Fridays just got a whole lot better. We're now celebrating the end of the workweek with a Build-Your-Own-Margarita Bar. For just $9, customize your marg just the way you like it: Start with Casamigos Blanco tequila and choose frozen or on-the-rocks, then the rest is up to you. Pick from salt rims like lime, smoke and spicy salts, then decide on a mixer—classic lime, grapefruit, coconut, cucumber, spicy strawberry or pineapple. As the bartender mixes away, choose from a variety of garnishes, including herbs, fruit, vegetable spears, blackened shrimp and more. Added bonus: There may just be some salty snacks (think pork rinds, chips and guacamole) and an ice-cold beer waiting for you at the end of the line. To reserve a table, please visit bubcitychicago.com or call 312-610-4200.

Had a great experience last night of this barbecue place. I ordered a sampler platter which way more food than one human should possibly eat. However, I managed. The barbecue was tasty and the sides were very good I have baked beans which were very flavorful the cornbread is wonderful and the Buffalo tats do not disappoint. Overall I would come back here for good barbecue and Shiner Bock. My only disappointment of the night was that the menu on OpenTable says they have burnt ends and the menu at the restaurant does not have them. Waitress informed me they have been discontinued. If in River North and in the mood for barbecue, this is a solid place to stop

We went here for a group meal (7 diners). The food was great, delicious and authentic BBQ. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Before dinner we sat at the bar for a couple of drinks. The bar staff were more than happy to go through their selection of beers and whiskey. Overall a great dining experience.

We were in town from Ohio, celebrating 2 birthdays and meeting up with a Chicago friend. It was a first time for all of us. The food was phenomenal and prices were fair. Meals are definitely shareable! Our server was helpful and fairly fast but also seemed to be a bit curt and short with us; not overly friendly. I would definitely recommend it and go there again.

Service was okay, the waitress seemed a little rude and didn’t check on us often enough. I ordered the Chipotle Mac & Cheese and it was way too spicy to eat (and I like spicy food). Their food is usually very good. The service has never been the best but the food usually makes it worth it.

Had read about this place in Chicago magazine and wanted a casual but delicious dinner. This place is casual, but the food is just not good. You'd get a better meal at a chain in a suburb. The bbq meat tasted blah and the sauces were not good. Bathrooms are in the basement and not clean. We couldn't get out of hear fast enough.

Pretty pricey and most of the foods didn't come with sides. It's BBQ, sides are the best part. I had the fried chicken supposedly nashville style. Definitely didn't taste anything like Hattie B's, mostly fried batter and little meat. Ribs were really tiny. Mac and cheese was really good.

I brought a couple friends from out of town here for dinner. The day started a little rocky, we didn't see a server for 10 minutes. The Manager noticed and came over and apologized and took our drink order and ordered us some complimentary appetizers.

The server was great, she was friendly and attentive. The food was quick, we got fried pickles for the appetizer (definitely recommend), I had shredded pork shoulder, my friend had shredded chicken.

Overall always a great experience here. If you are looking for a night out, they also have great country bands!

I made an reservation here for my husbands birthday dinner with our two friends. We were very excited about the Nashville feel this restaurant has to offer. We came downtown from Bolingbrook about an hour away to spend most of our evening here and then check out the other bars in the area later in the evening. At the very beginning of the night the waitress bringing our food spilled my plate right on top of me. Red sauce all over my white pants. Completely covering the top and seeping through to the back. I tried to stay as nonchalant as possible. But my vibe was instantly killed. I was wet, dirty, and embarrassed, while having to sit in that throughout our entire dinner. And had to hold my jacket over my front area while getting up to go to the bathroom to hope no one noticed. Everyone noticed. It was terrible and embarrassing and I felt like the entire bar was looking at me as random people said “I have to see how bad it was.” As I walked to the bathroom. The manager offered to reimburse my dry cleaning and take our first round of drinks off the dinner bill. I can’t believe they felt comfortable giving me a bill at all. My night was ruined. Food and music was really good. Overall experience... Not so much.

We really loved the food here. Had the brisket and Nashville fried chicken and they were delicious. Love the Cole slaw too, very unique. We visited during March madness and it was a super place to catch a game. Great food and great service, my only wish was for a bigger selection of local beers. Totally recommend!

Have wanted to visit this restaurant for several years. So finally made it but was big disappointment because it is really a bar that serves bbq. My bad. This is not a kid friendly place as it has lots of foul language patrons talking loud. If you go, do not accept any pub type tables near the bar as they cram you in and it is difficult to have room to eat. We ordered the famous spare ribs and baby backs which are served with a rub and little or no sauce baked on. You get to pour it on cold like ketchup. I don't like this practice for my ribs but am sure many people like it that way. Flavor was just Ok . The wait staff was very good and friendly. But we waited for some time for a table even with rsv and when we got the text our table was ready , the hostess looked confused and quickly put us at any old table she saw. It was by the bar unfortunately. Won't go back but can cross this off my list . Been eating ribs for many years but this place does not make the cut.

My wife and I tried this place for the first time and were very impressed. We made a reservation luckily, otherwise there is no way we were getting a seat. This place was PACKED! from the very moment we got there until the time we left it was shoulder to shoulder with a line out the door. Must be good right?! IT WAS! We only ordered appetizers but they were both amazing!! We shared the buffalo bites and loaded fires and they were both ate in their entirety. I tried a delicious whiskey at the recommendation of a man name Brad who I will get back to shortly. We didn't stay long enough to see the band but we weren't in a very ideal seating location for that either way. We were seated in a very high traffic spot so we were constantly being bumped or talked over by other patrons. That aside we had a wonderful time here and will absolutely return to try more of their delicious food and whiskey. Ok back to Brad, I presume he was a manager of sorts. He was so unbelievably helpful, and welcoming. He more or less acted as our server too, ours was mostly non-existant. He spoke to us in length about the menu and gave me an incredible bourbon recommendation. He touched our table several times throughout our visit and before we could leave he left us with several gift cards so that we would return. He apologized for our seating location and thanked us for coming. This really stood out to us. We did not complain once, even to each other, about a single thing. We were really enjoying ourselves and those things were just background noise to us. So thank you Brad G for your incredible hospitality. We will without a doubt return and I intend to suggest Bub City to all of my friends.
