Was so impressed when the restaurant called to confirm and asked if we were going to the show at the Spectrum Center. I said yes and the gentleman assured me they would get us in and out quickly. Once we arrived, the hostess again confirmed and said they would get us out quickly. We were seated immediately. It took a while for the waiter to come over and ask if we would like to see the drink menu. He recommended cocktails and we placed our food order. And we waited and waited. 35 minutes after arriving he apologized for the delay and said our appetizer would be out shortly. We told him we needed to skip the appetizer and just get our entrees. Entrees came. I ordered the penne alla vodka. It was good, although plain - may have benefited from a garnish, bread or the offer of parmesan cheese. The appetizer came while we were signing our checks. Our drinks were comped, which I really don't expect. Would consider going back for a drink but not a meal.
Very cool spot for some small bites, tried lots of different things. Love the variety of champagne cocktails. Swanky modern atmosphere. All very good - except very slow service even though it was only about half full. Make sure to tell them that you're on a schedule (we did) and then remind them!
Great Food and Service overall.
Very satisfied with the reservation and restaurant!
Will go back in the future!
The hand crafted cocktails and appetizers were delicious and creative. Very fun - we were there for restaurant week and I'm glad I tried it. My steak was a bit more done than I cared for but still had great flavor. We lucked out and had the manager as our waiter so our server was impeccable.
We went for Charlotte Restaurant Week on January 19th and do not recommend any of the food. We ordered a wedge salad and it came out with bacon bits, yes I said bacon bits! and had none of the traditional elements that make a wedge... a wedge. For our main course we ordered a stark and ribs. The steak was glorified dog food and the ribs were tougher than the sole of my shoes. Dessert was a lava cake and pound cake. Both we sub par but my cake tasted like it came from a local convenient store from the pastry rack. We were extremely disappointed. Should have known there would be an issue when we were one of only 2 couples eating the entire time (prime dinner 6-7:15). Finally, I tried to order a drink and they were out of pineapples juice. How can a bar be out of juice!?!?! I would say Bubble needs to be popped!!!!!
Great, Julie our server was awesome!
Great ambiance and cozy. However, terrible food. Margarita pizza tasted like out off a box and microwaved. Wedge salad was good. Ribs were tough. Fries ok.
Way overpriced for the quality of the food.
Stopped for a bite to eat. Food was delicious and service great. Only issue was that it was cool out and the air conditioning was kicking. So cold and it could not be adjusted. Would’ve stayed longer but too uncomfortable.
I loved the barbies on the wall! The drinks were the best in Charlotte! I loved the asparagus appetizer! The young lady that served was on point, very pleasant and fun!
We ate at 6:45, we had the restaurant to ourselves. The service was excellent, the food was really tasty. Apparently, it is a late night dance club. The interior is really retro cool, with 60's decor and lite up pictures of Barbie dolls on the walls. The shrimp poached in champagne, aka shrimp cocktail was tasty. The cucumber and avocado wrap that was deep fried was really good. The tuna carpaccio tower was delish!!! It is a hip place for young folks!
Went on a Friday night during Restaurant Week. They were out of one of only 4 entrees to choose from (the one that we both wanted to try). Didn't tell us until we tried to order it. Despite being only half full, the entrees took at least 20 minutes after finishing appetizers. Steak was well cooked and tender. Otherwise the food was not impressive. The cocktails were ok. Took our cocktails off the bill because of the experience but still was not worth the cost of the meal.
Food was amazing, they cooked my steak perfectly and it was so tender. The kettle cooked chips and dip was a great appetizer as well. The over all service was great. Kinda pricey, but it is a very nice place too, so it is expected. A great place for a nice date. They have limited restaurant seating, it is mainly a late night drinking place with a modern and upscale atmosphere.
Very pleased with various selections, quantity on plate and quality of menu items
We went for restaurant week. Menu and food were classic American, not a lot of surprising choices but all the food was excellent and prepared well. #1 we enjoyed most champagne rose and Strawberry Envy cocktail. Beyond Excellent, fantastic but very pricey. Do wish they had a few more champagne by the glass options (consider expanding champs menu on the weekends?) Our server/bartender, Natalie was knowledgeable, attentive and personable. Atmosphere is fun, edgy, upscale club. We stayed for live DJ, clearly this guy has a following as many couples there were amateur dancers the music was insane. The dance floor crowded quickly and the place was pretty packed by 11:30. There are many VIP spots that are available for sale. The club should consider eliminating some of the spots by the dance floor as the dance floor is too small for dance following and people started stepping on one another way too early in the evening, which sadly is why we left. We likely would have stayed longer and ordered a lot more drinks if the dance floor were more spacious. Overall will absolutely be coming again, for sure!
I like Bubble as an evening lounge spot/champagne lounge, but this is the first time I have come here for a sit down dinner. I will say that the food was pretty good, but nothing outstanding when compared to restaurants with similar price points. The service could have been better as well. When I asked what the chef's vegetable of the day was, the server said "I don't know, it changes everyday." It is important for a place that is serving dinner to have staff members who are knowledgeable of the menu and available options for the day. Our server also was unable to provide any recommendations of what was good on the menu. I would also say that if Bubble is looking to expand on the dinner market, then appropriate seating options would be a good thing to think about. We were initially seated at a high bar table with stools that had no foot rests on them, so your feet literally just hang down a foot off of the floor. Very uncomfortable set up for dinner. We were reluctantly moved when asked, though we were initially told that all of the other tables (in a not very full restaurant) had been reserved. This was interesting, being that we had reservations as well and also being that the whole time we were there, there may have been 5 other tables utilized.
Great experience at Bubble Lounge! We shared three items from the menu and they were all tasty. I had a raspberry martini and it was delicious! The bartender was excellent and really took pride in his job. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating.
Fun place if you aren't the only ones in there like we were. I requested a booth but they sat us at a table even though there wasn't another person there. Food was ok and it's the 2nd time I had been there and tried to order a pretty lady cocktail with the cotton candy and was told again a year later that the machine was broken. Could be so much more than it is right now.
Bubble Lounge was absolutely amazing!! We were seated on the inside first but decided to go take pictures outside on the balcony and it was so breathtaking, my best friend and I decided to eat and drink outside. Our waitress was great as well!!
Good nice, server really gave great recommendations on food choices. Quiet before for 8pm. My group enjoyed all the food served to us.
I rarely get downtown these days , but was taking my Mom to the Neil Diamond concert so searched around for a nearby restaurant. Thought this concept (a "Champagne Lounge" with food) was a fun idea. We arrived around 6:25 for our 6:15 reservation because of parking issues. We were greeted by the Host with an apology that they were running 5 minutes late with out table, and would we mind sitting at the bar for a few minutes with a complimentary glass of champagne or wine. Would we mind????
That was the beginning of a truly memorable experience. The bartender was so gracious, serving us a fine glass each. Then in less than five minutes, our table was ready. (And we still had the free champagne!). Our server Maria was lovely. It was the last night of "Wine and Tapas Week" and she patiently explained the menu. It was an exceptional deal so we each ordered two tapas dishes and wine that came along with those. The food was remarkably good for what was essentially a bar. Lobster spring rolls, bacon and Brie on toast with carmelized onions, shrimp and polenta.
It was a surprise. I thought we were just going for the champagne, but the food was outstanding. As was the service. I am sure it gets crowded and maybe a little rowdy later in the night, but for a pre-show experience, it was awesome. You should give it a try.
