Bruno's Italian Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Dinner with friends, all 4 meals were excellent. The minestrone soup, which came with the entree, you can have a nice salad if you wish, was very good. So much food that we all took 1/2 Home for another meal and could not have dessert. Great specials every night, esp. if you like fish.
We have had the pleasure of dining at Bruno's numerous times with friends. It's a quiet casual venue. The food is always delicious with nightly special creations that I look forward to. The service is very good, though occasionally rushed. Someday I will try a dessert, usually too full to even consider that after one of their meals.
Bruno's is our Go-To Italian restaurant. We've been back on the mainland for four weeks and we'e been to Bruno's three times. We dine here as a couple and it's also become a favorite with our family and friends, who have dined here with us, as well.
Evan is a gem. He doesn't write orders down because he has an impeccable memory!
This restaurant is a delight!
Being from New Jersey, I have a high expection for Italian food. Bruno's is not great Italian food. I had spaghetti and meatballs because I always like to try the pasta. Sorry to say the meal was tasteless. The red sauce needed salt and was in general bland. The meatballs were poor.
Our experience at Bruno's is always superb and overtly delectable. This is the fifth time I've arranged for a dinner with friends and family in which we were all wholly satisfied and in adoration for the food, service and drinks at Bruno's. Such consistency and quality. I couldn't help but to order the veal saltimbocca, a personal favorite and rock star recipe on the menu. Also at the table: osso buco, the chicken parm special, spaghetti and meatballs, and the fettuccine. We were all able to try each other's dishes and they were all 10/10 Would try again. We all did cocktails such as the Italian margarita, enjoyed the sangiovese, and ordered a couple bottles of the sparkles, which I believe was a prosecco. It was a nice, drinkable brut. Overall our dining experience was fine and all of my guests and I are happy to return the next time we're in Denver. I have all my friends and family converted to this place; we will literally drive 596 miles to enjoy this CLASSIC Italian cooking at Bruno's. I truly love the intimate, quiet, cozy ambience. I love how this gem is tucked away in a strip mall next to the dollar store. It is so low key yet just the classiest and absolutely the tastiest. The service is seasoned and they will take good care of you.
The quality of food preparation was very poor. The filet mignon served was actually sliced in half horizontally so that, according to the waiter, the "chef" could tell whether it was cooked medium-rare as requested. The ravioli was pasty and smothered in a salty sauce. The only good news about the meal was the house salad that contained reasonably fresh greens.
Fantastic restaurant... not very large, so it lends itself to a quiet, familial atmosphere. Food exceptional--the salads were crisp and cold using the freshest blend of lettuces, and not drowning is dressing. Appetizer and entrees are authentic, and freshly prepared (we heard the chefs pounding the veal in the kitchen). Wait staff both knowledgeable and attentive. This restaurant will become a regular or ours. Highly recommend it!
Waitperson was very good-tried to take our antipasto plate too soon
Chiapino was good, but not the best I have had. Sauce too much like thin spaghetti sauce. Need more to eat-needs some simple white fish.
Sea Bass had too many potatos-looks American, not Italian
I really wanted to like it, but... Started off ordering drinks - apparently the server was the "bartender" and did not know how to make an Old Fashioned (basic bartentending 101), nor did he know how to make an espresso-tini (which was on their drink menu). Bread was dry, borderline stale. Entrees came out very fast - too fast to have been cooked fresh. My wife had chicken parm - very thin cutlet, no seasoning, sauce was ok. Pasta on the side came with a pesto sauce, also just ok. I had "lasagna" the likes of which I've never seen before. It came on a plate looking like something out of a can - it was clearly not layered and baked, it was simply a pile of ingredients. Flavor was marginal. Bottom line - drinks were bad, food was bad, servers genuinely seemed like they were trying.
