Brother Jimmy's BBQ
We serve down home cooking with southern hospitality. We also serve as the home away from home for all ACC alumni.
Its just OK. We were there during March madness. It was madness!
Really good food. We especially liked the corn bread and briskett. Very casual and hopping with a mostly young crowd.
Perfect Dinner before the Fleetwood Mac Concert at MSG
Totally recommend Jimmys. The best is they give you 25% off your meal if you are a NYC School teacher! Just need to show proof! Love Jimmys!!
Food and service were very good.
Great place to go before a show.
Had a great time - perfect before a professional hockey game - loved it
Great venue. Fun place Nd great BBQ. Cold beer and great sangria. We had the marbles brisket. It was sensational! Service was terrific and fun. Great music. Perfect spot for dinner before an event at MSG. Right across the street. Perfect spot.
Great place for food especially if going to a game at the Garden. Would really recommend the dry ribs.
The food was OK the service the same. The music was so loud I could not here my guest.
I made a reservation through open table. When we arrived the 2 girls at the desk seated us at a table in the bar area right by the door. My friend asked if we could be moved to the upstairs dining. They never even returned to tell us yes or no and we were 2 feet away from them. We wouldn’t have minded but my friend had to wear her jacket the whole time we were there. We wanted to try the brisket, which is the only reason we didn’t go elsewhere. To be ignored by the 2 hostesses was very rude.
Great food and wonderful service. The atmosphere is very cool and fun.
Nothing good about the experience. From hostess to the food, everything disappointed.
Great BBQ spot! Perfect spot to go before a Knicks game or MSG event. The brisket is off the charts good.
Amazing food and iced tea! Service was brilliant and food comes out so quickly!!!
This is my second time here and the waitresses were really nice and the food always came out hot.
For a place near Penn Station it is not badly priced and convenient. They have daily weekday specials. However, be aware that the service may be slow. For example, on Sundays they have all you can eat ribs and beer (Coors) for about $25. Great deal. The trick is that they initially serve you 4 ribs and then 2 ribs for every refill, and there is a 2 hour time limit...so you can see how this goes. It took over an hour to get initial order and then about 20 minutes for the refill. They were on point with the beer refills at least. The regular rib dinner is for $22...and I think you get 6 or 8 right off the bat. The food was pretty decent. The majority of the ribs were huge and juicy, but the appetizers could have used an oil change before deep frying the pickles or hush puppies. Note: this was after a big win for St. John's at MSG against Villanova, so the bar area downstairs was packed, but the upstairs dining was not too busy at all.
Wife and I love this place. Great stop on way back to Penn station.
So Delicious!!!!!!!! Food was OUTSTANDING!! Staff were great and attentive. We had our 3 year old daughter with us and they made a fuss over her, gave her a balloon, made sure she had a cup with a top and straw. Just a very nice experience all around, will without a doubt be going back!!!
Since the request was not honored to acknowledge or sing happy birthday, it should not be advertised that this place is good for birthdays.
The appetizers and ribs were delicious.
Excellent location, really tasty food & fun atmosphere! Highly recommend!
We are at Brother Jimmys before the Billy Joel concert on Valentine’s Day. We were very disappointed with the quantity of food served, my husband ordered ribs and was told it was a 1/2 rack but instead there were only 4 ribs and for the price we paid That was ridiculous. I ordered the brisket which came out ice cold and dry as could be. The food also came out within 5 minutes of ordering which makes me believed it’s simply microwaved. We were highly recommended to this restaurant but unfortunately will never return and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone either
Food was outstanding. Hush puppies, catfish and fresh cut fries. Very, very loud. Service was really tops. Highly recommend for Southern food.
Brisket sandwich was excellent - plenty of meat and excellent taste. Sides were very good as well. Rates right up there with City BBQ and Mission BBQ in Ohio. Pricing was very reasonable. Great atmoshphere.
Great service. Perfect place to eat before a game.
We really enjoyed our time at Brother Jimmy's. It was very busy and very loud. The waitress was very busy and didn't pay attention to us like I like but very pleasant. My brisket was cold, not even warm but cold?? Other members of our party had burgers and they said they were very good. I liked the very loud vibe and would go back again.
Had a great time! Food was delicious and very good service.
TOO LOUD. waitress couldn’t even hear us.
The 8th ave location is too loud and crowded.
Other location on east side. Much better
Food was delicious, would highly recommend to any friends coming to visit NYC
Great Food, Great Service. We love this place. The brisket is to die for.
loved the appitizer with tacos and dessert. the food was ok
We have been going to Brother Jimmy's for years, especially the one in the UWS that no longer is there so we go to the one on 34th Street after church. Great good, great fun place and my tween son loves it also. Great place to go with the family or with have adult time with your friends.
There were 10 people in the restaurant on a Thursday night at 8pm. The music was so loud we couldn’t talk. We asked to move to a table that wasn’t directly under a speaker were told they were for tables of 3 or more. There were 10 people on 2 floors? Really? We left! I don’t care how the food is. I don’t enjoy torture while I try and eat.
Good food but the place gets packed when there is a Rangers game.
Ranger Game—fun Nashville Country Bar type of atmosphere. Drinks were a little overpriced but the food was delicious and all the people that work there are really nice. It was a fun 2 hr pre-game dinner!
Good food, great location and friendly service at a reasonable price!
We had dinner before the PBR at MSG. It was awesome! We will definitely be back🤩
Was very much looking forward to some great BBQ prior to the PBR event at the Garden. Loved that OpenTable had the ability to make the reservation. Reservation was for 5pm, event at 645. We ordered apps, drinks and entree's all at once for quicker service. Waited over an hour for our food and finally came to have 10 min to eat. Not acceptable. Wont go back.
Apps, meals and drinks were all fantastic. Prices were great. Located right across from MSG!
This location is great for Garden events. Just across the street from entrance on 8th ave.
