Brockton Villa is a beautiful historic home converted into a restaurant located directly across from the ocean. Our seaside location offers a spectacular view of the world-famous La Jolla Cove, and has become a favorite "show off" spot for locals and visitors alike. We are known for our breakfasts, including our famous Coast Toast. Our chef creates many other wonderful dishes seasonally for lunch and our dinner service.
Our house is the perfect place for you to host your next party. Whether it be a wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, baptism, bridal shower, baby shower, or any special occasion.
Brockton Villa loves families! Please don't forget to include your little ones in your reservation count!

Delicious food perfect service amazing views
Brockton Villa is my favorite breakfast place in North County San Diego! Sit on the patio and enjoy the view!
We went for breakfast on my birthday. The food and service was fantastic. The place is super cute (beach cottage converted into a restaurant) and has a lot of interesting history behind it. We sat on the balcony overlooking the cove. It was beautiful.
We loved the charm of the vintage architecture. The view was really incredible, food was delicious and the staff friendly and accommodating.
Wonderful food and service. Surf and sunset... what else is needed? Loved it!
First time visiting. The front of house staff was on point. Prompt greeting, seated quickly at our reserved time, and acknowledged our outdoor seating request from open table. Our server was fun to talk to and always there when you needed him. The view from the outdoor tables was beautiful. Last, we tried the Coast toast, breakfast tacos, cinnamon roll pancakes, and choco chip pancakes. All were tasty. Would definitely come back.
Dined here for brunch while on vacation. Shawn our waiter was attentive and helpful with selections. Everything was wonderful. Had coast toast for dessert after breakfast. Yummy! Awesome view—you can see and hear the seals.
Beautiful view. Sometimes the sea lion smell can be overpowering, but not bad if you sit inside. Service was quick and server was personable. Food was good, not great. They didn’t have ham for my Eggs Benedict, so I elected to have bacon.
We sat outside with a beautiful view of the water and shoreline. Attentive service and fabulous food.
Another good experience here. Crowds were lessened by the road construction making access a little tougher. Service was a bit slow and server seemed a bit distracted (forgot water, took a long time for beverages). My wife ordered the burrito to go and they forgot to put the mole in it?! Oops! Also disappointing that they didn’t include any Togo silverware with it or at least ask.
Views are incredible though and you can’t beat eating on the coast in La Jolla.
great food /great view/waitress Ivy was great!/accomadated us as we wanted to share portions.
Too often, restaurants offering spectacular views or unique physical features offer little else. Not Brockton Villa. I've found BV's food and service to be consistently excellent, just as it was on October 18, when I treated my sister (visiting from Maryland) to breakfast. A "Chamber of Commerce" day at La Jolla Cove was the backdrop as we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and attentive (not smothering) service. As a longtime resident of La Jolla, I have made Brockton Villa my "go to" destination - especially for breakfast and brunch when entertaining family and friends - and I will continue to do so. I can't imagine a more ejoyable location, nor a more "uniquely San Diego" experience.
Brought visitors from North Carolina! They loved it!
My boyfriend and I came for our anniversary and it was outstanding. I requested a table with a view and got a beautiful 2-top table on the little balcony with a great view of the sea lions and ocean. It was quiet and peaceful and we were able to focus on each other for our date. Our server was very attentive and made sure our drinks were always filled and our food was tasting good. The food was amazing! The lobster ricotta was so great, and my boyfriends fish tacos were also so good. Definitely going to come back here. The price for the food in La Jolla is unbeatable!
Always a great time at Brockton Villa. The food is always tasty and filling. It's one of my favorite brunch spots in La Jolla for the ambiance, location and the COAST TOAST
Herd to write a review on this one because I feel some factors brought down others. Overall I would not visit again. The service was odd, disjointed, and slow. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. Certainly not bad at all, but not anything that made it outweigh the other factors. The ambiance was ok, I’m sure at sunset it was beautiful but for diners who visit after the sun goes it was kinda bland. The wine selection always not very diverse. Overall it wasn’t bad but not really compelled to go back and show it off to others.
We were so disappointed, we had such high hopes for this place. The food did not come out timely, the service was sub par and there were random charges on our bill. This place has great potential, but who serves the soup with the dish?! Should come out before so nothing gets cold.
Ocean view from the veranda is unsurpassed! Food is delicious and service is great.
The seaside historical ambiance is grand in good weather. Simple, small and clean.
Really enjoyed this place in a historic house in La Jolla. Food was excellent and service was great.
Delicious food and friendly servers, plus a view that can’t be beat! We sat outside which I would highly recommend.
Lavender lemonade was awesome. A friend had recommended the corned beef hash, which I thought was just ok. Great location right next to La Jolla Cove, but a little stinky from the animals that hang in it.
Great place. Service and food was excellent. Make sure you order coast toast.
We had reservation and was seated 20 mins late. Very unorganized and not well run. Service was very slow and there were empty tables. Food was ok. The sea bass was very good but creme brûlée was not good. Not their fault but the smell from seals was very noticeable. We will not be back.
Beautiful setting on the Cove! Food was tasty and service hospitable. Would definitely visit again.
The view, service and ambiance was great but we were very disappointed with the food.
Decided to grab dinner last-minute at Brockton for restaurant week and so glad we did! Ocean views, saltwater in the air, and the beautiful sunset all combine for a very satisfying experience. Get a table outside overlooking the cove if you can - the view is unbeatable. The restaurant week menu was stellar. We both got the chowder, lobster risotto and fudge cake - all were delicious! David was our server and super attentive and helpful. We'll definitely be returning :)
Hostess refused to seat certain people at empty tables; almost left as it was somewhere between unfairly arbitrarily and discriminatory. Unfortunate because food was good an other staff were reasonably attentive. I won’t return.
Date night with my husband, forced ourselves out for a date and took advantage of San Diego restaurant week. Unfortunately for Brockton villa, construction is creating havoc on their business due to road structure outside of their place, our view was partially blocked by heavy equipment. food was nice and service good. Nothing was amazing so we will probably not return. Nice place to sit outside if you don’t mind the smell of seals/sea lions
There is still construction and the street is closed but that can be overlooked. Fish tacos were a bit dry and salmon was great but nothing special. We love their brunch, but dinner is just okay. We’ll definitely go back (especially after construction is finished). Server was fantastic
Amazing views and fabulous food. Toast on the Coast and Epic Chowder are reason enough to come here but everyone’s meal was delicious. Even during construction this restaurant is worth coming to. We used to live in San Diego, but now live in Texas. We always visit when we are in town! It’s the best.
We had heard great reviews on Brockton Villa but was a little disappointed. First, I wish they would have prepared us for the construction and that we could not get to the location. We parked a distance away and walked. Secondly, We had no idea that the liquor was “wine based” and only learned when we asked for a specific brand. The waiter was nice but looked like he was the only one handling tables. The food was good.
Nice and healthy options for kids. The food was good, although the soup was a little bit spicy and I mentioned beforehand that I could not have any spicy food.
The entire staff was stellar, but we were served by Darren and he was awesome! The crab cake and chowder combo that he suggested was so delicious. The view was amazing. We will definitely be coming back.
Food and service great. Smell and construction noise terrible
The food was good as well as the service. Our view was great and the brunch get together was relaxing.
Wish I had known no mimosas pre 11am. Road on front was under construction ruining the setting for us, but on another day I’m sure amazing. Food was good, but famous...not in my opinion.
Great atmosphere, not so great food. Husband had cioppino (sp?)-- seafood stew. Broth lacking in flavor, bland. I had lobster risotto: very tough, chewy pieces of lobster, not the choice bits-- very disappointing! And the risotto did not seem to be cooked properly. It was not smooth and creamy, had kind of a "raw" texture. Our friend did say his steak was very good, though.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Brockton Villa this week. A friend was visiting from out of town and we wanted a nice meal with a view. The hostess very kindly cleared a recently vacated table “on the rail” so we could enjoy the sunset. We each liked what we ordered. I had the deconstructed lobster roll, which included lobster salad a toasted and buttered brioche and avocado, which was delicious. We’ll definitely be going back.
Outstanding dining experience with exzellent cuisine!
Go there and enjoy
Fabulous food, friendly attentive service
