After making a reservation one week in advance for two couples (Open Table), I called the day before to request a table away from the extremely noisy area around the bar, I spoke with xxxxx who assured me she would save a table for us, and that she would be working. When we arrived she informed me she had forgot and only had one table left...next to the bar. We spent the entire meal trying to hold a conversation above the deafening noise. It was a horrible experience! If it hadn't been a Saturday evening (and no other restaurant to go to), we would have walked out.

Service was horrendous. We had a reservation and were seated by the hostess - and then waited for 20 minutes without anyone coming to our table - no water, nothing. When we finally got a server’s attention, she took another 5 minutes to come take our order for drinks or food. While we were sitting there for 25 minutes we noticed that no tables had food, several tables were unsuccessfully trying to get their server’s attention, and one table asked for the manager with what seemed like some angry complaints. I don’t usually review restaurants, but this experience was terrible and no one working in the restaurant, including management, seemed to care. The food was good when we finally received it, however we got the wrong food the first time and had to ask for silverware and napkins. We will not go back.

We had a table for 8 to celebrate a birthday at BRU. Everything was good except for the service. The waitress took 10 mins to come by the table initially and it went downhill from there. We had to wait another 30 mins for her to come back for food orders. Food came out in a reasonable time, but we were missing the birthday girl’s dinner. The waitress did not come back to check on us until she brought the check. I had to go up and tell her at the kitchen that the dinner was missing. 😥 She did apologize and comp us for it but, it was a disappointing experience.

Smash Burgers were a hit, but the schnitzel and spätzle were just ok and pretty greasy. Our waitress was very nice, but hard to find when we needed her. A great place for young people, it was very loud inside and the bar scene looked fun if you were in your 20s or early 30s.

The atmosphere at the restaurant was very upbeat and energetic. I highly recommend the smash burger. It was a huge hit at our table along with the order of wings we got as well! Service was top notch!

So loud we couldn’t hear each other talk. Was sat outside even though I had a reservation inside but honestly would have been even louder inside. No service for about 20 min after we sat down and went down hill from there. Food was good but the service and atmosphere was awlful

Outdoor dining was nice, they do a great job of keeping the area excluded from the busy walkway of center city. Food was good, drinks were different from the normal but not very strong. We will go there again

The food was quite good but the service was awful. We never had someone who waited on our table. They just asked us what we wanted and said they would tell our waiter who never turned up. At the end of the night, we received our bill from the only person who ever interacted with us and it was incorrect. The music was so loud and incongruent w a German Restaurant. The website said all patrons had to wear masks, but no one working there was wearing one. Or was wearing them around their chin.

Great basic food and drink options in a very loud and lively setting. My wife said that it was the best hamburger that she has had in a while. All other menu items were very good. Only negative was being seated by the wait staff work station, in spite of having a reservation. Also, if you want to talk without having to raise your voice or yell, probably not a good option for a date or dining on a Saturday night. Value was good for the high quality of food served. Service could use some improvement. Seemed like both staff and clientele were relatively young (think college age)…

BRU was an excellent spot for great German fare and beer. We got the schnitzel and the wurst. I really liked the wurst, but the schnitzel could have had a little more meat. All in all, a great time.

My boyfriend and I cannot get enough of the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and the cheese curds. We’ve both said it’s the best chicken sandwich we’ve ever had, and we’ve tried a lot of them. The drinks are also great as well and the prices are not crazy. Definitely our go to restaurant when we want to indulge.

Good music, great service . What blew us away was the food. Monster burgers, Amazing wings and pretzel. We tweaked the Grilled cheese with bacon . Amazing !!! Good beer and mixed drinks . Mixed drinks are a little pricey . I can’t wait to go back . Big winner

The wait staff was great but otherwise the food was subpar, it was extremely loud and the drinks were not good. The location of the restaurant is fantastic but there are so many better places in the area to go to. The staff was very kind and welcoming but it didn’t compensate for the loud atmosphere and bad food.

Myself and boyfriend were kicked out right at 90 minutes halfway through a basketball game when no one else on the restaurant was being held to the same time limit. It was strictly because we wouldn’t make the waitress as much money as the larger groups. Completely rude when we planned ahead to watch a playoff game there and the city was to busy to watch the second half anywhere else.

It was a little loud, but weirdly enough I have missed that during the pandemic so I'm not holding it against them at all. The beer was amazing, the food was fresh and delicious (and my leftovers heated up well). Would definitely come here again!
