The family introduced their latest addition, an elegant two-story Brodard Chateau restaurant in 2006. You"ll ease right into this comfortable and stylish blend of Vietnamese and Art Deco ambiance with its inviting full bar frequented by a scene-savvy crowd. The kitchen offers daily specials of authentic refined Vietnamese cuisine as well as delectable Asian fusion dishes just perfect for this vibrant and ultra-cozy restaurant.
Great food ,amazing value..should have assigned 2 wait staff for a group of 20 .
Our server was fantastic. She recommended some excellent dishes.
Great menu. Lots of choices of Vietnamese and western style selections. Cracklings beef was delicious. Ample servings. Service was prompt and servers were friendly.
I would recommend Brodard Chateau and will return.
This was our first time visiting as my daughter wanted authentic Vietnamese food for her sweet 16th. The atmosphere the service the food we're all as recommended. We will definitely be back. Our waiter Andrew was sweet funny engaging accommodating he really made it special. One-might be that the menu had so many items we wanted much more than we ordered but everything we ordered was too much.
Food was disappointing- no flavor, bland, some overcooked. Uninspired.
Never go wrong with the food and service here.
We arrived at 7:25 for a 7:30 reservation. We were told they were waiting for a table to finish and would be a few minutes. After several minutes, I inquired and was told maybe 15-20 minutes. I was pretty surprised, unpleasantly. 10 minutes later, we saw a table open for 4 and asked if we could sit there, and just have a chair at one end. No, they said they had a nice table for 5 and we’re just waiting for the party to finish up. So we waited some more. At 7:59, they took us back to a table for 4 with a chair stuck at one end to accommodate 5. It was so tight that when seated, one chair would butt up against a nearby tables chair, thus blocking exit from the room for several other tables. We actually couldn’t sit because another large party was filing out and blocking the chair.
After eventually moving us to a booth, we enjoyed our meal. Our server was super nice and did a great job. We can’t fault him, but the 2 hostesses were valid and not helpful, almost disrespectful. It appeared they were not able to handle the large walk in demand that night. Reservations should always take precedence, IMHO.
We had small appetizers here. The Canadian escargot mango salad was delicious. We also has the famous spring rolls, I didnt expect the fried egg roll wrapper inside, but it was a nice surprise.
Calamari was good.
Overall everything was very good. Clean restaurant great for a date.
As always this is THE place for Vietnamese food. The grilled pork spring rolls are a must. And anything on the menu is delicious! A favorite on these colder days of course is Chicken Pho, which we had.
Wonderful menu and variety of tasty menu crossing over from veggies to meat. Touch of fusion but brings out best flavors of Vietnamese food with others. Highly recommended.
This is a great stand-alone restaurant that serves excellent Vietnamese fare. There are so many choices, but like a lot of Asian restaurants, sharing is expected and encouraged. There are monthly specials and a separate menu highlighting a traditional Vietnamese meal. It's a large establishment, so in the two times I've been there I've gotten seated immediately. Highly recommended.
We invited 16 friends and relatives to help celebrate my wife's birthday and all agreed it was an enjoyable party with good moderately priced food served with friendly and efficient service. Coincidentally, my granddaughter advised us that co-workers from her day job (social services) had selected Brodard Chateau for their annual office dinner and that this was a golden opportunity for her to get an advanced assessment of what that was going to be like. She plans to submit a positive report about her experience. As I indicated in the multiple choice item, I would recommend this restaurant to others for a variety of dining arrangements.
The pork spring rolls are the best item on the menu and deserve the high marks from other reviewers. I was a bit disappointed in the atmosphere as it didn’t really feel like a chateau. Server was attentive at first but then got busy so was slower in accommodating our requests. A bit overpriced compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in LA. Maybe because this is in OC so not as much competition.
The food was spectacular. Duck salad, Seafood Tom Yum, Red curry all having so many different layers of flavor.
Overall experience was outstanding! Seated immediately, nice quiet table and friendly service. Of course food and drinks were excellent as usual. Intend to come back soon. This place is in our top five restaurants that we visit often. If in the mood for Vietnamese food this is our go to place.
Seating was good and staff was very helpful. Nice environment.
The Duck salad is delicious with a generous amount of duck meat. I have ordered Calimari on three occasions. The first two times this dish was spectacular. Unfortunately the Calimari was not cooked properly and the fried breading fell of the Calimari leaving an oily mess. We sent it back and they reprepared it and it was better however it lacked that special passion that the chef usually puts into the dish. Perhaps coming in at 8:15 PM the second string may have been doing the preparations. The recipes are excellent however it was obvious that this particular chef that cooked that night lacked passion for what he/she was doing. Food was off a little bit for this visit.
We were here to celebrate our anniversary. I tried to understand the menu and mention that the room is kind of dark to read the menu, the waiter wasn't helpful and responded "this is fine dining."
Well, silver wear is old and oily, just paper napkins, no table cloth and and dusty artificial flowers speak loudly. I won't be back.
Finally got to try this place that I’ve seen off the freeway for years. Such great food and the server was A+!
food was incredibly delicious - the list from Jonathan Gold was spot on - what a great dinner
Chateau Brodard is always great! The food is amazing.. the service is timely, thoughtful and professional. A wonderful experience from the spring rolls to the savory crepe and finishing with yummy Nutella and ice cream crepe. I can’t wait to return for another terrific dining experience.
If you're looking for more delicious Vietnamese cuisine or Asian fusion at great prices, this is the place. It's freeway close with large parking lot so it's a "no hassle" place to go for dinner even on Friday and Saturday nights. We had a birthday celebration with 5 people so I made reservations a few days ahead on Open Table. Even though we were seated next to another celebratory group of about 12, the restaurant is not loud and you and your family and friends can actually talk to each other. Plus, they make the best cocktails including what my husband thinks is the best martini around Orange County/Long Beach area. Highly recommend.
Very good food and service
I would definitely go back
We came for the first time to have a business lunch. It was a great experience!!! The service was fast, food and the ambiance were very good. Highly recommend this place for any type of events: lunch, dinner, anniversaries...
Overall, it was very good.
The noodle soup was not what I expected for the price, but other dishes were very good.
Took another friend to this restaurant who became a fan. It was her first time eating Vietnamese food and she thoroughly enjoyed it. This restaurant never disappoints. I've introduced scores of friends to Vietnamese food through this restaurant. The spring rolls are divine, the ginger honey tea a favorite of mine and the banana crepe dessert is both beautiful to look at and to eat.
I ordered the roast duck noodle soup and was disappointed (again) to find that it did NOT come with the green noodles which are much better than the noodles that i was served the last couple of times. Please bring back the green noodles!
Brodard Chateau lived up to its culinary descriptions in Jonathan Gold's 101 Best Restaurants in the Los Angeles/Orange County area in multiyear editions of the Los Angeles Times. The cuisine and service are excellent.
My reservation was confirmed by open table but there was no record at all at restaurant side.
The receptionist said there was no reservation record even I showed her my confirmed e-mail from open table. Nobody knew why but luckily we arrived early to get a table immediately. Other than this issue, all ratings are outstanding and would recommend friends to visit there. Duncan
Awesome place that has great food and lots of choices.
The food was but left all four of us with serious headaches and after effects from the heavy doses of MSG and preservatives that this restaurant uses in all their dishes.
The side effects we suffered will prevent us from ever trying Brodard Chateau again.
I've been here a couple of times for a lunch business meeting. There is a good selection and the service was excellent. I like spicy food and was not disappointed. Portion sizes are generous and food could be shared. I had leftovers and it was better the next day!
Food and presentation were top rate. This was my first visit and I will definitely be back with friends and family.
Pleasantly surprised- The grilled pork Spring rolls were amazing, vey flavorful and great texture. We also loved the chicken lettuce wraps. We will be returning soon.
One of the best Vietnamese restaurants we have been to in the U.S. There are many, many wonderful things on the menu. The problem is which ones to order. We loved the cashew chicken, and the crispy fried tofu.
Our table was ready, our waiter was friendly and helpful, and all our our food was amazing.
12:30 reservation, we were not seated until after 1:10pm, didn't eat until 1:30pm. After checking in three times to get some status updates, the hostess at the front stand just kept making excuses. Even the people just came in at 12:50 got their table first.
Our Server for lunch was Victoria and she was awesome. We asked for menu recommendations and she was informative and passionate about the menu. We enjoyed the shrimp and the pork spring rolls, red curry, and a noodle bowl. The dishes are flavorful and the veggies crisp and fresh! We will return bc of the overall experience.
Had the bbq chicken with garlic noodles. Fantastic. I’m glad I asked the waiter if it was good. Also had the duck buns and pork spring rolls. Everything was great!
