Brother Jimmy’s BBQ – White Plains Ratings and Reviews
I went there for dinner with my family and my son's friend. The music was extremely loud. The server gave us a dirty plate that had to be replaced. There were no forks on the table-we had to ask for them. We also had to ask for napkins. I had the Chicken Caesar salad which was just okay. I know my son & his friend liked their meals.
I was hoping for some good BBQ. I got the baby back ribs, mac and cheese and fried Brussels sprouts.the Brussels sprouts were the best part. The mac and cheese was mushy and overly cheesy in a bad way. The ribs were tough and almost inedible. I was sorely disappointed. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The noise level was high and it's more of a bar scene. I do not recommend.
Gravely disappointed and will not be back. On arrival observed 3 window tables, but advised they were reserved. We took the bar seat until we saw couples that came after get seats. Then the bill came Pallemeto Punch 2, an order wings and coke came to $40. yes I flinched. But when i moved to the booth 2 more Punches, a Brisket Platter, and 1 Coke came to $34. Then there's the waitress, every 5 mins pressured - do you need anything else-yet the booth in front and behind use were never bothered. The brisket was cold, as was the cornbread. Overall I will have to say i was disappointed.
How was Brother Jimmy's? Well, imagine this! My guest and I went there on Monday, Memorial Day expecting great BBQ. After receiving our menu we were point-blankly informed; No Northern Style Ribs, No Southern Style Ribs, No Baby Back Ribs, No Brisket, No Rib Tips!
Why the heck were they open? That was my amazing experience!
I'm a big fan of BBQ and I had high expectations once there we were told they were out of northern style ribs.....at 730... really?? So we made the best and to be honest the baby backs were ok a bit chewy for my liking the corn bread not as sweet as it should be
Total bill with tip 108.00 not worth it
2nd trip to location, on the fly, however this time they lost a notch-star. The pace was fast because of March Madness Fever on a Thursday Rd 1. Ordered the Baby back ribs, and they were size of normal ribs. Also tougher-chew which was a set back for smoked product. Brisket "B"; Ribs "C-" for the price.
Venue ok for neighborhood and college-after hours business set. Sports monitors for the local teams and ESPN related games of the day-week are positioned well. Was a bit too noisy for me due to a "kids-party" and they had run of the place (lost a notch there). Food was better than anticipated. Jimmy's used to be a regular at the Hudson River Blues BBQ but as since stopped appearing reasons unknown; thus the initial hesitancy in going in thinking they lost a step. However Brisket was still Tender; Ribs clean; and Fish fresh so (got the notch back). Overall was pleased and I will return
It was very busy at all when we went. Our sever took forever with our drinks. Took our order well. But she was slow and our main came cold. My husband and i got brisket, i also got the brussel sprout and beans. It took an hour to get our meals and all the food was cold. The brisket was not juicy due to being cold my sprouts we cold and dry and my beans we warm. We will not be going back or recommending the facility
Almost no one in the restaurant at 7PM on a weekday night, and it took 15 minutes to get a beer at the table. Then the food came out. one order was cold. they also were out of one of the main stay BBQ rib styles.
What a way to run a food business. I will take mine elsewhere.
Amateurish service, lukewarm to cold food, Pig Pen which supposed to be for four people was ridiculously small, music painfully loud- had to ask twice to turn it down. If you are over 25 and looking for good food- this place is not for you. We were very surprised as we had eaten there when the first opened and the food was great-, we have also eaten at their NYC location which was good also.
Went here to check it out as it is new in the neighborhood. Place is huge and the food choice was quite typical. Enjoyed the experience as we were looking for food that would hit the spot while we continue our shopping spree. Service was good and the food came out in a timely manner. Fun place to take friends and definitely can accommodate big groups.
Had been to this restaurant once before when they first opened. It was clear then that they were still working out the kinks, however, this time around our experience was fantastic. It seems they have revamped the menu with a number of new options. When we arrived at 8pm the bar was buzzing and the dining room was full. When we left, we stayed for a drink at the bar. May other diners seemed to follow suit.
We had a great window seat, while it was still warm out. Our waitress was very cool and it made all the difference in the experience one might of had otherwise. Our food was really good, a tad bit on the higher end for a meal for 2 (about $70). Portions were good, not too much and not too little--just right.
