servers are really nice and attentive. Food was good, oysters were definitely the highlight (the plain ones I suggest ordering). Reserve a specific style table (don’t be stuck between the bar and booths).
BUCA is typically very nice, however this experience was a little off. Always recommend BUCA, maybe it was an off night.
One of the best restaurants in Toronto, on a fronts!
I first came here for my 7th anniversary and had a wonderful time. Been back many times since then and it never disappoints. Great quality service and food. It's a bit pricey but worth it!
Buca Yorkville is a Grand Restaurant where they serve ‘simple’ quintessentially Italian food that is extremely well prepared and refined.
The presentation is almost Zenlike and a feast for the eye, but it is what they do with the beautifully sourced ingredients that is the most important of course.
There wine list is impressive and although $100 is a lot of money for a Verdicchio their Verdicchio dei Castello di Jesi Classico superior was outstanding.
The (waiting) staff are in all aspects true professionals.
We did share dishes like the branzino in lemon and olive oil, the cured fish, radicchio salad, a pizza, a pasta dish and deserts. It is a good way to explore the not overlong menu. Ordering for three was enough for our company of four.
Expect to pay a price for this totally satisfying experience.
We got really sick after eating dinner we called to tell the restaurant and nothing has been done I will not go back after having the experience
Buca is my favourite restaurant in Toronto, and has been for some time. It's the place I go to when I want to celebrate special occasions.
It's no fault of the restaurant, but hands down, every time I've been to Bucca (King or Yorkville), another guest sitting close to me at the restaurant has taken our their phone, and used their phones flashlight to read the menu. It's a small distraction that seems to happen every time I'm at Buca. I personally like the ambiance in Buca, and the lighting is fine for me to see the menu. It seems like others struggle with reading in the kind of ambiance Buca has, so perhaps there is an opportunity to improve the experience for them, without those guests taking "lighting" into their own hands, and distracting others.
The food is excellent, which brings us back. The service is atrocious. It’s like they have trained the hostess and servers to treat your presence like a massive inconvenience to their day.
Buca is always a guaranteed wonderful experience
We felt it was a bit pricey for the wine, food was very good but also pricy
Very limited vegetarian selection
Amazing food and amazing service
All was very good, the service was excellent as always. It’s just very expensive, and very noisy in the back part of the restaurant.
The best pizza
Valentine’s day
Impressive service, and equally impressive food. High quality, fresh ingredients were used in our dishes and this was very evident from tasting. I will definitely be returning.
We made a reservation for 10pm, which was confirmed by their staff. The end of our meal felt quite rushed as the staff wanted to get home for the night. The food was good, but the service was less than welcoming, especially as the night went on. I’m sorry you had to stay late for us, but you knew what you were getting when you confirmed my reservation for 10pm. When I drop $400 on a nice meal and am expected to tip based on a percentage, I expect more from the service than this.
Excellent all round.
Not many options for starters, very creative dishes, some of them really amazes you but some of them felt like are a little try hard (to look creative). Cocktails are really successful, wasn’t really accurate to description though (my lemon peel wasn’t burnt as described, it was just a twist but I was excited about it). Great service, welcoming desk is 4 stars, but the rest of the staff was really nice and honest. Desserts were a little under level compare to the rest of the menu.
Our server gave great service. Other than that, we thought the food was overrated. Definitely not worth the cost.
Absolutely outstanding! The service was beyond compare and the food was so unique – try the cured fish "charcuterie" board with squid ink dumplings!
Authentic and delicious. Attentive service. Prefer Yorkdale location to others for space.
We had a lovely lunch. Shared a wonderful pizza. Not cheap but the food was good.
Great food and service. Always an enjoyable experience. Nodini is a must order.
wonderful food and service. Prefer if it was a nicer décor to be frank.
Fabulous food and service
Food and service was spectacular! Thank you!!!
Amazing !!!
the staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. The food was beautifully presented and consistently delicious. All in all, it was great time and we will return.
Bread knots where too hard
Awesome. One of the best in the city.
I came in on Sunday morning with a friend and have been waiting to dine here for quite some time. I made a note on OpenTable stating that I have a severe nut allergy. Upon arrival, my allergy was acknowledged by our server which was very assuring. However, when I ordered the stracciatella + the bomboloni to share with my guest - our server mentioned that the "truffle paste" would have to be subbed out because it may contain nuts.
When our food arrived, a third plate that we did not order came out as well. We weren't sure if this was a mistake or simply a gesture - so we happily ate our meal and shared every dish as mentioned earlier. It wasn't until three hours later in the middle of my shift when I started to experience severe anaphylaxis and had to make arrangements to potentially go to the emergency. I called the restaurant and inquired about the dishes we had - turns out the bomboloni indeed had nuts.
It is now very clear to me that the third dish mentioned above was sent as an alternative to the bomboloni - never once was I told the bomboloni had nuts. There was - obviously - some form of miscommunication on one (or both) of our ends. You would think that our server would have mentioned something as she watched me eat the bomboloni knowing I had a severe allergy. I tried to notify the restaurant through their website. The food was outstanding (even the bomboloni....) , although the service we received was not nearly up to par for such a highly regarded restaurant.
Beautiful place with a focused menu and an extensive wine list!
Amazing restaurant. One of the best Italian restaurants in this city of Toronto.
The food portion size was ridiculously small... A main meal was 3/4 the of than my iPhone in total. Expensive for this pretentious restaurant
Food and service was great. Niccolo was very knowledgeable about the food and wine.
