About Bruce Wine Bar
Don’t let the name fool you, this unique eatery boasts more than just a wine list distinguished by a Wine Spectator award.
Designated a Feast Ontario restaurant for its’ commitment to sustainable and organic regional fare, Bruce also serves up the best wood-fired Neapolitan style pizza north of the GTA. Add an impressive roster of independent Canadian musicians playing Fridays and you’ve got the vibe!
A funky eclectic design houses 25 cozy seats surrounding the open kitchen and another 40 in a loft-inspired space which includes a communal harvest table.
Once a tiny wine bar serving small plates three nights/week, Bruce has come into its’ own as a full-scale restaurant offering seasonally focused lunch, dinner and take-away menus daily, as well as catering for private parties and large events.

Bruce Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Visited with a vegan friend who raved about the veggie pizza (minus the cheese). I had the braised beef pizza special and we both rolled out of there (we REALLY didn't need to eat the last couple of pieces, but couldn't help it) absolutely delighted. Would definitely return!
The food was exceptional as usual but tonight the atmosphere just didn't measure up.
Our server seemed a bit disinterested.
We make make a point of getting a table at the Bruce whenever we are in town because we love it so much, but were quite disappointed this time unfortunately.
You were sat beside a long table of kids playing musical chairs… At a wine bar?
It was a dark and stormy night. Very dark. In fact all of Thornbury was dark what with the power lines down. However the host said our reservation could be transferred to their other restaurant in Collingwood called the Crow, and we got a discount. So we went. Two bands were playing at the crow that night, both the Bruce wine bar band and the Crow band. It was a good show. The food was very good, amazing presentation. My only criticism is the Crow layout; when you are watching the band immediately to the left is the service counter with the bright kitchen lighting. We will go back.
VISITING BLUE MOUNTAIN RESORT FOR FIRST TIME WITH MY WIFE. FRONT DESK AT THE WESTIN TRILLIUM RECOMMEND BRUCE WINE BAR . NOT DISAPPOINTED. PIZZA THIN AND CRISPY WITH HOT SPICEY OLIVES AS A SIDE DISH JUST PERFECT. FRIENDLY STAFF. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR RELAXING LOW KEY NIGHT OUT.
The food was excellent as always and the service exemplary despite a minor mix-up that slightly delayed dessert. No hardship due to the exellence of the food and the pleasant surroundings. My wife loves the downstairs tables as we can see the kitchen and in particular the wood-fired oven.
We enjoyed the food, the wine and the service. The ambience on the Friday evening we were there was non existent. With a space such a yours, filled to capacity, with live music, seating a party of 2 at a table with 4 other parties of two makes for a solo dining experience. I did ask if we could be seated together(on one side) but that would mess up(my words)the usual seating arrangement .... perhaps a consideration?! We will be back, probably on a Thursday!
I will drive any distance to savour those phenomenal pizzas!
PLEASE allow those of us who dine at lunch to sit downstairs where it's cozy and thoroughly entertaining to watch food being prepared.
Upstairs is very chilly (air conditioning) and lacks the ambience of downstairs.
Even thought there was a limited menu due to an off-site special event we once again thoroughly enjoyed dining at the Bruce. Service was a bit slower than usual - I suspect for the same reason. The food was consistently excellent. But it was the little touches that really sets them apart - such as the Riesling jelly with the cheese board.
From start to finish the service, food and overall experience was amazing. Everything was spot on. If you are looking for a unique dining experience where the food is out of this world-the drive from wherever you are right now to Thornbury is so worth it. I can't wait to go back. PS. The pizza is WOW just WOW.
Service was great, wine selection good. Food value also good. We enjoy the caesar salad.
We ordered the house pizza with mushroom, cream sauce etc really no mushrooms and very little sauce quite disappointed. Several of our friends ordered the pepperoni pizza which they really enjoyed.
Had a wonderful dinner with my wife, son and mother-in-law. My tartar was phenomenal then I had the pork rib...killer. Plating, flavour and culinary technique were the triple threat. Had a solid IPA to wash it down. We also had the Caesar salad, gnocchi and pizzas and all were very well received. Service was polite, friendly, efficient and swift. We will be back for sure. I am a very big believer in a Slow Food philosophy and they certainly nail that here. Well done!!
We had never been to Bruce Street Wine Bar but have heard nothing but good reviews about the place. We made a reservation on-line. When we arrived we were seated in the middle of a communal table, some people may like this style of dining, we however do not. We politely asked if there was a different table we could sit at. Our server kindly checked for us, but unfortunately they were fully booked. We chose to leave, as it was not the sort of dining experience we wanted. I am not sure if we did not explore their website enough but it would have been nice to understand that when we made the reservation we would be seated at a communal table. We will try again, but this time we will assure ahead of time where we will be seated.
