Awesome and delicious great selection on the menu
Fantastic evening. Victoria and Mike, the owners, and our server David, all helped make our visit amazing. Every dish was fantastic. Kale caesar with duck confit... Amazing. Salmon and steak, brilliant. Oh, yeah, the chocolate bread pudding was to die for!
Go. Just go.
I want to begin with I like this restaurant and eat here often... Tonight was a big disappointment. Our favorite salad (fig, pear and prosciutto arrived with only two pieces of prosciutto instead of the usual six. My husband and I both ordered salmon cooked medium... sent it back once for being undercooked and came back still undercooked.
My husband and I both ordered cocktails and thought the drinks were measured with an eye dropper. . The drinks were $12.50 with one shot that barely filled the glass. People around us that ordered drinks lifted their glass with an incredulous gaze at the small serving. I don’t mind if the drinks are more expensive, but after 4 sips the glass was empty. This is a situation where you lose customers by being frugal.
Drinks always arrive after a 20 minute wait. And I mean ALWAYS! This has happened the last 3 times we ate here. The restaurant needs a second bartender. As we eat out often at many restaurants, I don’t mind paying for what we get cocktail wise.....we expect to receive what we pay for. I think we will this restaurant a rest for awhile...
The best restaurant in the hood
What a treat! The decor is fun and eclectic. Our waiter was efficient, accommodating and friendly. Loved the Mule I ordered! We will definitely be back!
Food was very good! The family liked the bacon wrapped meatballs for our starter and our server was very accommodating to the kids needs.
I loved that there was a public parking lot right across the street if needed.
Ordered Chicken and Biscuits with a side of thick bacon and a side of smashed potatoes. I ordered the smashed potatoes because the menu description did not show potatoes coming with my meal. The waiter did not tell me they came with my meal. When my meal arrived, there were potatoes with it, so my side of potatoes was redundant, and unnecessary. The waiters comment, “oh yeah, I forgot.”
The chicken itself on the biscuits were two very small pieces that barely were the size of the top of the biscuit. The biscuits were hard and dry. Not very good. Then, there were poached eggs on top also. The eggs came out well done, like a hard boiled egg. I asked for two more, runny, poached eggs. (How they are supposed to be) I received two more eggs, one runny, the other the same as the first two... I was so hungry by then I just ate them.
Just a brunch with the hubby
Our waiter was so special. Thanks for the great service. Well b back next year for our tournament
Get the steak. It was amazing.
Fun. Great food. Good service.
Enjoyed the restaurant and atmosphere. Food was very good. Would definitely go back.
Daughters 16th bday. Overall very good. Food was delicious. Server attentive. Just a bit slow but not disruptive to evening. Brought small dessert with candle which was lovely.
Been here many times and always happy. Great drinks and food, excellent service in a post-industrial space. Excellent neighborhood spot
Our service was incredibly rude, however we made the best out of our time, to the point where we had to send 1 dish back because it had everything we asked the kitchen NOT to add...and when we spoke up, the waiter rolled his eye and was not happy about taking the dish back. So when one of us got the French toast drenched in syrup...after we specifically stated syrup on the side, we did not even bother sending it back, we simply put it aside without touching it. Not once did the server ask if there was anything wrong with the dish. We are trying this new thing of trying new restaurants, therefore we made the best of our time. We will not be returning to this establishment.
Fabulous brunch with lots of great choices. Yum
Sunday Brunch at BG is becoming a habit. Cant go wrong on these rainy days with grilled cheese and fresh tomato soup.
I deviated this past Season Sunday and unfortunately The avocado toast did not live up to my expectations...so back to the grilled cheese. Yum.
Overall good - out of 4 orders the omelettee was really dry, service a bit slow due to overloaded bartender (only one on staff for a Sunday?!) and a bit loud for my taste.
We have been many times and have never been disappointed. The service is always excellent and the food is consistently good.
A pasta dish I ordered was plentiful but not very flavorful. The shrimp were almost non- existent and the dish was overloaded with breadcrumbs. The corkage fee was outrageous for a local casual dining restaurant. Two dishes featured on the website were not available as well as the charcuterie platter from the menu that our group was really looking forward to having. Pizza was excellent. Our waiter did his best to provide good service but it was clear he was slammed and had a large number of tables to manage. All in all - the experience was not impressive .
Great food, drinks, and ambiance. It’s always a bit on the cold side though so bring an extra layer.
Always good! Great flavored popcorn to start, kale Caesar is awesome and fig, onion and prosciutto pizza is my favorite.
Brooklyn Girl is San Diego gem. The decor is whimsical and imaginative, the service is thoughtful and the food is great, with generous portions. Perfect for a special occasion or just a quick bite. We go back often.
Best place in town for a fun, relaxed gathering.
We had a great time everyone was impressed by the restaurant and their meal.
We had pizza for dinner. The toppings were delicious, but the dough was not really pizza dough. It was more like bread.
Incredible staff all around, cant wait to come back.
Outstanding service and ambiance. Food was too salty
The atmosphere is great and the decor is beautiful. We went there for brunch and were there for over an hour and we got one drink. Our waitress brought our food and one drink and never came back again to check on us. The only time she came back was to bring the check.
She never even came over to see if our waters needed refilling, which they did, since we never got any other drinks.
I was really disappointed in the experience, but I will try it again one more time. I’m hoping it was just an off day for them.
Yes, the popcorn is delicious and habit forming. We also enjoyed the cornbread with honey and Victoria's pizza. Definitely recommend and will return.
The food was excellent as usual but the service was the worst that we had experienced at the restaurant. The meals arrived after long after we had ordered and my mom’s meal was incorrect two different times. Our guest’s meal was incorrect also. There was no apology or acknowledgement from the server. Not a dealbreaker for future visits but definitely a bummer.
Wonderful place to go! We had a great cocktail to start with and shared lots of small plates bc we could decide what to choose from. Everything is so good. The service was great and we met the owner who is absolutely charming. We’ll be back very soon!
Usually our absolute favorite place in the neighborhood, but last night was a “miss” overall.
Took forever for our server to come by to take our drink order, then forever to get those drinks. He seemed overwhelmed and a bit flustered all evening.... something was off.
Then our meal just wasn’t up to par. We have had some really terrific food here but not last night. The Special was salmon - altho’ not very special - not very inspiring and the sides weren’t good. The All Kale Caesar salad was tasty but that silly tiny bowl has GOT to go — it’s ridiculous to serve a big salad in that manner - half fell on the table! Our guest was very frustrated with it. My Duck and Date salad was delish as always....no problems there.
With the noise, a wobbly table and stressed service, we skipped dessert and another drink in favor of another spot... too bad. We’ll be back again soon, and hope it was a fluke!
Great food. Great service. Always a pleasure to dine here. Introduced our friends to BG and they loved it.
Brunch with mom and dad in from out of town
We went for dinner during Restaurant Week, and our service was great. We ordered off the Restaurant Week menu, getting bue carpaccio and Vietnamese meatballs for the first course. They were outstanding. The carpaccio was gluten free. For the main course, we had the chicken breast (gluten free) and lamb with couscous (not gluten free), and they were both better than the first course. I am usually a slow eater, but I took my time because I wanted to savor the food for as long as I could. For dessert, we had the gluten free carrot cake and the pumpkin cheesecake. The dessert was the perfect size after a filling meal. We also ordered a cocktail, but I cannot remember the name. I do, however, remember the taste; it was delicious and wintery.
Overall good, excellent drinks and ambiance. Wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever had my entire life but it was still very goodFood wasn’t the best they have ever had in my entire life but it
David, I believe was our servers name. He was exceptional. He knew the menu well, recommended , when we asked - really good about timing. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening celebrating a birthday. I’ll keep coming back
We came to get together with old friends to catch up. It is a very friendly environment., liked the urban decoration, good ambiance. We were a little concerned about the noise if it will interfere with our conversations, but I am pleased to say that it wasn't. Our server was fast, considerate and very good communicator, the manager walked around and show true care about their customers.
