Had a table ready for us for our reserved time. The waitress was very polite and food timing was perfect. Great ambiance and had a great time. Definitely will make a trip back soon

The menu is extensive yet it doesn't feel like a jumble of random items. The entrees (salmon and scallops) were perfectly done and wonderful. The wine list is great, and the suggested wine was perfect for what we ordered. The brie appetizer with cranberry reduction and pear slice was outstanding. The service was flawless. The atmosphere is fantastic and it the noise level was very low - it was very easy to hold a conversation.

Excellent food and service. I had the chicken piccata, which was perfectly cooked and had a very tasty sauce. Our server, Ben, provided great service, and the restaurant layout and décor was very nice (we ate dinner there). Good selection of wines.

This place rocks - always great food and atmosphere. You can’t go wrong just going off the daily specials and leaving the menu behind!

Food was fabulous! We had a newer waiter so service could have been a little better but by no means bad. Will definitely be going back! Great find!

Very pleasantly surprised on the first visit to this restaurant, which was previously unknown to me. The interior is attractive and welcoming; the food was beautifully presented and excellent (my guest and I both chose salads, with a resigned nod toward making healthy post-holiday choices), and the check was certainly not unreasonable, although the price was possibly just a little higher than might be the case at competing enterprises.

I will definitely try BRX American Bistro for dinner and/or brunch sometime soon, just to get a sense of its approach to food other than salads ... although certainly my own salad was far tastier than anyone has a right to expect from kale, quinoa, squash, and chickpeas. (Very nice job, and thank you, Chef.)

9 for brunch, we were the only people in the restaurant for the first 30 minutes. 6 people had their orders brought out, a seventh arrived wrong, the eight 5 minutes later, and the last 2 orders (one that was originally wrong) took and additional almost 10 minutes. The food was all good, but it was really unfortunate that most at the table had almost finished eating by the time the last 2 were served. No apologies or anything removed from the bill (a number of extra mimosas were ordered while waiting for orders). Only two other tables were dining when we left.

Weird place. Friendly but really uneven service. Shoehorned our party of five into a bar booth (with somebody having to sit in a high boy bar chair near the kitchen entrance) even though we had an advance reservation. Literally wiped dust off a drink menu and handed it to us. Specials listed as one thing but came out as something else. Food was marginal at best. Will not return.

We arrived to a noisy crowded reception in the main dining room and were ushered to a confined area behind a curtain. We were entertaining out-of-town guests but could hardly hear each other talk. Very bad environment in which to dine. The manager offered us free drinks. Nice, but will be careful in the future when we dine there.

This was our first visit to BRX. WE each had the soup and 1/2 sandwich luncheon special. The clam chowder was quite hot (temperature-wise, not spicy) but a bit too thick with cornstarch. Our ham and fontina sandwiches on a baguette was excellent. For dessert one of us had the miniature pecan pie (cleverly presented in a small martini glass) and my guest had the pistachio ice cream. The booths by the window let you view the lovely outdoor seating area. In nice weather, that would be the place to dine! The service is quite leisurely, so if you are in a time crunch, be certain to tell your server. Also, the lunch special does not explain that only three of the listed sandwiches are available as the 1/2 sandwich option. We would return if we lived in the area (Great Falls/McLean) but since we drove over 45 minutes to test this out, we would probably not return.

Consistently superior in service, cuisine, wine & ambience. Owner Ashwani know how to run a restaurant. Marco is a top-notch bartender/server who always makes us feel welcomed. We highly recommend Brx!

This was a fave restaurant but the last couple visits have underwhelmed. The food is just eh (in fact the mahi mahi special i had recently had no taste) and the service was down right bad. too bad, lovely restaurant.
UPDATE - I received a call from this restaurant very soon after I posted this review. They were extremely interested in hearing details of my experience and were very knowledgeable on the specials i was describing and the particular evening in question. They explained a few things that might have impacted our dining experience and were very apologetic but more than anything, seemed genuinely concerned and eager to hear what I had to say to make improvements. I will certainly give them another chance!

The portions are small but the food was tasty! The dessert had more food on the plate than the entree by almost double.

The hostess was in a little over her head. The walk from outback to the front is long and she had to hustle and wasn't comfortable with that. She called us after checking us in to see if we were still coming for our reservation.

There was a ruckus group of ladies on their moms night out and echoed into the whole restaurant, that made having a quiet dinner impossible.

The price was high given the portions and not terribly blown away by the food enough to return.

Service was really great!

Our Sunday lunch was very nice. We had a table by the window overlooking the outdoor eating area; the table was a good size for three people - no shuffling of glasses and condiments for more room. The service was prompt and efficient; waiter kept an eye on us without interfering with the meal. The ambience is OK - large, wood-floored dining room and adjacent bar might be noisy with a bigger crowd. All in all, we loved it and would not hesitate to go back.

BRX is a great little spot--especially if you're on the road to Wolf Trap and want to avoid the clutter of Tysons. We had the Lasagna special--very good and the Blackened Salmon Sandwich--also good! Good beer list and great service--I would go here any time before heading to Wolf Trap for a performance.
