The Brown Dog Cafe offers private seating for groups of up to 65 guests.
The finest meal north of downtown Cincinnati. Chef Sean and his talented culinary crew never disappoint. One word sums up our dining experience each and every visit:
As usual- yum.
Great service and lots of choices to appeal to a big group. Buffalo shrimp salad was great, and friends ordered venison hero and salmon burger which I would like to try another time. Think the servers name was Preston and he was excellent.
Food was great - service good - a little pricey for a hamburger but it was so good I got over it quickly! Very busy so it was a little loud.
Made reservations as we had tickets to the Cincinnati ballet. Service was very good. Manager came around to apologize for being out of the Valentine’s Day specials which was nice. I had the special stuffed flounder and mushroom risotto which was very well balanced though perhaps a bit underwhelming and bland. My wife had the duck which had very interesting flavors combined with the sweet potato and banana mash and charred vegetables. Highlight of the night was our appetizer. Poutine but with tater tots and barbacoa beef was amazing. Would like to come back and try more of the the unique menu. Worth a stop for a dinner night out!
Valentine’s Day dinner at the last minute
As to be expected the place was super busy and seating was super tight.
Food was good not great but still a great value for the fixed price menu. Their regular menu is superb but not available on V-Day
While not an “out of body” experience this time it is definitively a place I would return to for a date night drinks and dinner
Valentines day dinner was great. Menu had a nice variety and staff was awesome. I do not live in Blue Ash but I would come back again. Thank you for making mine and my girlfriend's night.
Great place for Valentine’s. Exquisite special menu, extremely knowledgeable and accommodating of my allergy! Second year in a row going here for Valentine’s and talk of making it tradition.
There seemed to be tables squeezed in for Valentine’s Day which took away from the experience. We really enjoy Brown Dog, but would not do it again for the holiday, the tables were on top of each other.
I had dinner with my wife on Valentine’s Day. Everything was very good: the food, the service, and the value. Ambiance was adequate. I recommend Brown Dog Cafe.
Celebrated Valentine’s dinner there and were blown away by the food, service, special treats and overall experience. We had bacon wrapped shrimp, fillet, and baked Alaska for dessert! Amazing. Can’t wait to go back and take friends!
Everything we tasted from the Valentine 3 course outstanding...as good as my 4 years in Paris! Norm, our waiter was attentive, professional and knowledgable. Jason, another waiter who accomodated us also very personable. The manager and staff all seemed happy to be working there, which makes for a pleasant ambience as well as the wonderful Jim Pelz trio. Our first visit, we'll be back.
Didn’t know what to expect, really great experience. Super nice Valentine’s Day dinner
Valentines Day dinner
A colleague and I sat at the bar with Joe tending. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and the bourbon selection. I had the Texas wild boar off his recommendation and couldn’t have been happier!
Your experience here can vary with what you order. Two of us ordered the boar, as we are game enthusiasts, but we were disappointed. The meat was underdone but the outside coating of adobo, coffee + cocoa crusted was burned making for an unpleasant flavor. The other two at our table had soup and salads and were very pleased with their choices. I spoke to the manager about the boar, but he said that's the way it was supposed to be. Perhaps. I didn't care for it but my husband thought it was ok like that. I've had other meals here that I enjoyed more and would rate 4-5 stars. For some reason I seem to prefer their Spring and Summer menus more than the Winter.
Fantastic food at a reasonable price!
The pot roast is to die for. We just love this place!
Absolutely fantastic meal! Our server, Sam, did an amazing job! We truly enjoyed our evening at Brown Dog!
great food, didn’t feel rushed at all. Sam was fabulous.
Had a great dinner with friends.food was great. Good service. Will be back.
Great spot for business lunch if you’re in the Blue Ash area.
Long wait and mediocre food
Wasn’t aware when I made the reservation that we would be sitting outside. Would not have accepted the reservation knowing that
Good Sunday Brunch. Good house salad and pizza. Mimosa and Bloody's were good.
Not many option for healthy meal
Salmon dish, Waldorf salad, bread, drinks, and key lime pie we’re all outstanding!
The restaurant has a 3 for $30 special that is very similar to Restaurant Week. It was difficult to make a decision, because all the entrees sound delicious. I will definitely return.
Great food. Great service.
The hostess who sat us was very rude. She wanted to seat us at a table right by a TV so I asked for a booth. She seemed put out and told us we could pick a booth without taking us there, which seemed rude and awkward.
The food was uneven. My crab cakes were good but my husband complained that his pot roast was tough. Our guests both had the salmon and said it was good. The mixed drinks is were good and the beer and wine selection was good. The desserts were excellent. We split the key lime pie and our guests split the Creme brûlée.
The atmosphere was more like a family restaurant which we weren’t expecting since we had been at the Brown Dog Cafe when it was a quiet more elegant restaurant. Not sure the price of our meal was consistent with the casual atmosphere.
Everything was fabulous! Each course was enjoyable and the portions were perfect. The food was delicious & we could hear each other easily. Thank you to all the staff (especially kitchen staff)!
New Years Eve. We appreciated the fact that Brown Dog owners created a menu that not only gave us choices but included vegetarian options, although my wife found both the appetizer and her dessert too spicy. Our server needed to be a bit more knowledgeable of the menu and more prompt with the wines that were selected, otherwise the meal was delightful.
Good menu and service
First time and very impressed. Our server Sam was outstanding and very attentive. The spinach salad was amazing and delicious. Plan to strongly recommend Brown Dog to others and return soon. A great experience. Thank you so much, especially Sam! Great job!
Very gd service and the food was very good. We also enjoyed the fact that it was not as crowded as we have experienced in the past.
Great food and service as usual!
We stopped for brunch on the way to the airport, as this restaurant was recommended by several friends in the area. We ordered chicken and waffles, breakfast poutine, and an omelette. The food was very good and hearty portions. The goetta gravy for the chicken and waffles was a nice add to the savory element of the meal. The poutine came topped with an egg and was enough to share.
The disappointment was the lack of service - our server was pretty much non-existent
Norm was our server and came over once every 25 minutes. I finally got up and told another server that we needed him to come back to take our order. He still didn’t get the hint and took another ten minutes to come back to our table. Drinks were okay and food was hot and tasty, but won’t be back due to the terrible service. Took over two hours for our entire dinner.
We were looking for a place to eat that offered healthy options. We had been here before and liked it. We were not disappointed this time either. I had the beyond burger and it was excellent. My wife also had a burger. We had fruit and a salad with the meal and shared both. We started with the humus plate with veggies instead of the pita shells and really enjoyed it. Afterwards we walked around the part and went up into the observatory. Overall a great time.
