Buca di Beppo - Bally's Ratings and Reviews
The service was absolutely terrible! Both hostess at the front had no idea what they were doing and were just walking around doing nothing. Then our waiter took about 20 minutes to come to our table to get out drink order, which he forgot when he came back a second time, and barely even checked on us to make sure everything was ok. The food took forever to come out and wasn't all that great. It was definitely not worth the money and I probably won't go back again.
Chicken parm and pasta was good, meatballs bland and tasteless. Bread served with meal was also tasteless and without any texture or crunch. The group ordering system with meals priced for 2-3 small or 4-6 large makes it difficult for a couple to dine unless both in sync wanting same food.
One of our family favorites. Food is delicious tried many of the items and loved them all some of our favorites I are the mussels , chicken parm, lasagna, pasta Mariana with meetballs and pasta with the seafood ... staff is very friendly and pleasant but a little slow. Enjoy!
Not very good. I know it's a chain but I expected more the chicken parm was soft and mushy and then pene alla vodka was runny. You can get a better meal at Olive Garden. The portion sizes are huge as it is family style so it's a good value it the food was better. We won't be back though
Great food - service was terrible. We were rushed from the moment we sat. Reservations were for 5 PM . there was no line walked right up to the hostess. server rushed us through ordering drinks, appetizers with dinner coming before we were done with appetizers. The excuse given they had large parties coming in. That was a lie. We were not even offered dessert - we had to request coffee. Also when making the reservation through open table we had requested to celebrate a birthday - there was no acknowledgement of the birthday at all. Very disappointed.
1. Friendly staff. 2. Clean restaurant 3. Awesome food 4. Go hungry as they give you plenty, I didn't notice anyone leaving there without a doggie bag. The only thing I didn't like was everything was served for 2 or more people. Meals were $29.99 but they were all meant to share. Unless you have someone that wants to eat the exact thing you want to eat you'll have to order 2 separate meals as they don't serve single servings and it will cost $60 not including appetizers ,drinks or dessert. My husband and I ordered separate meals and brought home enough leftovers for 3 more dinners. My suggestion would be to go with 4 or more people so you can share.
It was great! I had made a reservation for my mom and grandmother for mother's day. The prices was excellent for the portions we received. We love family style restaurants. The waitress was very warm and pleasant. The chicken parm and chicken marsala were very flavorful. The pasta and marinara sauce was also very good. The only complaint I have was that service was on the slow side, but I can expect that since it was Mother's Day. My family and I would definately come here again.
The restaurant was empty yet our service was poor. Our waiter came to take our order, and never asked for a drink order. Despite asking, we never received a wine list so just ordered a bottle of the "house red." We had to remind him again to bring us our wine, which took a very long time. The food was good, but as we were literally one of three tables at the time - I expected better service. We will probably not be returning.
Because Buca di Beppo is right inside of Bally's, it is a convenient place for a meal. We also were able to get a discount off the cost of our dinner because of the conference badge my fiance had as part of the meeting he was attending.
Whether because Atlantic City is not as busy as it once was, or because Monday and Tuesdays do not present a need, a number of restaurants within Bally's itself and other hotels are not open. That made Buca di Beppo a fit, just because we could get dinner without hassle. It likely would not have been our first choice as Family Style restaurants are not something I find appealing but since it was just the two of us, sharing was not an issue.
The restaurant, like the hotel, was not busy and there were many empty tables. However, our services felt uncomfortably rushed. We were still eating our salad when our server arrived with the entree. There was no reason for the hot food to have been brought out and whatever system the kitchen was using to determine the timing was ill-fitting for the specific atmosphere of the night and us, specifically.
Portions are large and there were leftovers when we were finished eating. Unfortunately that food became waste because the room we were staying in at Bally's had a refrigerator but no microwave. There was no way to re-heat the pasta if we had brought it up to the room.
The Caesar Salad was ordinary. It was well dressed but that dressing was generic. There was nothing special about it. The Spicy Chicken Rigatoni also was fine. It had flavor but not much heat. The pasta was not overly sauced nor too dry.
If we had paid full price for the meal, I would have been less happy. It was a fair to good meal at an okay price for a casino based restaurant.
This place was empty on a Saturday night. This was my first time eating there and I can understand why now. We ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer and that was not bad, however the chicken parmigiana we ordered for an entree was not good. The sauce was terrible. It really did not have a nice flavor to it. My kids ordered fettuccini Alfreda and usually they love it, however, they wouldnt eat it. I tried it and it had no flavor to it. The only thing we really enjoyed was the ice cream we had for dessert. Very disappointed.
