Bubble Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We ate at 6:45, we had the restaurant to ourselves. The service was excellent, the food was really tasty. Apparently, it is a late night dance club. The interior is really retro cool, with 60's decor and lite up pictures of Barbie dolls on the walls. The shrimp poached in champagne, aka shrimp cocktail was tasty. The cucumber and avocado wrap that was deep fried was really good. The tuna carpaccio tower was delish!!! It is a hip place for young folks!
Went on a Friday night during Restaurant Week. They were out of one of only 4 entrees to choose from (the one that we both wanted to try). Didn't tell us until we tried to order it. Despite being only half full, the entrees took at least 20 minutes after finishing appetizers. Steak was well cooked and tender. Otherwise the food was not impressive. The cocktails were ok. Took our cocktails off the bill because of the experience but still was not worth the cost of the meal.
Food was amazing, they cooked my steak perfectly and it was so tender. The kettle cooked chips and dip was a great appetizer as well. The over all service was great. Kinda pricey, but it is a very nice place too, so it is expected. A great place for a nice date. They have limited restaurant seating, it is mainly a late night drinking place with a modern and upscale atmosphere.
We went for restaurant week. Menu and food were classic American, not a lot of surprising choices but all the food was excellent and prepared well. #1 we enjoyed most champagne rose and Strawberry Envy cocktail. Beyond Excellent, fantastic but very pricey. Do wish they had a few more champagne by the glass options (consider expanding champs menu on the weekends?) Our server/bartender, Natalie was knowledgeable, attentive and personable. Atmosphere is fun, edgy, upscale club. We stayed for live DJ, clearly this guy has a following as many couples there were amateur dancers the music was insane. The dance floor crowded quickly and the place was pretty packed by 11:30. There are many VIP spots that are available for sale. The club should consider eliminating some of the spots by the dance floor as the dance floor is too small for dance following and people started stepping on one another way too early in the evening, which sadly is why we left. We likely would have stayed longer and ordered a lot more drinks if the dance floor were more spacious. Overall will absolutely be coming again, for sure!
I like Bubble as an evening lounge spot/champagne lounge, but this is the first time I have come here for a sit down dinner. I will say that the food was pretty good, but nothing outstanding when compared to restaurants with similar price points. The service could have been better as well. When I asked what the chef's vegetable of the day was, the server said "I don't know, it changes everyday." It is important for a place that is serving dinner to have staff members who are knowledgeable of the menu and available options for the day. Our server also was unable to provide any recommendations of what was good on the menu. I would also say that if Bubble is looking to expand on the dinner market, then appropriate seating options would be a good thing to think about. We were initially seated at a high bar table with stools that had no foot rests on them, so your feet literally just hang down a foot off of the floor. Very uncomfortable set up for dinner. We were reluctantly moved when asked, though we were initially told that all of the other tables (in a not very full restaurant) had been reserved. This was interesting, being that we had reservations as well and also being that the whole time we were there, there may have been 5 other tables utilized.
Fun place if you aren't the only ones in there like we were. I requested a booth but they sat us at a table even though there wasn't another person there. Food was ok and it's the 2nd time I had been there and tried to order a pretty lady cocktail with the cotton candy and was told again a year later that the machine was broken. Could be so much more than it is right now.
I rarely get downtown these days , but was taking my Mom to the Neil Diamond concert so searched around for a nearby restaurant. Thought this concept (a "Champagne Lounge" with food) was a fun idea. We arrived around 6:25 for our 6:15 reservation because of parking issues. We were greeted by the Host with an apology that they were running 5 minutes late with out table, and would we mind sitting at the bar for a few minutes with a complimentary glass of champagne or wine. Would we mind????
That was the beginning of a truly memorable experience. The bartender was so gracious, serving us a fine glass each. Then in less than five minutes, our table was ready. (And we still had the free champagne!). Our server Maria was lovely. It was the last night of "Wine and Tapas Week" and she patiently explained the menu. It was an exceptional deal so we each ordered two tapas dishes and wine that came along with those. The food was remarkably good for what was essentially a bar. Lobster spring rolls, bacon and Brie on toast with carmelized onions, shrimp and polenta.
It was a surprise. I thought we were just going for the champagne, but the food was outstanding. As was the service. I am sure it gets crowded and maybe a little rowdy later in the night, but for a pre-show experience, it was awesome. You should give it a try.
The food was exactly what I expected from James Beard nominated executive chef Gerrell Cox. He was nominated two years ago as best sous chef southeast by Bon Vivant Culinary, a catering company he now co owns. Unfortunately Bubble is still recognizing their former chef who Cox replaced on menu and in signage in front of the restaurant. Jamie isn't half the chef Gerrell is so they would do good to update this and acknowledge their new outstanding Beard House nominated Executive Chef Gerrell Cox as his food is some of the best in the region and Bubble serves as an exceptional example of this.
This place is everything that's wrong about uptown. Overpriced, and under quality. So loud, because of a private party. The charcuterie plate was unbelievably lame, like they just went to Harris Teeter and bought some butterfly crackers, packaged prosciutto, and the cheapest cheese. Save your money folks. Plenty of real restaurants nearby.
We went to Bubble for Charlotte Restaurant week and to celebrate my friend's 50th birthday. The waiter ("Slim") was amazing and very attentive to our group! The food portions were HUGE and delicious (JUMBO shrimp for the shrimp cocktail and a very big piece of salmon). We had a nice space for our group of 5 and when the lights went down and music got loud around 10 pm we moved on. But, overall a great first experience and will return again.
My husband and I tried Bubble during Queen's Feast restaurant week. We went early in the evening so it was very quiet in the restaurant, though I'm sure that it gets quite energetic later on. $30 per person was a good deal and we each had leftovers to take home. We were seated at a tall table in the bar area, which would be a great spot for people-watching if the place had been more crowded. Our server wasn't particularly attentive and we really noticed the difference when a different and much more engaged server was taking care of the couple seated next to us. We'll definitely return again
We went with two other couples for dinner and everyone enjoyed it. Reservations were for 6:45 on a Sat. And there was only one other small group at the bar when we arrived. Two other groups were seated right before we left. The waiter, who was great, said the crowd picked up later when they switched more to a club-like feel. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed our food. We all want to go back again for dinner!
Went to Bubble with 2 friends for dinner and it was great! We were there at 8:00 for dinner and were pretty much the only people in the restaurant, which was great because it has a fun vibe but wasn't loud or crowded. It is obviously a spot that gets most of it's customers later in the night as a club, but the food was fantastic and the service was great so it made for a perfect night out.
Bubble is not a restaurant. Friends were looking to go to restaurant week, and this restaurant was listed. When I asked for fresh ground pepper for my salad, the waitress had no idea what I was talking about. My girlfriend asked for bread to go with her steak. Not an option. I asked to speak to the manager. He said, and I quote "Bubble is a bar with a kitchen." We are trying to establish a restaurant clientele. They definitely are not ready for dinner guests!
My best friend and I decided to dine at Bubble for Charlotte Restaurant Week.
I am new to the area so I look forward to these events!
The interior was BEAUTIFUL! The classic Barbie portraits were a delight to see...though it would have been great to see some diversity in that.
Our service was EXCELLENT! It was extremely FAST! The food was VERY GOOD!!!
The chef even visited our table at the end of our meal and shared a laugh at my "Frenglish!"Lol!
Looking forward to dining there again!
The food was amazing, as always. People are always surprised when I share the fact that Bubble has food. I have been there nights when the dinner crowd is busy and I've been there times when the crowd is non-existent; but usually for a good reason. The chef, sous chef and every employee was overly nice and accommodating and I enjoy eating here very much.
I chose Bubble Lounge for our bachelorette party dinner based on its location and good reviews. I was a little worried when we walked in and were the only people in the restaurant but we were not disappointed! We had great service, the drinks were strong (though pricey) and the food was delicious. The chef even came to our table to make sure everything was to our liking. I think the restaurant may just be overlooked as a dinner location but I would highly recommend it!
