Great ribs but service a bit slow for not being so busy. Couldn’t decide on a beer so server referred us to the manager as she wasn’t very knowledgeable so when the manager took over, it was a very big help. We appreciated her referral
Constant loud country twang music in the middle of an urban restaurant. Didn't expect that. Reservation for 3:30pm. Not seated until 20 mins later.
I saw a feature about the Thanksgiving special on tv and decided to check it out. Food was really good except the side dishes were warm but not hot. Service was outstanding which includes hostess servers busboys etc. Value was great!. I'll be back. Restrooms were nice and clean but down stairs. Dont wait till last minute!
Our first visit was for their Thanksgiving Day feast. It was a little crowded and noisy, but the staff was very attentive and upbeat and the restaurant was brightly decorated for the holiday season. We enjoyed the turkey, bbq, pie and unlimited sides.
Great way for us to spend Thanksgiving. No clean up and our server was awesome. Well done.
Smoke turkey was outstanding! Great vibe. It was our second Thanksgiving here. Since last year they improved a lot the buffet menu.
The food was good and the band was great!!
Food was dry and the service sucked
Music at 1:00 was way too loud! Live band and I felt like it was 11:00pm music volume. We couldn’t even talk when leaning into the middle of the table. Terrible volume! Probably won’t return to this location because of this.
Great food, fantastic environment! I would warn people that the live music on Sundays does get above a conversation level.
Very loud and energetic on a Saturday evening.... the band was awesome...great lead guitar!!
Great food, service, and atmosphere! Good for all occasions!
Food was fantastic!! Waitress was amazing, totally took care of me. Explained drink specials and items on my plate. Really helpful. Made me feel at home! $5 old fashioned on Friday. Yum.
great food, great atmosphere, loved the drinks too. will def be back again!
Wednesday fried chicken night was amazing! The wings, fried chicken, and tenders were all delicious, and a solid value
I’ve always loved Bub city, and have been there several times. The service is always great but this past time our server was not great. He didn’t check on us much and took a long time to bring us our check.
The service was wonderful, love the music and bloody mary bar
We went for Saturday brunch and really enjoyed it. Tons of food/large portions so go hungry!
Staff was VERY accommodating in finding us a more comfortable table on a busy Friday night. (I'm a big guy. Booths don't work!) Wait-crew were friendly and attentive. Everyone in our group seemed happy with their meal selections. Only issue was volume. Happy crowd plus accompanying background music made table conversation difficult for our party of six. Maybe a good thing! Be back soon. I mean... "BE BACK SOON!!!"
Food was great; service was outstanding. Music is too loud to have a conversation; it would be OK if it was a bar but this is more of a restaurant than a place to go for a drink.
Love the Bloody Mary bar. The menu is reasonably priced and the portions are larger than you would expect.
Awesome music venue and good food loved this place for a country concert
Four of us went for dinner on a Saturday night before going to a show. Had a reservation and were seated right away. It is loud, so if you have a soft voice, be prepared to step it up a notch or two. Service was good, but a little slow, but considering it was full, very acceptable. One of us had the combo platter and the other two ordered individual sandwiches. Prices were river North, so OK. Not much of a wine selection, but we don't go for BBQ for the wine!
All of our food was very good, except for the brussel sprouts. on our platter. They were baked and we couldn't finish them. would go back
Quality of food and level of service were both above expectations. A little pricy, but good value (quantity, quality) for your money. Adult beverages were also quite good...made to order and very refreshing!
Amazing customer service. They messed up on one of our orders but they have gave us so much more food to make up for it. Excellent managers and waitresses. Wings were incredible!
Bub City is by all means, my definition of a honky-tonk. However, as defined by Google, it’s a cheap or disreputable bar, club, or dance hall, typically where country music is played. Well, Bub City ain’t cheap or disreputable, but country music is played and it’s played well! The BBQ is pretty good, too!
A group of us got together to celebrate my birthday. We had great food and conversation!
Love this place! Great food and great service!
Usually good food, the green Chile scramble is literally disgusting and I definitely wouldn’t order again. You can’t go wrong with chicken here so I’ll go back to my old fave next time.
It was some of the best BBQ I've had and that is including when I lived in Dallas.
I've been here once before for a live performance and this was my first time dining in. I honestly did not know they had a full menu. It was definitely worth the return. The entire staff not just our server were overly friendly and courteous. I ordered a half rack and they easily fell off the ribs. Their sauces were amazing and their Texas toast was mediocre nothing to special about it. We also learned they offer whiskey flights so we will definitely bring our whiskey-lover friends in.
Some of the best food I’ve ever had. The waiter was educated on the food , nice, attentive and did everything with a smile. The live music was a wonderful bonus. I would eat here all the time if I lived in Chicago. A must stop when in the area.
Love Bub city! The food is so tasty and we always have impeccable service! The Choose Two meat meal is perfect for sharing!
Great vibes at Bub City
Waitress was amazing. Took large group of customers for fun night out. Bub city is a regular visit when I come to Chicago. Highly recommended it!
The food is really good, especially if you had a few drinks the night before. We were there for Sunday brunch and it was crowded and a little noisy - no problem for us, but they have live music and talking at the table can be a little hard. The music was pretty good too, if your a country music fan.
A wonderful evening and got to sit outside. We had the two meat platter and two sides. Wonderful.
The biscuits and the cinnamon buns were delicious. I liked my cocktail which was the lawbreaker but my friend's sangria was terrible. The fried chicken sandwich was ok. very basic nothing else on it other than coleslaw. I would go and stick with breakfast options if I went again.
We had a great server who added a lot to our experience.
