Bronwyn Ratings and Reviews
Bronwyn is one of our favorites. The ambience is great, the menu enticing and the service is very attentive. The beer options range from a lite lager to a hearty dark - and many options in between. We had the potato salad and the spaetzle to start - both excellent. My wife had the spaetzle as her main course and I had the sauerbraten. While the sauerbraten was excellent, her spaetzle was a little undercooked and swimming in butter. Regardless, Bronwyn is an excellent place to return to over and over!
Amazing service from the moment I walked in. The hostess was very nice and recommended we eat in the front area near the bar because it was quieter. The waiter was extremely nice, gave great suggestions and also was attentive. Food was outstanding! I had Schnitzle and it was amazing. Highly recommend eating here.
I love this place, my mom is from Munich so coming here when I’m in town is a taste of her homeland and change from my usual go tos. The details from the menu to the decor and beer offerings are perfect for family meals or dates. I definitely urge everyone that likes good beer or cocktails paired with hearty food to drop in. Parking is tight but a loop around the block usually allows for street parking or a spot in the small lot to open up.
Bronwyn was everything as advertised, I've been to Germany on business and this was just like being there, except with better service and quality. Not a clunker on the menu, which was nice and compact, and the beer selection was excellent. Cant wait to go back.
We had a wonderful meal at Bronwyn! From start to finish, the host and servers were very friendly and accommodating. Everyone in our party loved the German food, and the great beer selection was fun! The atmosphere is wonderful, both inside and outside on the magical courtyard. We look forward to going back again soon!
I really can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The menu was small but provided wonderful options. The food was delicious, in fact we just kept ordering more and more food as the night went on. The beer list was lengthy, as was the schnapps list, and they offered a few creative and delicious cocktails as well. Honestly nothing bad to say! If you’re thinking of going... just do it.
The food was different than we had anticipated from other German restaurants we have been to. The knockwurst I am used to is like a double wide hot dog. Obviously not the same taste but looks and color are similar. These knockwurst were not close to what I have had in Germany. I would definitely go back because of the service. A bit expensive for 4 adults it was almost $300 with tip. That includes 5 drinks.
The Oktoberfest menu was amazing and the staff were so fantastic at balancing a pretty sizable party. I felt really welcomed and I was regarded with a seat of honor for my birthday lunch. The food was fantastic, the staff were amazing, I have nothing but the best things to say about our lunch!
We very enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, the unusual menu at Bronwyn. It was great to sit outdoors on picnic tables. Inside the decor is charming and unusual. The food is quite good although I was a bit disappointed by my dish, the Haxe Hash. My husband got the potato dish which was better. The hash portion was quite small and I did not find it particularly flavorful. But everything else was good and the general laid back ambiance was great.
We thought it would be a good idea to tale our German friend to this restaurant, but we were wrong. The only dish we liked was the potato salad (really good!) but it comes in a ridiculously small cup. The rest of the food was dry, overcooked and not what we expected. Our standards are high, but it wouldn't meet those of anyone who has tried properly cooked Schweinshaxe (pork shank). The meatballs and sausages were equally dry and the flavor wasn't good. The schnitzel was ok.
Excellent experience with the Dine Out special menu. Every course creative and delicious. Especially appreciated the pork knuckle with a great variety of sides, including sausage, meatballs, and potatoes. The dark draught beer was some of the best I've had. We will be back...
Great and friendly service! Free shots after dinner and a special candle for my birthday. Thank you Bronwyn for making me feel so special!! ALSO, omg PEONY-scented Mrs. Meyers hand soap... holy moly. Mind=blown. Seriously though I've never had a bad thing here and I've eaten here many times. Consistently delicious.
The beef was overly dry. The trio sausage was also dry and bland. The sauerkraut was decent. Had the dill cucumber salat which were just a ton of cucumbers in vinegar and a rather sad beet salad. The server was very friendly and helpful. Beer selection is awesome.
Well, I had heard great things, but was somewhat disappointed. Maybe it's because I grew up with that kind of food. The food was fine but not much more than that. The Bretzel (soft pretzel) was good, not great. The accompanying dip was at little too far into the horseradish, I think. The spaetzle was good, I liked all the onions, but the peas were crunchy, i.e. frozen peas had been dumped into the hot dish but they hadn't cooked enough. The Manhattan-style drink was quite tasty, I will say that. I suppose I'd go again if it was convenient, but probably not to pursue the food.
We went on my husbands birthday! They had a special hot dog week which was very cool! He got the daily dog and a spicy mustard pretzel to start. I got the local radish salad and spaetzle - all were delicious and the beer selection was awesome! We will definitely return and recommend to others.
Been a long time since our previous visit, and this time the weather was perfect for al fresco dining amongst the half dozen tables along the outside, umbrellas blocked intense sun and fencing created an oasis from street activity. He ordered the wurst sampler, very delicious, while I had the pierogis stuffed with pork, beef, onion, also good. The pierogis are large and baked, not boiled in water. Plenty to share. I'm not a beer drinker, but the Austrian wine list offered a tasty light (not calories) beer with strong grapefruit tones and a slight frizzante. Perfect for the hot night, and the breezes kept the scene comfortable.
