B's Bistro - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
We found this place through open table, looking for a restaurant near the lefont Sandy springs movie theatre. It was not crowded at all when we arrived at 7:15 on a Friday night. The staff was attentive and the food was beautifully plated and delicious! We'll be back-
The place was empty except two tables of elderly retirees (not that there's anything wrong with that). Food was mediocre. Not bad, but certainly not notable. If you're in a hurry, it might be a good spot. Otherwise, way too many better options nearby.
Service was okay. Server pleasant and helpful.
We chose B's Bistro because it was a mid-way point for meeting friends. I must say that it was a great choice! Great atmosphere, great food and great service. The staff was very friendly and the owner even came over to make sure all was well. Definitely a place we'll visit again!
We had the opportunity to have dinner on a Saturday. Nice decor, pleasant wait staff.
We had the Mussels in Wine sauce as an appetiser. Mussels were tasty, wine sauce was uninspired. Plain bread was offered-nothing exciting there. I had the bone-in brined pork chop while my wife had the shrimp plate. The pork chop was nicely flavored, but overcooked. I asked for any green vegetable instead of carrots and potatoes, but got carrots anyway and they were fine. My wife's shimp were large and plump and not overcooked. The hush-puppy was good as was the cole-slaw. Wine was a very good value and they had a decent selection. I noted a full bar, but did not order drinks or dessert.
I travel for a living and eat out alot. I would come back. I would rate this visit about a 6 out of 10. Not a brilliant meal but has promise.
We arrived timely for our reservation. Took us 15 minutes to see a waiter-we hadn't even seen one in our area. Took us another 15 minutes to get drinks (I don't think there was a designated bartender). We decided to call it quits at the point. For the prices, we wanted to also have a nice dining experience. Hopefully, they will hire more staff as we went on a Saturday night.
I have been to B's Bistro a few times now with my best friend and with my husband. It is helpful that it is close to Lefont Theater on movie nights. We really like the design of the restaurant and I particularly like the food. The one negative thing for us is that the owner, who is usually running around, never looks to acknowledge that we are there. It would be nice to at least get a smile and to ask if we are having a good experience. My friend and my husband both think that the menu is more limited than they would like.
B's Bistro is hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Sandy Springs. It's unlikely that you'd stumble upon it. It is very pretty inside. Making a lunch reservation on OT, I arrived to find a sign that they were closed because their cash register was down. Now, they had both my email address and phone number but didn't bother to use either one to alert me ahead of time. I didn't have my colleague's number to call her so I waited outside for her to arrive. In the cold. However, an employee had walked outside and I inquired about the situation and she stated that if I had cash, they'd accept it.
I did have cash, so I'm glad that worked out. It really is beautiful inside with dark wood and well appointed booths. We both got the 50/50 lunch special. Half soup / salad or sandwich. And these are quality items like Arugula with Sun Dried Tomato and Curried Chicken Salad. Although mine was good, the portions are on the small side. Usually a restaurant lunch leaves me so full, I have a snack for dinner. In this case, I was hungry again at 5 pm. We just drank water and I spent $25 with tip for lunch. To me, this is way overpriced for the small portion of food.
We took out of town guests here for Christmas Eve dinner and everyone loved it. There was something for everyone. The ambiance was relaxed. The food was high quality and well prepared. One guest said they had the best pork chop they had ever eaten in their life. The service was attentive. This was the next best thing to cooking a holiday meal at home. Highly recommended.
It's not fair to pick on the young, inexperienced waiter who was earnestly trying to do a good job and carefully record the order but just didn't seem to get it. The more senior waiter came over took the entire order again. And then came back again to confirm, after we had already been there almost an hour. We went to complain to the owner, who didn't seem to care. Food finally arrived, exactly as ordered, hot and delicious. Owner eventually came to the table, but didn't really apologize for the experience, rather chose to be defend her staff and minimize how long we had waited. Most other places would have offered to comp a drink, a dessert, or something but not here.
Excellent first time dining experience at B's..!! Service was warm and friendly, and the food matched thankfully. Girlfriend had the salmon risotto which had an incredible flavor, and my ragout was also very tender and tasty. Mussels appetizer was also great with the white wine sauce happily being soaked up with the bread basket. Will be back soon!
The service was friendly but could not compensate for average food at best that was overpriced. We went for the Thanksgiving dinner "four course dinner" as promoted on OpenTable. After we arrived I was informed that the price had changed and they would not honor the price as quoted on OpenTable. That gave me a bad taste but I was assured the food was "high quality and made from scratch". Scratch obviously took the day off as the squash soup was awful.....doused with sweetener(sugar?)and the bread was cold and stale...we were later advised it came from Costco! The main course would have been acceptable if it were hot!
Salad and the desert were the only good courses but portions were meager. After all this I was presented with a check that was incorrect....overcharged by $24....upon my protest it was corrected.....I couldn't wait to pay the bill and leave.
B's Bistro is a lovely place to get a quiet, nice dinner. It's not super fancy but it's not a sports bar either. This kind of cozy neighborhood place with really good food and service is rather hard to find in Sandy Springs. The owners and wait staff are so nice and welcoming. The food is really good, and there is a wide variety of dishes on the menu. (Flatbreads are fantastic.) Also, it's not a "scene" and doesn't require making a reservation way in advance. The ambience is warm and comfortable.
Our first time there. The place is not only in a very non-descript strip mall, but the space itself is rather non-descript. Not offensive, but dull browns/coppers and hodgepodge finishes. Not refined or memorable in the least. The food was average at best. A solid 'C.' Service was fine. An 'A-." Prices okay if slightly above what they should be. Portions generous. Nothing wrong there, but we would rather have better-prepared food and less of it. Fish did not seem fresh, and it was overcooked if not mushy. Left an odd taste in my mouth. Sorry to say, this place does nothing wrong but nothing right. Not a place to think of going back, but if someone insisted on going, I would agree.
