Came here on a date night with my wife. We were seated in a very dark corner where it was so dark you could barely read the menu. When we sat down, someone immediately brought us a crab cake. We were so surprised in the moment we couldn’t catch him to say it was a mistake. The food was pretty good but we didn’t feel like it was worth the $30 a plate price tag. I had the boar and my wife had the duck. We had the poutine for an appetizer. Everything was ok. Nothing was bad but nothing was good enough to bring us back.

Just finished Valentines 5 course meal. Different menu from their typical selections but food was still very good. The rack of lamb, roasted pear salad, chocolate cake, and steak tartare were good. We enjoyed excellent service by Adam. I suggest adding the wine course or sampling the unique selection of microbrews. Nice atmosphere with the harp player and red tablecloths. Only issue was the cheese course was clunky, a fondue might have worked better then 3 varieties of chunked cheese. Place was busy but service was very attentive with plates cleared quickly and water glasses kept full.

We visited the Brown Dog for a Sunday Brunch. We were immediately impressed the location and atmosphere, open views of the park. We were immediately greeted with a friendly smile, seated right away, and drinks delivered quickly to the table. The brunch choices were all tempting, and the four of us chose a wide variety. From a Spanish inspired Eggs Benedict, to a Poutine that was just delicious, a burger that was tasty, and a more traditional breakfast everything was well prepared, presented very well, and tasted fantastic. We highly recommend you try brunch at Brown Dog!

Went later in the evening after a show so things were winding down and there wasn't time to linger. It was my first time and I will definitely go back, the outdoor seating area looked like it would be great in nicer weather. The food was good but I was surprised there wasn't an item with chicken as the main protein, although they were happy to substitute for us. Lots of natural materials used in the decor such as wood and stone which created a very welcoming decor to me.

The food was really good. Our server (Alex, I think) was great. The artichoke appetizer was nice, as was the corn and crab chowder. The beet and goat cheese salad was very good. And one can never go wrong with poutine!

I hadn’t realized Brown Dog moved to a new location, so finding it at the backside of the new development was tricky at first but fine. I chose this restaurant because I was meeting a friend and wanted a more intimate feel. The new location does not have that. Our booth was small, just big enough for two which is fine, but on a busy aisle. It has high ceilings and lots of hard surfaces — it is much louder than before.

But again, the food and service are very good. I will likely be back but for different reasons and with different expectations. Still great overall.

My husband and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and dining experience. We really want to come back when it’s daylight to see everything that area has to offer. We live in Milan, Indiana and it was definitely worth the trip.

Consistently good food, good service, good drinks. The corner we were in was chilly - wish I had worn a sweater. There was a big screen TV on in the room they seated us in. I asked if it could be turned off and it was! A little pricey always, but we keep going back because it's always a good meal!

Dinner was an excellent experience overall. The menu was sufficiently diverse that everyone in family could find a favorite. The pork chops were so tender, I used a butter knife. Unique flavors showed-off the creativity of the kitchen. Portions were appropriate and everything was well-prepared and presented. The cocktails were generously prepared. The ambiance is ok, modern and clean, but not an intimate, romantic feel. I always love when the chef roams the dining to talk about the food! The development is also odd. The distant parking and the design/arrangement of buildings reminded me of a highway reststop. (It didn't help that you pull in from a 4-lane divided road to a barren field.) Go for the food and not for the view of playground equipment and acres of brown grass. Put this restaurant in OTR and you'd never get a table.
