Brophy Bros. Restaurant & Clam Bar - Ventura
Our Ventura location has a fun, lively atmosphere with beautiful views of the mountains and harbor. Choose your spot - sit at the full length bar facing the view and the clam bar, grab a window and lean in or sit at a table either inside or out.
Everyone is welcome at Brophy Brothers !
This place was recommended by a friend. The place was too loud and I didn't like that all the doors were open so the restaurant was cold. The seafood Cippiono lacked flavor and there were too many mussels, not enough clams or shrimp.
Nice meal. Good service. It's a regular for me. I've been going there for years.
I ordered a seated salmon salad and received an overdone dry piece of salmon! The other diners in our group were also disappointed.
Son’s 22nd birthday family dinner. Service and food were great. The restaurant was busy, so a little noisy.
As always staff and food top notch!
Dustin was our server. Very attentive and service with a smile.
Seated at our usual table for two in the corner.
Relaxing, joyful ambiance
Watched the pirate and the parrots along with all the little mermaids!
Nice day in Ventura
chowder was good. Of the three fish dishes one of them was dry. Hostess gave us a view table but we couldn't sit down because the floor was so dirty with food. I tracked her down and she had someone clean it up. They were busy with a large group who kept bumping us so hostess moved us to a window seat. Where a jacket it's cold by the windows!
Always the standby go-to place in the Ventura Oxnard area. Have dined here several times and always pleased with their outstanding seafood selection and service.
My friend and I got there in the morning and were seated with a nice view of the water. We both enjoyed a top notch clam chowder and some very nice bread. We split a rich and savory garlic clams appetizer. My friend ordered the fish and chips while I had the breaded clams. My friend really liked the fish and praised the cole slaw. I replaced my slaw with a pretty good sized salad and enjoyed my fried clams. The service was friendly and even as it started filling up they were still attentive to drink refills. The food was very good and of high quality. I would happily go back for seconds...or thirds.
This restaurant is just not like the Santa Barbara Brophy’s. The service is just terrible. I’ve given this place so many chances to rectify itself and it never does. The restaurant desperately needs a new manager that knows how to hire quality people.
We were seated promptly by our server with at a table with the harbor view. Service was prompt and our entrees and beverages were great! Highly recommend Brophy Bros for great seafood!
Had great salmon and wine. Beautiful view of the harbor.
Best Bloody Marys. We had a great time for my Birthday. Which is on Halloween!
Excellent food, nice variety of local beers on draft, top notch service, reasonable prices, but can't hear a thing. They really need some sound dampening materials in here. Each time we told the waitress what we wanted to order, she had to say, "what?" and lean in closer to hear us.
My wife and I each had the clam chowder, and it was delicious.
Me: "That's good chowder."
Me: "I said, THAT'S GOOD CHOWDER!"
Me: (pointed at chowder then cupped hands around mouth like a bull horn) "GOOD CHOWDER!!!"
Wife: "OH, YES, IT IS."
I had the ahi with fries and Cole slaw. My wife had the scampi. It was all delicious.
We don't frequently get to have mud pie because it frequently has nuts in it. We were pleasantly surprised they didnt have nuts in their mud pie, so we tried it. It was a honkin' HUGE wedge of coffee ice cream with some oreo cookie crust and whipped cream. The two of us couldn't finish it.
All in all, enjoyed the food and service here, but don't plan on carrying on a conversation if you dine inside.
We had a wonderful time. Thank u for making it a memorable evening.
Always enjoy going to Brophys. Great service good food.
fantastic food, service, fair price, fresh caught, wonderful ambience
Good food, good location, food came out too fast.
Brophy Bros has a beautiful spot overlooking Ventura harbor and overlooking the mountains. Friendly efficient staff and great seafood and drinks. Enjoy your lunch or dinner with friends! Quite loud.
Love Brophy Bros! Great food, great value!! Our favorite restaurant in Ventura!
Servers were fantastic, view at sunset is wonderful. Food is good but we came for my mother's 75th birthday because she loves being on the water. We had a great time!
In the past, Brophy’s was a good restaurant. However, this time we noticed a decline in service and food. The sea bass was over cooked, the cole slaw was mushy, and the clam chowder was bland. I was served the wrong salad dressing, and my husband was served the wrong wine. The highlight of the meal was the shrimp cocktail sauce.
This is our 2nd time there this month. We went there for our 37th wedding anniversary.
Great seaside weather
Good people watching
Scallop plates great taste great value
We'll be back once a month!!
It was our Anniversary!
Open Table made it happen for us!
We had a wonderful table server named Dustin.
Food was excellent!
My only comment other than compliments is that the plate is over loaded with food. It's nice to see the plate under more than adequate servings. Piles of slaw and potatoes detract from the delicious fish...which I had to search for...sort of ruins what ;you do best.
Thank the staff for their escellent service. My issue comes from the kitchen....I guess I'll ask for less o the plate instead...as I couldn'e find what I had ordered.
Great food in a casual setting with an amazing view of the Ventura Harbor.
We had the Mahi mahi dish which was delicious and the swordfish which was good but a bit dry around the edges. The clam chowder was great and so was the service. We sat outside on the deck (made a reservation since it was a Saturday) and were seated right away at around 3:30pm. It was very hot out there but the view of the harborwas beautiful! We enjoyed our time there and plan to eat there again.
Great Service. people are really friendly and great view of the harbor. Try the Clam Chowder and the Mahi Mahi was cooked really well. Also had the Seafood pasta which wasn’t bad but not anything special. Needed a little more flavor but not a bad dish.
I have been to Brophy Brothers in Santa Barbara and was in Ventura visting a friend for her birthday. I was happy to see it when I Googled restaurants in Ventura. It was my friend's birthday and she was pleasantly surprised with the fabulous mud pie. We had the salmon with a great spinach sauce. All was delicious!!
Great service. Great food-even though I had a special request. Really affordable prices.
The food and service is superb and you can’t beat the view.
Nice place with great water views. The food was very nice.
Food was awesome and the view of the marina was very nice. Our server, Vanessa, was amazing. She was professional, sweet, and very helpful. I’m from Miami, so seafood and marinas are not new to me, but the service and food is what set it apart. The food is modestly priced for the quality (and quantity). I highly recommend for family gatherings and special occasions. I’m coming back next time I visit the west coast!
always a pleasure to come here and enjoy some great seafood. Nice view from the patio of the Ventura Marina. Good service usually, and friendly servers. It gets crowded at dinner during the Summer, so make a reservation!
When in Ventura, we go to Brophy Bros. The food is always excellent. Had crab cakes the other day and they were wonderful.
Great vibe, great staff. Ate at a the bar to enjoy the fantastic view. Soup was top shelf, the coleslaw is the best I've had, Mahi Mahi very good, rice was also way above way rice is normally. My wife had a vegetable plate, $3, way better than usual.
Amazing view, amazing food, great service! The menu is extensive, seafood focused. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and service need to make a reservation as it is a very popular place. good food and drinks.\
Food was good and reasonably priced. Service was good too.
Good food, wouldn't say to die for..wish they offered a bigger menu. Server was not too attentive. Had about 3 other people serve and help us ,but he was m.i.a helping another table and it was not that busy.cannot beat that view tho
Oysters were not good! The crab and calamari were ok.
