Brown Butter Southern Kitchen & Bar
Great meal. Always enjoy the food at Brown Butter. We started off with the Brussels and the Crab Mac and Cheese which were excellent to share (both could easily feed 4 people). I had the Brunch Burger for my main dish. Absolutely phenomenal and the garlic fries that come on the side were just the icing on top. Consistently good food, great atmosphere and located right near all the action in Mid City New Orleans.
Everything was amazing. Our server was phenomenal.
We had a large party including 2 toddlers. It is never easy to serve a large party. Especially when toddlers are involved, we were moving around a lot and making noise. With that said, because we were such a large party we were seated by the bar and not bothering any other patrons. We got our food fairly quick after ordering. At times, our server seemed a little frustrated. We will return because the food was really good. Perhaps next time we will not come with such a large party. If it is a problem to accommodate large parties, the restaurant should say so.
The atmosphere was fine though we had a very loud rave by us while we dined, I know that’s not the norm. I knew I was there for a burger and it was what I expected. My sidekick had the chicken sandwich and it was cooked to perfection. Overall, not a thing wrong with this place and I would go back.
Great local spot. Fantastic food and great service, very casual with high quality. A true local's gem.
Interesting menu items. Flavorful and beautifully presented. Exceptional value for the serving size. Biscuits and corn bread with the flavored butters and orange marmalade are a must!
Food was great, service was attentive. Will definitely go back for brunch again!
Excellent,& great every time.
Great brunch food!
We went for brunch and the food was amazing! The bottomless mimosas was such a steal! The service was great! Our server recommended the crab Mac and cheese and it was so good! Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again shortly!
It was decent. I feel like it could be really great but is missing that special ingredient. Wine list is trash so don’t go there with that in mind. We had the Nola restaurant week menu plus a few starters. Mac and cheese is amazing (but how hard is that). The Brussels where delicious but everything else was fairly mediocre. Oh well. Try it out for your self.
Food was excellent. Will definitely return.
delish, good pricing food! reminds me of a texas style restaurant.
Our server was excellent. Had a great sense of humor. We had 4 different things off the menu and they were all great. Looking forward to going back to try other things on the menu!
We went for the applejack fritter and my daughter absolutely loved it!
Nice Brunch menu. Friendly staff.
Me, along with six of my wonderful friends, had brunch on Saturday. A couple of us had the bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's. we ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer, they were so delicious. Thin, crispy and so good.
Everyone ordered food we were able to try each other's orders, everything was absolutely delicious. would have liked to have seen some lunch items on the menu. Not everyone likes breakfast foods. Lauren, our server, was on point.
We did not like the food. Burger, poutine, desert all not that great, sorry. I did like the oyster salad.
I ordered the beet and feta dinner salad. Awful.
Hey Desiree, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us some feedback. Are you referring to our Fried Goat Cheese salad? I’m so sorry that you didn’t enjoy it. It’s been one of our staples since we opened the restaurant, almost 5 years ago. I’d love to get a little more information to see what we could have done better. Please feel free to get in touch any time. Simon Beck Brown Butter (504)390-1577
Perfect location for a date. It not being a big place made for a comfortable atmosphere, and noise wasn’t too bad.
The oyster toast was delicious. The burgers were very good. The quail dish on the coolinary not so much. Didn’t care for that dish at all. Everything else was good.
We went for Coolinary..wife had a version of shrimp and grits and was quite good. I made the mistake of getting quail...I forgot how tiny a quail is. Really, things on the regular menu looked better. We will try again.
We were on our way to the Queen concert on Aug 20, 2019 but running latter than we liked. we told our waitress and the other person who was with her. She immediately took our food orders and got that going while she came and took our drink orders while the food cooked. Everything came out hot and fresh! Everyone left full and happy and we got out in what I would describe as extremely fast. Thanks Simon and staff. We will be back again when we have more time.
Food was phenomenal and will set your taste buds on fire! In a good way of course!
Service was good, food was great, the ambiance could use a little work. Seemed a little cramped.
Waiting for 15 minutes after being seated and having to draw the attention of wait staff to come to table is not good. It was at off night. Food always good.
Great for lunch!
I have been to Brown Butter a few times, I have liked it each time I visited. The food is excellent quality, the burgers are especially fantastic. I think the prices may be a bit higher than some restaurants in a similar range BUT they are consistent, the staff is nice, the restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. I definitely recommend Brown Butter to anyone looking for a place to eat in Mid-City.
There was a table of young women directly behind us who were celebrating something and were very boisterous and disruptive. They needed to be in a separate area!
Other than that it was great.
Seems to have dropped off in recent months, been hit-or-miss last few lunchtime trips. The 'crispy' fried oysters on my sandwich were cold and soggy w/ 3 tiny orphan shards of lettuce- still tasted good. But pretty weak for $15. Not a complete loss... the wings were great, brussels as well. Will definitely be back.
Outstanding food and service. Great bar. Very comfortable restaurant. Best burger in NOLA! My “go-to” in Mid-city.
Coolinary menu options were nice. And were a la cart. Always a great neighborhood restaurant with good food and service
Three of us ate from the Coolinary menu and three ate from the regular brunch menu. It was all very good, as always. The service was impeccable with our waitress going out of her way to accommodate a request for warm milk rather than creamer for his coffee. On the Coolinary menu, biscuits were definitely featured in each course, but they were really delicious biscuits and they were presented differently. The brunch burger was amazing as always, the waffle was perfectly done as was the bacon. Every aspect of our brunch was delicious.
The Coolinary menu was terrific. All four members of our dining party greatly enjoyed their selections.
Sports bar food!!! Nothing special, disappointed as i had wanted to eat here for several years.
Great food and service!
The brisket, greens and macaroni and cheese entree was scrumptious!
Was quite disappointed with this place. They seem to be trying some sort of Southern-Soul-Korean fusion and it just doesn't work. Bland collard greens on a generic chicken sandwich. Unfermented kimchee (oxymoron?) on burger. What can I say?
Hey Patricia, I am so very sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your experience with us.
