Bryant Park Grill Ratings and Reviews
Had dinner for 4 prior to Radio City Music Hall. The overall experience and especially the food quality far exceeded our expectations. Would not miss an opportunity to dine there again. Menu choices were excellent with nice options for fish, seafood, beef, and pasta dishes. All four persons at our table went away impressed
We enjoyed a lovely Sunday brunch at Bryant Park Grill. My friend has Eggs Benedict and I had scrambled eggs with three different suasages and we shared the bread basket with 4 different pastries. Our server was friendly and attentive. Definitely make reservations. Our reservations were at 11:30 when the restaurant opened and by the time we left, it was packed. We sat in the enclosed patio and enjoyed the Christmas decorations and a view of the park. Also, it was much quieter than the other side of the restaurant. I'll look forward to returning to this spot next time I get a chance.
Great service and equally good food from a wide selection. We had the Moroccan chicken (less North African spice, more lemon) the kalimari and the squid + black ink risotto. The latter of which was fantastic. Good choice of ale / beer on draft and bottle and good wine too. Beautiful setting for a romantic evening by the Bryant Park skate rink.
Service was good. The wait staff brought the wrong food to the table. The ribeyes were very tough and served cold. The truffle frites were also served cold. We are from the south so maybe New Yorkers just like their steak cold. Would have been a nice view if we were close to a window. Prices seemed reasonable for the portions but not for the overall food flavor. The desserts we ordered were good, though. Overall a disappointing experience. We will definitely try another restaurant next time we are in town.
We called for early reservation at 5:30pm and were told the earliest opening was at 6:15...arrived at 5:45 and were seated immediately. Window table overlooking crowded Bryant Park, gorgeous. After our drinks arrived we ordered, I chose the charred pork chops. Remarkably soon, our entrees arrived. My plate looked delicious, sweet mashed potato, cauliflower, a side of asparagus and chops with great grill marks. I tasted the potato first and it was deliciously sweet, but only slightly warm. Next, the cauliflower, a little mushy, seasoned with cinnamon but cool. I attacked the chop with the butter knife but couldn't cut it. When the waiter passed buy to ask if we liked the meal I asked for a warm-up and steak knife. Hot and carve-able the dinner was delicious.
Love this place for the view and decor. Food was great, except the decaf coffee (which was pricey) had clearly been sitting too long and tasted burnt. Service was a bit inattentive. I do not understand why this restaurant serves cold bread. The butter which is very hard does not melt. Hot bread would be so much better, especially on a cold day!
It's hard to beat the location of this restaurant, tucked away in the park behind the New York Public Library. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The service was pleasant and attentive. The prices were typical for lunch at any decent Manhattan restaurant.
This is our annual tradition - the Holiday Fair at Bryant Park and the Bryant Park Grill for lunch. The food is very good as is the service. I had the Bronzino special - it was very good. Actually, everyone enjoyed their appetizers and meals. Lovely place to go at any time, but especially around Christmas.
The food was excellent, we had the Wild Mushroom Ravioli and the Pan Roasted Bronzino, both were excellent. The Ravioli was in a broth like sauce, not cream based so it was light and refreshing, and the Bronzino was cooked to perfection - a little crisp on the edges on a bed spaghetti squash - amazing!
I hosted a business/reunion get-together lunch, and could not have been happier with the location of the restaurant, the table assigned to us which was at the back of the restaurant, a bit out of the way from the main dining room which was nice as it was almost as if we had our own room. The lunch menu selection was excellent; there was something for everyone! Our server, Jessi, was attentive, professional, cheerful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the Bryant Park Grill for a business or friend get-together and look forward to returning soon!
Had a business meeting and a party of 6 and hadn't dined inside at BPG for a long time. It's a very beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location and the food was still excellent (we had the salmon, various salads and the burger) but the tables are very close together and the acoustics are terrible -- it was very, very loud and very difficult to hear anyone other than the person closest to you. Our server was nice and the service was moderate - although hampered by the very tight tables. The food came quickly. Birds do fly overhead even inside, but there was no accident in our case.
It was our first experience and it was a very pleasant and tasty. I had not expected such a large space to be cozy but it was and the welcome was friendly and efficient. One had the imoression that we were expected, a nice feeling. Our table was well located away from th entrance on a "banquette". The Calamars were excellent and with the before dinner drinks the crab cake delicious. Portions were substantial! The champagne was not very fizzy but the glass was generously filled and the rose was good. For our main courses we ordered Raviolis with Mushrooms and Braised Beef with couscous. Every dish came with enough greens or vegetables: this not only gives the plates more color but definitely a healthier and elegant look. Not of sweet tooth, we skipped desserts. It was a very pleasant dining experience to be renewed when in that neighborhood, busy ,yet quiet at the GRILL.
Always excellent service and food. Holiday time is especially nice as you are overlooking the skating rink and holiday market. Great for lunch, and drinks. For business meetings, it can be a little noisy, but once the lunch crowd thins out, it's fine. Make a reservation ahead of time, the restaurant is often booked for private parties.
I had pork belly sliders which were okay. My SO had a salad that was good but the lemon chicken entree was subpar 80s style food. Chicken pounded out served with mushy, oily fries and a couple of lemon slices on top. Prices were not bad but not good for that chicken plate. Waiter was good but service from the kitchen was hysterically bad. Stone faced man brusquely offered one word (Pepper?) and was not personable or approachable. Ambiance was great - atrium in Bryant park I just wish it felt more cozy than a wedding reception set up. Wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend unless you miss 80s style plates of food and flavor (as in minimal flavor)
Bryant Park grill is a pretty standard restaurant for the several block radius around GCT: standard food, standard service, slightly above standard atmosphere, standard high prices. The service is always a bit disappointing -- never as graceful or sophisticated as the scene. But it's a solid business lunch bet, and it's a great location if the weather permits a short stroll around Bryant Park after. Don't rush to go but don't shy away if you need a basic, nice meal in that area.
